Ableton Live 5.2 turntable set. 2 Here's an uptempo set, it's not finished yet. I trigger drumkits within Ableton Live with the M-Audio trigger finger, I record the drums into an empty clip slot and then add layers of sound on top of the drums. I also use the crossfader within Live which is assigned to a number of tracks ...very cool feature. p.s. Scratching in 90 degree weather SUCKS!!! AirPiano - Controlling Ableton LIVE www.airpiano.de The AirPiano is an innovative musical interface which allows playing and controlling software instruments simply by moving hands in the air. Berlin Calling: New film starring Ableton Live! New film starring Ableton Live! How many music software products can claim to be filmstars? As far as we know, only one: Ableton Live. A new film, "Berlin Calling", not only features some outrageously prominent onscreen footage but also stars renowned DJ and long-time Live user Paul Kalkbrenner in the leading role. A big thank you to Paul and the film's director, Hannes Stöhr, for giving us such wonderful publicity. The plot goes something like this: Berlin electronic music composer Martin (Paul Kalkbrenner), known as DJ Ickarus, is touring with his manager and girlfriend Mathilde (Rita Lengyel) from club to club around the globe and is about to release his biggest album to date. All of his plans are thrown out of kilter, however, after Ickarus is submitted to a psychiatric clinic high on drugs after a gig. Scratching in Ableton Live: ammobox A demonstration of my new instrument ammobox. ammobox allows you to scratch audio by triggering samples asyncronously with MIDI, the turntable provides velocity and rotation control. What you see on the screen is me dropping MIDI notes into an Ableton Live MIDI loop, as each note is hit, it injects the sample into the stream allowing me to scratch it. It should be noted that this is a pretty unique method in that it allows you to 'latch' sounds and hold on to them after they would have terminated due to the note-off event or the sample being over, you can then overlay samples and build up layers of them while scratching.
