TAP Airbus A310 Low pass turn Portugal Airshow 2007, Evora PILOTS, DON'T TRY THIS BY YOURSELVES! MANEUVERS SHOWN HERE WERE INTENSIVELY TRAINED BEFORE THIS AIRSHOW, INCLUDING POSSIBLE EVENTUALITIES LIKE CROSSWIND, WINDSHEAR, AND VARIOUS FAILURES THAT CAN OCCUR. SAFETY IS ALWAYS THE FIRST TO OBSERVE IN A FLIGHT, SPECIALLY IN AIRSHOWS! -------------------------------------- ADDITIONAL INFO: On this post, CV990 reveals all passes you see in this video were SERIOUSLY PLANNED AND TRAINED: http://www.airliners.net/discussions/general_aviation/read.main/3612868/1/#1 The pilot on this great performance flight was Cap. César Brito no less than the TAP Airbus A310 fleet last Chief Pilot...this awesome pilot have 4.000 hours on the A310 and TAP wanted to pay the best tribute for almost 20 years of service in TAP without an accident. The airplane involved was CS-TEI and the co-pilot of that flight was Vitor Pereira. Has you know, from November on TAP will start to receive 5 brand new A330-200 fresh from the factory. This incredible performance shows the great pilots TAP have during all these years, just to remind you in early 60's the famous Capt. Marcelino passed UNDER Tagus bridge with a Boeing 707!!! -------------------------------------- UPDATED INFO: I spoke with an A310 TAP pilot. Following are FACTS, NOT RUMORS: 1. Capt. César Brito is still flying, because he did in the airshow EXACTLY what was planned and trained to do. That was not a stupid idea executed in a moment, it took weeks of preparation. 2. Brito knew perfectly how Evora airfield is. He's playing with an optical effect; the other side's ground has a slightly downward form. 3. Co-pilot was another A310 commander, and during the show he was focused in altitude to continuously report to César. 4. Plane passed a complete overhaul just before this airshow, so the risk of failures was minimum. 5. Plane continued flying with passengers until retired soon, but after a reccommended inspection by Airbus officials. -------------------------------------- To say a bit about how I recorded this video, I was in the organisation team in the Copa Triangular de Vuelo Acrobático at Portugal Airshow, so I was able to record this really close to it. First passes are recorded very close to the runway; the jet blast hit me plenty! The last one is recorded from CTVA temporary control tower in Evora. That A310 was really great!!! If you liked this video, please visit the link below and I'll try to bring better videos to you... :) http://www.metacafe.com/watch/838897/tap_airbus_a310_low_pass_turn_portugal_airshow_2007_evora/ Thank you a lot! :) Tags: Airbus A310 TAP low lower pass fly flyby portugal airshow evora 2007 pasada baja air show turn passes vuelo amazing big |

Ukraine Air Show Disaster - Sukhoi SU-27 Crash The Ukraine Air Show crash of a Russian SU-27 jet is considered the worst air show disaster in history. The Ukraine air show disaster happened on August 7, 2002 in Lviv, Ukraine. A Russian made Sukhoi SU-27 fighter jet was performing a maneuver at low altitude when it clipped the ground and became a somersaulting fireball into spectators. Eighty five people were killed and over hundred spectators were injured during the crash. The pilots, who ejected to safety, were ruled at fault for the crash. 2008 Jones Beach Airshow - F-22 Raptor & Heritage Flight F-22 Raptor Demonstration Major Paul "Max" Moga USAF Heritage Flight F-22 Raptor & P-51D Mustang Maj. Moga & Ed Shipley 2008 Jones Beach Airshow Jones Beach State Park Jones Beach, New York Sunday May 25, 2008 IN THIS VIDEO, watch as Major Paul "Max" Moga flies an absolutely SPECTACULAR demonstration in the F-22 Raptor. Keep in mind that this aircraft is flown in its complete combat configuration, with all of its weapons carried internally. The Raptor possesses a clean configuration when completely combat configured, as weapons and fuel tanks hung externally from the aircraft will compromise its stealth characteristics. The aircraft's maneuverability is exceptional. You've seen demonstration videos of Sukhois and MiGs from Russia and the Ukraine perform almost the same maneuvers that Max flies in the Raptor, but Max's F-22 is in a combat configuration, while the MiGs and Sukhois are stripped down for their demonstrations. Following the demonstration, you will see Max join up with Ed Shipley - founder of AirShowBuzz.com - in a P-51D Mustang (yes, he's flying Glamorous Gal!) for a Heritage Flight. Like what you've seen? Well, if you are interested in purchasing DVDs of specific aircraft and/or of airshows, interested in anything and everything related to airshows (where the jet teams will show up, all airshow performers, airshow reports from airshows I have attended, previews of airshows I will be attending, etc.), a much more easier to navigate "version" of all of my videos, and/or everything there is related to aviation - including spotting guides to my favorite airports and military bases and aircraft factfiles, please take time to check out Steve's Airshow World at http://www.stevesairshow.com . Ace Combat Zero Airshow "THE PLAYERS ARE AGGRAVATED. WE'VE HAD ENOUGH PRACTICE- BRING US ONLINE!" (That would be the full name of the video :P ) Piloted mostly by myself (using both controls)- so manuevers were quite limited to what I've had time so far to practice with. (About an hour last night, spend all day today cutting and splicing scenes together) Eventually going to try to do more complex manuevers like cobras, immelmans, etc. As in the end credits, the film is dedicated to Namco, Ace Combat fans, Neoseeker's Ace Combat forum fanatics, and Beterhans who made a pretty badass airshow film that inspired me to take a crack at it. Thanks folks! So yeah.. Online. REQUIRED FOR ACE06! Ace Combat X for the psp may be the first Ace game with some sort of online/link connectivity, and hopefully that should be enough to inspire Namco to broaden the range of playability a bit. More vids to come in the future! Tags: Ace Combat Airshow |

