Coraline Sneak Preview "So, for your enjoyment (I hope), a small Christmas present. The first Coraline footage to be released to the world. (It's not really from me. Laika and Focus chose it and did all the hard work, the Web Goblin did all the building it in the background. I just claim the glory and bask in the reflected wossname.) Coraline (2009) Clip - The Story of Coraline http://www.CentralMovieNetwork.com/tmd.htm Coraline (film) Coraline is a 2009 animated stop-motion fantasy film based on Neil Gaiman's novella of the same name. It will be animated and co-directed by Henry Selick and Mike Cachuela and is scheduled to be released in theaters on February 6, 2009. Coraline Plot The story of a young girl who unlocks a mysterious door in her new home, and enters into an adventure in a parallel reality. On the surface, this other world eerily mimics her own life--though much more fantastical. In it, Coraline encounters such off-kilter inhabitants as the morbidly funny Miss Forcible and Miss Spink, and a counterfeit mother--who attempts to keep her. Ultimately, Coraline must count on her resourcefulness, determination, and bravery to get back home. Coraline Production Coraline as depicted in the film.Laika Entertainment House (formerly Vinton Studios) has funded the film with around $50 to $70 million. Coraline is the first stop-motion animation to be shot stereoscopically with a dual digital camera rig for digital 3-D exhibition. New tools are being developed which will give the stop-motion creators the same flexibility as CGI animators, making it possible to push objects forward and back in post-production. Dakota Fanning will star as the voice of Coraline. Teri Hatcher will lend her voice to the roles of both Coraline's Mother and her Other Mother. Ian McShane will voice Mr. Bobinski, a beet-eating Russian giant who lives upstairs from Coraline in her alternate reality. The soundtrack will be provided by the rock group They Might Be Giants. On December 22, 2007, Neil Gaiman put up a sneak preview of some early but not quite final footage of the movie. On May 22, 2008, in an interview with Bloomberg.com, producer Bill Mechanic said, "It's a long process, but it's almost finished." On August 11, 2008, A Behind-the-Scenes Featurette was released containing unfinished clips of the film, interviews, and behind the scenes look at the production. A new featurette will be released on Rotten Tomatoes every day of that week. Coraline Voice cast and Character info Dakota Fanning as Coraline-self proclaimed explorer, she is young, clever, and as curious as they come. She is often aggravated by rain, crazy grownups (as they all seem to be), and not being taken seriously because of her young age and quiet demeanor. Perhaps her single biggest pet peeve is that everyone mistakes her name for Caroline (everyone in the real world at least, except the mice and her parents). Teri Hatcher as Coraline's Mother / Coraline's Other Mother- Coraline's Mom works at her house on the computer. She is very busy most of the time, but she loves and cares about Coraline. The Other Mother is creator of the other world, during the film her appearance changes to reflect spider like qualities. John Hodgman as Coraline's Father / Coraline's Other Father- Coraline's dad works at his house on the computer which he spends most of his time on (his job). He cares about Coraline very much. The Other Father is a swigging singing man created by the other mother, and fears the Other mother greatly. Keith David as The Cat- A black cat from Coraline's world (as opposed to that of the Other Mother). The cat acts as a mentor to Coraline and guides her through her journey. Ian McShane as Mr. Bobinski- The film version of Mr. Bobo from the book. He is a russian who once trained in the circus. His other world counter part is the ring master of a circus of Rats. Jennifer Saunders as Miss Forcible and Dawn French as Miss Spink- A pair of retired actresses. They own several stuffed Scottie dogs, and talk in theater jargon, often referencing their time as actresses. They recognize the danger Coraline's in after reading her fortune through tea leaves. In the other world the stuffed Scottie dogs are alive and behave like humans. Wybie played by Unknown Actor is a character original to the movie. In the real world he is described as an annoying neighbor kid. His other world counterpart is the most helpful person to Coraline. In the Film he possesses a mask that he wears when outside, later on when Coraline goes into the other world, there appears to be a another person who wears the mask and rides around on a motorcycle. Henry Selick created Wybie mainly so Coraline would not be walking around and talking to herself. Coraline Release Focus Features will distribute the film. Coraline appeared at Comic-Con 2007. A teaser is shown with the movies Beowulf, U2 3D, and Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert. Coraline Video game On June 16, 2008, D3Publisher of America announced it will release a video game based on the film. The Coraline game is being developed by Papaya Studio for consoles and by Art Co. for Nintendo DS. It will be released in the first quarter of 2009, in close proximity to the film's theatrical release. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coraline_(film) Tags: official coraline caroline movie trailer theatrical film preview teaser cinema Laika Neil Gaiman Henry Selick animation Neil_Gaiman Dakota Fanning |

