My Top Ten Bassists ****PLEASE READ**** As most top 10 videos go here on youtube as they have been doubtful to the users, like there fucking time magazine critics, I Don't care if you say little gay fucking remarks like, AHA! There not metal or something like EW WHY THEM!, seriously for those of you who do that shit need to go and see a fucking therapist. if you kids are gonna do it on here, then fine, make yourself look like 2 year olds and fucking faggots, Get a life and instead of bitching to me about my video fucking problems, make your own, so people could bitch on yours. Anyways, this video was made directed produced and edited by none other then myself (thebeastsnumber666) This video has all bassists from all different genres of music..well mostly rock n roll, and metal of all types to be specific, I did not do this video in the way to include a bit of people from each style of music I liked, I choose people from different genres because of their skill, not because I liked them, although I do, The pictures In This Video I hope arent blurry,A couple were in the process of making it, although I use the program since I have a windows computer, I use WMM, Otherwise known as Windows Movie Maker.. The Screens pretty little of were editing takes place to capture the flim itself, so don't give me a hard time about that its not really my fault, I had been working on this project for a long time and I am very pleased to say that it is finally out. And Also to the statement of how the screens so small of were editing to capture the film itself takes place, I would just also like to add that many people have macs, and sorry but I refuse to go and buy a $1300 buck computer when the one I have is fully capable of everything I need, anyways feel free to comment rate and subscribe, thanks 666 Tags: rock roll metal heavy black death thrash guitarist drummer vocalist and of course bassist made created by myself 666 |

Cliff Burton (Metallica) vs David Ellefson (Megadeth) A showdown of two of the best bassists in metal. Cliff Burton: Original Metallica bassist Ron McGovney left the band in 1982 due to conflicts with the band members, primarily lead guitarist Dave Mustaine. Cliff Burton, the former Trauma bassist, was brought on to fill the vacant spot. Cliff quickly became one of the most recognizable bassists in metal. He was known for his wild bass solos and his use of effects that were normally only used on regular guitars. Cliff recorded on Metallica's first three albums: Kill 'Em All, Ride The Lightning, and Master of Puppets. Metallica grew from an underground metal band in the Bay Area to one of the biggest bands in the country. Unfortunately, Cliff would never see the full extent of Metallica's success. On September 27, 1986, Metallica's tour bus flipped over while traveling through Sweden. Burton was killed. On their next album, ...And Justice For All, Metallica dedicated the song "To Live Is To Die" to their fallen bandmate. David Ellefson: David Ellefson moved to Los Angeles from Minnesota after he finished high school in 1983. He planned on attending a music school, and eventually joining a "glam rock" band. This all changed one day, though. Ellefson was playing the bass in his apartment early one morning, when a flower pot came crashing down on his air conditioner from the apartment above. "SHUT UP!" He heard the person who threw the pot yell. It turned out that the person who threw the pot was none other than Dave Mustaine. Mustaine had been fired from Metallica for conflicts with the other band members as well as his drug and alcohol abuse. Ellefson eventually gained enough courage to go upstairs and ask Mustaine where he could buy cigarettes. Mustaine and Ellefson went down to the local liquor store to get cigarettes and beer and the two hit it off. Mustaine took Ellefson under his wing and showed him thrash metal. Ellefson was hooked and the two formed the band Megadeth. Through the many line-up changes, Mustaine and Ellefson were the two constants. Ellefson recorded on the albums Killing Is My Business... And Business Is Good, Peace Sells, But Who's Buying, So Far, So Good... So What?, Rust In Peace, Countdown to Extinction, Youthanasia, Cryptic Writings, Risk, and The World Needs A Hero. Megadeth broke up after Mustaine suffered a sever nerve injury in his arm. After he recovered, Mustaine offered for Ellefson to return to the band. Ellefson refused, however, due to a legal dispute between himself and Mustaine that formed during the break-up period. SCHOOL BOY CRUSH - bassline I know there are A LOT of bassists who are against playing the bass with a pick (I used to be one of those), but I've come to realise it has it's uses, though I'm a total klutz when it comes to pick-playing. A lot of great songs feature great bassists using a pick! (Anthony Jackson, Joe Osbourne, Bobby Vega, Carol Kaye and Paul McCartney to name but a few) It's all about getting different tones out of the instrument. This song is easy enough for me to play without the pick flying off somewhere. Hopefully, I'll get the hang of it someday! Krist Novoselic Tribute This is a tribute to the bassist of nirvana and in my opinion one of the best bassists. He never gets the credit he deserves in fact he's more often that not undercredited, I've seen plenty of people called him average or un-talented. Kurt Cobain got all the headlines as the writer, singer etc. and Dave has gone onto to a succesfull career after Nirvana in music. Krist has stayed out of the spotlight. He's probaly my favorite member out of nirvana and always has a smile on his face or is trying to make a joke, he always always happy to speak in interviews when Dave was shy and Kurt uninterested. No matter what people say about him, he got me into playing Bass. I wasn't even interested in Guitar let alone bass until I heard Nirvana and saw videos of him live. His basslines are really catchy, and when he played live he got the tuning perfect and he was just as important to Nirvana as Kurt and Dave. Also lets not forget quite simply he is a member of the greatest band ever. Post your Krist Novoselic tributes and appreciation here. Song: Come As You Are - Nirvana (I chose this as it has a very prominent bassline) Includes quotes and pictures Tags: Krist Novoselic Nirvana tribute |
