Real Boeing 747 Flight Simulator READ ME FIRST: Upon attending a fund raiser for a school, I won the bid for an hour in a professional flight simulator. The joke here is that the people that go to this facility are ALL professional pilots who are getting cross-trained on different planes or re-certified. And here I am, basically walking in 'off the street', and sitting at the control console of a Boeing 747. It was an absolute incredible experience. I really have a lot of respect for commercial airline pilots, since there are many activities going on in the cockpit at the same time! Boeing 737 crashing maintenance car on the track A Boeing 737-300 crashed a car left on the track, on the 30th of december 2007, on Henri Coanda Airport in Bucharest. The plane, belonging to TAROM and carrying 123 persons was heading to Egypt (Sharm-El-Sheikh). While taking-off, (11:27), on a very foggy weather, the pilot saw a car on the track, right in front of the plane, and a couple of people running from it, one to the left and one to the right. The plane, which was running with 170 km/h, crashed the car, turned left, got meters from the track and stopped on its belly, with the left engine destroyed and touching the ground. No one was hurt. Official cause of the accident at the moment: misunderstanding between control tower and the technical crew on the track. The video was taken by a teen passenger seated on the right-hand side of the aircraft, which show the 737 experiencing a sudden impact during its take-off roll. [RO] In dimineata zilei de 30.12.2007 un Boeing 737-300, apartinind companiei TAROM, se pregatea sa decoleze spre Sharm-el-Sheikh, Egipt, de pe aeroportul Henri Coanda din Bucuresti. La ora 11.27, in timp ce accelera pentru decolare, pilotul a observat in ceata densa, in fata sa, pe pista, o autoutilitara si doi oameni fugind, unul spre stanga si unul spre dreapta. Avionul, avind deja o viteza de 170 km/h, a izbit masina, s-a inclinat spre stinga, a iesit de pe pista cu cativa zeci de metri si s-a oprit pe burta, sprijinit in motorul stang. Nici unul din cei 123 de pasageri aflati la bord nu a fost ranit. Cauza oficiala a accidentului la acest moment: coordonare necorespunzatoare intre turnul de control si echipa de interventie, aflata pe pista. xxx Potrivit raportului preliminar, activitatea de balizaj era efectuată de un agent autorizat, iar echipa de întreţinere, formată din patru oameni şi două autovehicule, lucra cu aprobarea turnului de control. Una dintre maşini se afla la 600 de metri de pragul pistei, iar cealaltă la 1.500 de metri faţă de acelaşi prag. Cronologic, evenimentele de duminică s-au desfăşurat astfel: Ora 10.49 - o echipă de întreţinere a sistemului luminos al pistei a cerut aprobarea turnului de control pentru a intra pe pistă în vederea curăţării balizelor. Ora 10.57.40: muncitorii au primit aprobarea pentru a intra la lucru, iar la 10.59.47 turnul de control a solicitat eliberarea pistei pentru că urma să aterizeze o aeronavă. Pista a fost eliberată la 11.04.14. La ora 11.08.47, echipa de balizaj a fost reautorizată să intre pe pistă pentru continuarea lucrului. La 11.26.07, aeronava ROT 3107 a primit aprobarea pentru decolarea către staţiunea egipteană Sharm El-Sheikh. Între 11.26.40 şi 11.26.50 turnul a întrebat balizajul dacă pista e liberă şi nu a primit niciun răspuns, dar aeronava a fost autorizată de turn să decoleze. Se pare că muncitorii erau pe pistă, iar staţia de emisie-recepţie se afla în interiorul maşinii de întreţinere. În plus, maşina nu avea în funcţiune sistemul de girofaruri. La ora 11.27.04, după ce a rulat aproximativ 600 de metri, la o viteză de 177 km/h, avionul a intrat în coliziune cu unul dintre autovehiculele de balizaj. Ciocnirea s-a produs în zona motorului unu şi a trenului principal de aterizare stânga. După impact, aeronava a ieşit lateral de pe pistă, pe partea stângă, şi s-a oprit la o distanţă de 137 de metri lateral de axul pistei şi 950 de metri de pragul pistei. Nu au fost victime, dar aeronava a suferit deteriorări substanţiale, trenul de aterizare şi aripa stângă fiind complet distruse.
