Montreal Canadiens 2007-2008 Habs Hysteria ok, so I took a muse song and a song from Tomoyasu Hotei and blended them together (better this time) and then I took like two hours to put together the video and did everything but take the photos myself...remixing the two songs together editing in live commentators and live game audio and well....that's it. I think it's my best yet....didnt want to do the video transition thing....i think it's cheesy...i did it twice though beginning and ending...hope you habs fans enjoy it!! Pierre le Canadien Pierre le Canadien tells the story of a man who trained as part of a bomber unit but became a guerilla fighter for the French Resistance. Born in 1920 in the town of Radisson, Saskatchewan, to Ukrainian immigrant parents, Peter Dmytruk's life was much like other. In 1941, he enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force and became a Lancaster Bomber tail-gunner. He was joining the elite Vancouver Pathfinders squadron, whose bravery and skill were legendary among Allies and Axis troops alike. Dmytruk was sent to England, where he began flying night raids into Germany. In March 1943 his plane was shot down over occupied France. Peter parachuted to safety. Resistance fighters who had connections to help downed airman return to England found him. In the town of Les-Marters-de-Veyre he met the fiery Antoine Llorca, leader of the local French Resistance unit. Llorca arranged for passage to Spain. Peter, however, had had enough of fighting in the air. He had witnessed the resilience and courage of the guerilla Resistance against the Nazis. He told Llorca that he would fight on in France, as part of the Resistance. Now in a band of guerilla fighters, Peter hid out in the hills of the Auvergne region in southern France, raiding and bombing Nazi targets. His fellow soldiers marveled at his courage and determination and gave him the nickname Pierre le Canadien. On December 9th of 1943 Dmytruk's short career in the Resistance sadly and accidentally came to an end. He had accompanied a Resistance leader to another town to help translate for a recently rescued fighter pilot. At the same time another Resistance corp sabotaged a train carrying Nazi's and their equipment. Just after the locomotive was derailed outside Les-Marters-de-Veyre, Pierre and his commander, on their return home, came to face to face with the surviving angry Nazis. A bullet through the windshield killed Peter instantly. His partner was wounded but escaped to tell how the young Canadian died. To this day the town's people believe Dmytruk's death helped save them from other Nazi reprisals for the derailment. This is also why the town still commemorates his death with a parade and wreath laying on the first Sunday of every December.
