Sorry but it was impossible to keep my granson quiet when a train passed but I hope you enjoy the trains in this scenic part of the West Wales Coast. The Gwili Railway is a living reminder of a Great Western Railway branch line set in the breathtaking Carmarthenshire hills. The trip down memory lane starts at Bronwydd Arms Station, and the steam train follows the route, originally taken by the Carmarthen to Aberystwyth line to a delightful halt at Danycoed. Red Squirrels in Wales - Gwiwerod Coch This is a short Welsh language video about Brechfa's Huw Denman's efforts to conserve the red squirrel in mid Wales and Carmarthenshire. In the video he describes the situation of the red squirrel and how the alien grey squirrel has caused the red squirrel to become almost extinct in Wales, except for a few conifer woods in north east Carmarthenshire and a few other locations. He explains that the true habitat of the red squirrel is the native broad leaved woodlands of hazel and oak. The video first appeared on S4C on the afternoon programme Wedi 3 (After 3) and was produced by local production company Tinopolis from Llanelli.