Archangel 2005 Airshow The Hellenic Air Force or HAF (Greek: Πολεμική Αεροπορία) is the air force of Greece. Its mission is to guard and protect the Greek airspace, provide air assistance and support to the Hellenic Army and the Hellenic Navy as well as humanitarian aid (upon request) in Greece and around the world. In 1911 the Greek Government appointed French specialists to form the Hellenic Aviation Service. Six Greek officers were sent to France for training, while the first four "Farman" type aircraft were ordered. The first Greek aviator was Emmanuel Argyropoulos, who flew in a Nieuport IV.G "Alcuin" fighter, on February 8, 1912. The first military flight was made on 13 May of that year by Lieutenant Demetrios Kamberos. In June, Kamberos, flew with the "Daedalus", a Farman Aviation Works aircraft that had been converted into a seaplane, setting the foundations of the Naval Aviation. That September, the Greek Army fielded its first squadron, the Aviators Company (Λόχος Αεροπόρων).The Hellenic Air Force participated in the Balkan Wars, World War I, the Asia Minor Campaign, and World War II. Initially it consisted of the separate Army Aviation and Naval Aviation, but in 1930 the Aviation Ministry was founded, establishing the Air Force as the third branch of the Hellenic Armed Forces. In 1931, the Air Force Academy, the Scholi Ikaron was founded. During the Second World War, it successfully resisted the Italian invasion in 1940, but practically the entire force was destroyed by the Germans in April 1941. The Air Force was rebuilt in the Middle East as part of the Royal Air Force, flying Spitfires, Hurricanes and Martin Baltimores. After Greece's liberation in 1944, it returned home and subsequently participated in the Greek Civil War. In the 1950s, the force was rebuilt and organized according to NATO standards. The Greek Air Force participated in the Korean War with a transport flight unit. Greece participated in NATO nuclear weapons sharing until 2001, using A-7 Corsair IIs to deploy U.S. tactical B61 nuclear bombs from Araxos Air Base.Until the late 1980s the Air Force deployed Nike-Hercules Missiles armed with U.S. nuclear warheads. As a result of Greco-Turkish tensions around the 1974 Turkish invasion in Cyprus, the U.S. removed its nuclear weapons from Greek and Turkish alert units to storage. Greece saw this as another pro-Turkish move by NATO and withdrew its forces from NATO's military command structure from 1974 to 1980.In 1988 the first 3rd generation fighters were introduced, marking the beginning of a new era: The first Mirrage 2000 EG/BG aircraft were delivered to the 114th Combat Wing and equipped the 331 and 332 squadrons. In January 1989, the first F-16C/D Block 30 arrived in Nea Anchialos (111th Combat Wing) and were allocated between the 330 and 346 squadrons. In March 29, 1991 the RF-84F were retired from service after 34 years and 7 months of operational life. In November 1992 more RF-4E were delivered to the 348 Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron. In 1997 the reception of third generation aircraft continued. In July, delivery of forty F-16 Block 50 begun. The new aircraft, equipped with the (LANTIRN) navigation and targeting pod as well as AMRAAM and HARM missiles, were allocated to the 341 and 347 squadrons. In 2005, Greece was among the first countries to add the F-16 Block 52+ to its inventory. Sixty of these aircraft were acquired and another thirty are currently in order. This advanced F-16 type is an improved version of the Block 50 featuring a more powerful radar, better communications systems and an upgraded engine. The Hellenic Air Force's Block 52+ belong to the 337, 340 and 343 Squadrons with call signs "Ghost", "Fox" and "Star" respectively. 337 SQ is based at Larissa Air Force Base (110 Combat Wing) and the other two in Souda AB (115 CW).Today, the Hellenic Air Force has a total fighter fleet of 275 modern, upgraded or under upgrade aircraft and due to retirement of some fighter units that have ended their circle of operation,HAF is looking forward to acquiring new 3rd and 4th generation fighters in order to reach a total number of 300 modern fighters, according to the "2007 Supreme Air Force Council Momentum" published in 2007. Such goal is to be gradually reached until 2015. Prime candidates for a 4th generation aircraft, of which acquisition is considered certain, are the Eurofighter Typhoon, F-35 Lightning II (JSF) and Dassault Rafale. The camo extensively used is the Aegean Ghost theme (Φάντασμα του Αιγαίου). Note that Greece has placed an order for 20 additional F-16C Block 52+ and 10 F-16D Block 52+ aircraft. Also, the purchase of modern fourth generation fighters is likely to follow due to the A-7 Corsairs being gradually retired