I'm not really a gamer but Belkin marketing manager Leo Cheng seemed pretty excited to show the "n52te" that in some cases/video games could replace both a mouse and a keyboards. Cheng point out the backlighting, joystick knob and the on-board memory for programmable keys. He uses it to play World of Warcraft but said it works well too with Counter Strike and Starcraft. The n52te is compatible with Mac and PC, not consoles though, and will start shipping mid-November for about $70. Belkin : Skype, mobile & Wifi in Amsterdam As I could tell in an audio podcast a few days ago, Belkin made it's European Press Presentation in Amsterdam on 22nd of August. What I told in this podcast is that I've been able to test the use of the new Wireless WiFi Belkin Skype Phone with my Mobile Phone which is equipped with WiFi and Windows Mobile. My mobile phone which works on GSM network is a quadriband Qtek 9100. As we were experiencing the new Belkin draft N router called N1, I wanted to see whether my personal mobile phone would be able to connect to the network and having connections to Internet or whatever. My Qtek was already configured with skype that I use at each time I have a WiFi connection. It could work with a GPRS connection but I pay the amount of data for this type of use In fact, seing the new Belkin skype phone at the same time was also a good occasion to test it as a mobile phone equipment of the home with another device which is a real mobile phone in the terms that it works normally on GSM network even when it is connected with WiFi. As you can see on the film shot on the press exhibition, the belkin mobile uses a nice small display which is easy to use because it has the same kind of user friendly menus that the original skype software gives. In the test, we try to call my mobile which is already connected to skype network on internet through the Belkin N1 router. Belkin : Skype, mobilité et Wifi à Amsterdam Comme j'ai pu l'expliquer dans un podcast il y a quelques jours, Belkin a fait sa conférence de presse européenne à Amsterdam le 22 août dernier Ce que je disais dans cet enregistrement, c'est que j'avais pu tester l'usage du nouveau telephone sans fil WiFi de Belkin avec mon telephone mobile classique GSM fonctionnant sous Windows Mobile et doté de Wifi Mon mobile est un Qtek 9100 quadribande Puisque nous étions en train de tester les nouveau routeur Belkin N1 basé" sur la technologie Draft N, prémice de 802.11n, je voulais voir si mon téléphone pourrait se connecter au réseau pour accéder à Internet, ma messagerie et autres. Mon Qtek disposait déjà de Skype en version Windows Mobile, installé et configuré. Je l'utilise à chaque fois que je bénéficie d'un accès Wifi. Il peut fonctionner en GPRS mais comme je suis facturé au volume de données transférées, cela n'a pas d'intérêt. En réalité, bénéficier de la présentation simultanée du telephone sans fil WiFi Skype de Belkin était une aubaine pour évaluer la liaison avec un autre mobile, cette fois, un GSM capable de faire tourner le logiciel Skype tout en restant joignable par le réseau GSM. Tout ceci dans un environnement tout à fait comparable à celui d'un réseau domestique des plus communs pour un abonné à l'ADSL. Comme vous pouvez le voir sur les sequences filmées au cours de cette presentation presse, le mobile belkin exploite un petit écran des plus agréables avec une interface des plus simples puisque très proche de l'interface utilisateur du logiciel Skype que l'on trouve sous Windows et Mac OS Dans ce test, on essaye de joindre mon mobile GSM connecté au réseau Skype sur Internet via le routeur Belkin N1. It'll be the smallest the California maker released so far and includes the "ClearScan" feature that tells what is the best and clearest FM station to turn to, to listen to your iPod content. The TuneBase plugs into the cigarette lighter and the iPod through the integrated cradle. It also has a line out to connect to your radio if it has a line in and includes a high contrast display. TubeBase will be priced at around $90.
