Led Zeppelin - Stairway To Heaven - 45 RPM Special 20th Anniversary Commemorative Edition Atlantic Records vinyl 45 RPM of "Stairway To Heaven" by Led Zeppelin. Released in 1971 but did not chart as a single, yet is considered one of the top classic rock songs of all time. The 45 RPM single was NOT issued to the general public. Three separate promotional 45 RPM single releases by Atlantic Records were made in 1972, 1973, and this one in 1991. All three issues are highly prized by record collectors. Atlantic Records would not dare to even consider shortening this song for the 45 RPM single! This 45 RPM has a running time of 8:00 printed on the label. The USA's biggest radio station - Musicradio 77 WABC in New York City did NOT play this in the early or mid 70's when it was red hot everywhere else. Many WABC fans consider not including this song on it's playlist at that time as a major mistake looking back. WABC did finally begin playing Stairway in 1979, but by that time it was way too late in the game. To hear this in STEREO, add "&fmt=18" to the end of the URL and then refresh. 45RPM David Bowie - The Laughing Gnome David Bowie's first major hit 'Space Oddity' was another two years away, when he wrote and recorded this track in 1967 for the Deram label. Deram Records was set up by Decca Records (UK) ostensibly as a label for "alternative" or "progressive" artists. Mint copies of this 7" single, with an 'inverted' matrix number printed on the label are worth in the region of £70. My copy has the matrix number the right way up and is worth around £5.
