La segunda etapa no varió mucho el escenario. Chile nuevamente se volcó al ataque y Argentina que no aparecía, es más, Lionel Messi, el candidato al mejor jugador del mundo, era una sombra. A los 61 entra por el costado derecho Suazo, quien remata y Carrizo ataja a medias hacia el centro del área chica. La pelota la recibe Droguett este que dispara de primera y Díaz que saca con su cabeza de la raya. Era el segundo para los nacionales. Los rojos estaban prendidos y no querían bajar sus pulsaciones, mientras las 65 mil almas que llegaron a Ñuñoa no paraban de cantar y alentar a su equipo.
