Lot S88 1969 Chevrolet Yenko Chevelle 427 425 HP Auto Don Yenko gave the 1969 Chevelle the same loving attention he lavished on the Camaro, but in smaller numbers, building 99 copies against 201 Super Camaros. The Chevelles were given the same iron-block L72 427 with solid-lifter cam, aluminum intake manifold and an 800-cfm Holley four-barrel. Chevy rated the unit at 425 hp but, as usual, the actual figure was higher. The car could be ordered with either of two heavy-duty four speed transmissions or a Turbo-Hydramatic 400 operated by a console mounted Hurst Dual Gate shifter. A 12-bolt 4.10:1 Positraction rear was standard equipment. This 1969 Yenko Chevelle is a very low-mileage example that has been preserved to ninety percent originality. The driveline and chassis have been restored to return those components to the same condition as the rest of the car. The Hugger Orange, Black vinyl roof and Yenko stripes work particularly well together; it's a classic look reinforced by the Rocket wheels and Goodyear Wide tread White-letter tires. The clean Black interior is outfitted with factory-optional bucket seats and AM radio, and Yenko-installed Stewart Warner tach and under-dash gauges. The frame and driveline restoration indicate concours-quality attention to detail, with all correct markings and proper component finishes. The engine compartment displays the same commitment to authenticity, completing a restrained renovation of an already excellent car. The result is a 26,000-mile, beautifully fresh Yenko classic that can tear it up just as it was meant to. Even if you've never seen the movie (which you should totally go out and buy if you haven't) please watch it anyway because this took me four days of hard work. I also ripped the DVD myself so its in HQ. This was a great learning video to start with and thank you to kalisclark for sending me Sony Vegas 7 and SexyCheeseNipNinja (yoda, lmao) for helping me with all my questions. To fully understand the video it would help to know what the movie is about.