from service. Happy **4th** of July (2007 Rhode Island Air Show) http://www.YouIncMarketing.com Happy Independence Day, (Rhode Island Air Show)(Ri Air show 2007. (Galway air show) Thus may the 4th of July, that glorious fourt of julyand ever memorable day, be celebrated through America, by the sons of freedom, from age to age till time shall be no more. Amen and Amen." Virginia Gazette on July 18th, 1777 Schoolchildren in America learn the basic history of the events surrounding the Fourth of July, but the details of this monumental occasion in American history somehow fall through the cracks. Although July 4th is celebrated as America's official split from Britain's rule and the beginning of the American Revolution, the actual series of events show that the process took far longer than a single day. Taxation without representation! That was the battle cry of the 13 colonies in America who were forced to pay taxes to England's King George III with no representation in Parliament. As dissatisfaction grew, British troops were sent in to quell any signs of rebellion, and repeated attempts by the colonists to resolve the crisis without war proved fruitless. The original resolution was introduced by Richard Henry Lee of Virginia on June 7, 1776, and called for the Continental Congress to declare the United States free from British rule. On June 11, 1776, the colonies' Second Continental Congress, meeting in Philadelphia, formed a committee with the express purpose of drafting a document that would formally sever their ties with Great Britain. The committee included Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Roger Sherman and Robert R. Livingston. The document was crafted by Jefferson, who was considered the strongest and most eloquent writer (nevertheless, a total of 86 changes were made to his draft!) The final version, the document that we know as the Declaration of Independence was officially adopted by the Continental Congress on July 4, although the resolution that led to the writing of the Declaration was actually approved two days earlier. The following day, copies of the Declaration of Independence were distributed and, on July 6, The Pennsylvania Evening Post became the first newspaper to print the extraordinary document. On July 8, 1776, the first public readings of the Declaration were held in Philadelphia's Independence Square to the ringing of bells and band music. All of this had occurred with some of the delegates to the Congress not even present; New York, for example, did not even vote on the resolution until July 9th. (Did you know that that not a single signature was appended to the Declaration on July 4th. While most of the fifty-six names were in place by early August, one signer, Thomas McKean, did not actually sign the Declaration until 1781.) One year later, on July 4, 1777, Philadelphia marked Independence Day by adjourning Congress and celebrating with bonfires, bells and fireworks. The custom eventually spread to other towns both large and small, where the day was marked with processions, oratory, picnics, contests, games, military displays and fireworks. Observations throughout the nation became even more common at the end of the War of 1812 with Great Britain. On June 24, 1826, Thomas Jefferson sent a letter to Roger C. Weightman, declining an invitation to come to Washington, D.C., to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. It was the last letter, Jefferson, who was gravely ill, ever wrote. In it, Jefferson says of the document:In 1777, thirteen guns were fired, once at morning and again as evening fell, on July 4 in Bristol, Rhode Island. Philadelphia celebrated the first anniversary in a manner a modern American would find quite familiar: an official dinner for the Continental Congress, toasts, 13-gun salutes, speeches, prayers, music, parades, troop reviews and fireworks. Ships were decked with red, white and blue bunting. In 1778, General George Washington marked the Fourth of July with a double ration of rum for his soldiers and an artillery salute. Across the Atlantic Ocean, ambassadors John Adams and Benjamin Franklin held a dinner for their fellow Americans in Paris, France. In 1779, July 4 fell on a Sunday. The holiday was celebrated on Monday July 5. In 1781, Massachusetts was the first legislature to recognize the Fourth of July. In 1783, Moravians in Salem, North Carolina held the first celebration of the Fourth of July in the country with a challenging music program assembled by Johann Friedrich Peter. This work was titled the Psalm of Joy. In 1791, First recorded under "Independence Day" name. In 1870, the U.S. Congress made Independence Day a holiday, albeit unpaid, for federal employees [1] In 1941, the U.S. Congress made Independence Day a federal paid holiday. [edit] Toasts It is often customary to deliver a toast or a short speech at a 4th of July celebration. Listen to the a Family Party Toast Media:http://playaudio-345.com/play.asp?m=422645&f=XMJXMV&ps=6&p=1 Family Party Toast Today, on the Fourth of July, let us remember Roosevelt's Four Freedoms of this country, and the entire world. First, there's freedom of speech and expression. To say what is on our minds. To shout, if we want to. Next, is freedom of every person to worship in his own way. Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist and on and on... Third, is freedom from want. We all deserve food, clothing and shelter. Let us pray for the world. Finally, there's freedom from fear. We should be free from terrorism and war. This is our goal, our mission. Happy Independence Day, everyone. Kid's Toast We all know what day it is. It's the Fourth of July, the day the Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776. The people who signed it were doctors and lawyers and farmers, but they were really just like you and me. They were uncertain about the future sometimes, and they got tired and hungry. They were leaders. The founders of our country. On this Fourth of July day, let's think about these important men. Let us silently thank them for helping to build our nation. And let us remember the ladies who stood by them. They helped too. Happy Fourth of July! Courtesy of speech [edit] Customs Originally entitled Yankee Doodle, this is one of several versions of a scene painted by A. M. Willard that came to be known as The Spirit of '76. Often imitated (or parodied), it is a familiar symbol of American patriotism.Independence Day, the only holiday that celebrates the United States, is a national holiday marked by patriotic displays. Similar to other summer-themed events, Fourth of July celebrations often take place outdoors. Independence Day is a federal holiday, so all non-essential federal institutions (like the postal service and federal courts) are closed on that day. Many politicians make it a point on this day to appear at a public event to praise the nation's heritage, society and people. Speeches and editorials may invoke American Revolutionary themes such as the founding fathers (including John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry, and George Washington), the Constitution, the Liberty Bell, and democratic principles such as liberty, freedom, equality under the law, inalienable rights, and representative government. Families often mark the Fourth of July with a picnic or barbecue, and take advantage of the long weekend or off-day to gather with relatives. Decorations (e.g., streamers, balloons, and clothing) generally are colored red, white, and blue due to the colors of the American Flag. Because Independence Day is in the summer, bathing suits have once in a while been given the American flag design. Parades are often held in the morning, baseball games played (July 4th being nearly halfway into the baseball season), and fireworks displays in public parks in the evening. Other traditions include face painting for children and tossing of a football or frisbee. [edit] Fireworks Independence Day fireworks are often accompanied by a pops orchestra playing patriotic songs such as "The Star-Spangled Banner", "God Bless America", "America the Beautiful", "My Country, Tis of Thee", "This Land Is Your Land", "Stars and Stripes Forever", and, regionally, "Yankee Doodle" in northeastern states and "Dixie" in southern states. Some of the lyrics recall images of the Revolutionary War or the War of 1812. While the "1812 Overture" refers to Russia's defeat of Napoleon, it has been traditionally used by the Boston Pops and broadcast nationwide on PBS, so many Americans also associate this musical work with the July 4th fireworks. "The Star-Spangled Banner", the USA's national anthem, commemorates the United States flag that was visible by the light of the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air. This view of the flag through a night of bomb bursts inspired the captive Francis Scott Key during the War of 1812, and provided hope for the United States as it defended Fort McHenry. Music for the Fourth has been largely traditional, as noted above, evoking themes of patriotism. Some contemporary compositions are titled so as to lead the listener to think the song's theme is patriotic, when it is not. "Happy Birthday America" by "Randy T." of Baton Rouge, Louisiana is a song that does seem to directly address the Fourth of July holiday as a celebration of a progressive nature. Firework shows are held in many states, and many fireworks are sold for personal use or as an alternative to a public show. Safety concerns have led some states to ban fireworks or limit the sizes and types allowed. Illicit traffic transfers many firecrackers from less restrictive states, showing that the American people have nevertheless found a way to celebrate "with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations." Most fireworks shows in the United States end in an intense finale, with a volley of fireworks rapidly launched almost simultaneously. Major displays are held in New York and Boston harbors and on the National Mall in Washington, DC. Detroit, Michigan and Windsor, Ontario also host one of the largest fireworks displays in the world over the Detroit River each year to celebrate both American Independence Day and Canada Day during the Windsor-Detroit International Freedom Festival. Jet Crash - Hillsboro, Oregon Air Show 2006 A 1951 Hawker Hunter crashed into a house near the Hillsboro Airport during the 2006 Hillsboro Air Show on Sunday, July 16th. The pilot was killed upon impact. The resulting explosion caused three homes to catch on fire, but no one on the ground was hurt. The plane supposedly experienced a "flame out," which is a total loss of power. Watch the video clip and commentary to see the plane drift below trees and explode in a cloud of smoke.
