AGM-114 Hellfire AGM-114 Hellfire (Helicopter launched fire-and-forget) is a U.S. missile system.Hellfire was initially designed to be primarily used as a "tank-buster", launched from helicopters to defeat armored vehicles. It has since matured to be a comprehensive weapon system which can be deployed from rotary wing aircraft, fixed wing aircraft, naval assets and land based systems against a variety of targets. Despite the expanded acronym, most versions of the Hellfire missile are not truly "fire-and-forget"—all the laser-guided versions require constant illumination or "painting" of the target from launch to impact. The AGM-114L is a true fire-and-forget weapon: it requires no further guidance after launch and can hit its target without the launcher being in line of sight of the target. The Hellfire (along with the Maverick) was to be replaced by the Joint Common Missile (JCM) around 2011. The JCM was developed with a tri-mode seeker and a multi-purpose warhead that would combine the capabilities of the several Hellfire variants. In the budget for FY2006, the US Department of Defense canceled a number of projects that they felt no longer warranted continuation based on their cost effectiveness, including the JCM. Due to the U.S. military's continuing need for a proven precision-strike aviation weapon in the interim until a successor to the JCM is fielded, as well as extensive foreign sales, it is likely the Hellfire will be in service for many years.Hellfire missiles were successfully used by U.S. Army troops against seven targets during Operation Just Cause in Panama in 1990. Hellfire was used in the opening strikes of Operation Desert Storm on January 17, 1991, when eight AH-64 Apache helicopters used Hellfire missiles as well as Hydra 70 rockets to destroy two Iraqi early warning ground-control radar sites. In early 2002, RQ-1 Predator UAVs were armed with Hellfires and used in combat. The Hellfire missile has been used extensively in the 2003 invasion of Iraq and ongoing operations in Iraq. US Peace Corps Volunteers Thailand Group 114 10 wk Training In this video I try to express the feeling of what it may be like to be in Peace Corps. This video was filmed during the training and home stay before actually becoming volunteers. You get an intensive training for 3-4 months. Learning customs, culture and language. You have a home stay experience for over 6 weeks. Somtimes these people become very good friends in the future. Then you get assigned and move to a new location after training. You do your job whatever field it is in. Many of us were English Teachers and local community Trainers. Also many are involved in community work. You also become good friends with many of the volunteer you meet in your group. We had a special bond with each of the volunteers we lived near. You may see them often as they may live near you or you may never see them again after training if you are far apart. You complete your service in two years and then return home to share your experience. Its hard but interesting and amazing, things you never would get to do see and eat! Skills you pickup and trades you learn.Helping others the whole time. Plus it's awesome to learn new cultures and languages. Full immersion makes it easy too! I have been a Peace Corps volunteer twice. It is amazing! you make no money but have an amazing experience. Its something you can't expect and its hard but fun and feels good to help other people. The work with community groups is some of the most rewarding. Tree planting, reforestation and recycling. Aids work communtiy libraries or therater groups many diffent options are available for secondary projects. After two years you have a final workshop "close of service" meeting to help ease you back into America. Help you with job placement or provide school opportunities as well. Entliehen aus Stanley Kubrick's Filmklassiker „Clockwork Orange" bringt es dieser bewusst gewählte Bandname für die vier Rhein-Hessen auf den Punkt. „Das Serum 114 ist die Substanz, die aus einem bösen Menschen einen besseren Menschen machen soll. Am Ende aber versagt sie ...Chaos ... Punkt", erzählt Nils, Schlagzeuger der Band. „Der ganze Film ist Punk und er hat bis heute nichts von seiner Aussagekraft verloren." Frontmann Esche, Gitarrist Thorsten, Bassist Markus und Schlagzeuger Nils starten ihre Band früh. Schulzeit, Stress und wo ist das Ventil? Klingt wie ein Klassiker. Und hat das Potenzial dazu. „Das Gefühl, dass hier etwas Besonderes passiert, hatten wir eigentlich schon bei der ersten Probe" erklärt Nils weiter. Gemeinsam mit Esche (Gesang, Gitarre) wollte er eine Punkrockband starten. Schnell waren sich die beiden über die Idealbesetzung einig, und Thorsten und Markus waren sofort von der Idee begeistert. Dabei schauen sie der Gesellschaft mit sarkastischem Augenzwinkern auf die Finger. Verkopfte Moralapostel sind die vier Vollblutpunks nicht. In den Texten wird sich Luft gemacht, Dinge angepackt. Das „Blatt" vor dem Mund gibt es nicht. Wortwitz, Selbstironie und die für SERUM 114 absolut notwendige Gradlinigkeit gehören ohne Umschweife dazu. Esche ist als Sänger da federführend und besitzt den anderen Blick. So direkt und grob die vier Frankfurter Jungs mit ihren Zeilen in den Songs auch zuschlagen mögen, ein zweites Betrachten lohnt sich definitiv. Hier werden schwierige und komplexe Thematiken angefasst, kontrovers und intelligent umgesetzt. Ob Kriminalität, Drogensucht, Kindesmissbrauch oder Amokläufe. SERUM 114 legen den Finger in die Wunde: Man bietet bewusst Angriffsfläche, fängt die Kritiker aber spätestens beim zweiten Hören schon im Ansatz ab. So entpuppt sich „Zu Fett" nach wiederholtem Lauschen als handfeste Kritik an der Magersucht von Möchtegernmodels, die meinen, sie hätten mit einem Gewicht von vierzig Kilo zu viel auf den Rippen. „Alphatier" wendet sich gegen prollige Provinz HipHopper, in deren dicker Hose sich oft nur heiße Luft verbirgt. „Lass uns Feinde sein" geht davon aus, dass jeder Mensch einen Feind als Gegenpol hat.