CORALINE SNEAK PEEK WEEK - Day 2: Crafting the World of Coraline Rotten Tomatoes and IGN are holding a special event, showing a series of exclusive featurette about the making of Henry Selick's next animated masterpiece, "Coraline" over the course of the week. Here is Day 2, which touches on how Coraline's world is made. "Coraline", a dark tale by Neil Gaiman, details a young girl that has found a supposedly idealized copy of her home, but not everything is as it seems. It takes considerable wit and imagination to bring the strange and wonderful sights of "Coraline" to life, but Henry Selick and his crew at Laika Entertainment House are up to the task! This featurette features interviews with Henry Selick, the director, and Neil Gaiman, the writer, discussing the creative process needed to bring the lurid descriptions of Coraline's world to life, and shows exclusive clips from the film and footage of the production, displaying the creative team's incredible vision. This clip is shown courtesy of Rotten Tomatoes and IGN. "Coraline" ©2008 Focus Features and Laika Entertainment House. CORALINE SNEAK PEEK WEEK - Day 4: Meet the Inhabitants of Coraline's World Coraline is surrounded by a bizarre cast of characters in her world and "other world" and in today's featurette, day four of Coraline Sneak Peek Week, we'll meet them, and hear who they are from the film's director, Henry Selick, the writer Neil Gaiman, and the cast that plays them. Coraline, of course, is the protagonist, sprightly, excitable and quick-witted. Her mother is very businesslike and often has no patience for her, while her father is a blundering but fun lug. Coraline's neighbours include Mr. Bobinski, a bizarre Russian man who claims to be starting a "mouse circus" and keeps shoving beets down Coraline's throat, and a new character for the movie: a boy her age named Weiby Lowvat. In Coraline's copy house are idealized versions of these characters, including Mr. Bobinski who actually HAS a mouse circus, an Other Father that is as smooth as it comes, and a version of Weiby that's a lot less of a gross goof. The Other Mother seems like the best one of all, an ideal parent, lavishing love and attention on Coraline, but in reality, she's the most sinister creature there is. CORALINE SNEAK PEEK WEEK - Day 5: Coraline in the Higher Dimensions "Coraline" will be the first stop-motion animated film specifically designed for 3D projection. In this featurette, day 5 of Coraline Sneak Peek Week, the filmmakers discuss the process of shooting in 3D, and about how uniquely terrifying it is. The director, Henry Selick, has made a stop-motion film that later had 3D added ("The Nightmare Before Christmas"), but "Coraline" is shot specifically with a 3D camera. Stop-motion, since it uses real models, puppets and materials, is one of the most eerily real forms of animation there is, so 3D is a natural fit for Coraline. In this featurette, we'll see just what kind of 3D tricks director Henry Selick and writer Neil Gaiman have up their sleeve! This clip is shown courtesy of Rotten Tomatoes and IGN. Moonlight Coraline Lance White Wedding I have made Lance exceptionally wicked. He was scary wasn't he? Of all the vampires on the show he and that death row vamp are the only 2 who scared me. Man they are creepy! The story: Lance is a very disturbed vampire. He has carried on with his "sister" (I don't actually know if they are real brother/sister or are brother/sister due to a shared sire) for centuries! She escaped from him and has started a normal life with Mick. But Lance returns to re-claim her and to take her form Mick. He warns Mick to stay away from his sister because she belongs to him. Lance pursues Coraline relentlessly. Coraline fears her brother and tries to run, to hide from him. Lance finds her at the lab and is furious that she is trying to run - he grabs her intending to punish her but Mick saves her. Mick does not heed Lance's warning, continues his relationship with Coraline and the two of them try to escape in the night but Lance shows up as they are leaving. He is no tone who likes to be disobeyed! Coraline is horrified when Lance puts an image from the past in her head and he tells her they will be together again. Mick attacks Lance to stop him! Lance decides to finish this once and for all. He is through letting Mick stand in the way of his desire for Coraline and is about to kill him. Coraline can't bear the thought of Mick being gone forever so she stops Lance form killing Mick by agreeing to the one thing that she has been trying all these years to escape from. It's a pretty dark story but this song was perfect for it! Tags: Moonlight Lance Coraline MickStJohn alex o'loughlin shannyn sossoman |

CORALINE SNEAK PEEK WEEK - Day 3: The Story of Coraline Here is part three of a week-long preview of Henry Selick's newest movie, "Coraline", shown exclusively by Rotten Tomatoes. In this featurette, Henry Selick and writer Neil Gaiman describes Coraline's unusual tale. She lives a life that's way too normal and her parents ignore her, when she finds a small, bricked-off door in the den. However, at midnight, it turns into a portal to another version of her house where everything is wonderful and magical, and she has more idealized copies of her parents that lavish attention on her and are much better cooks. However, she soon realizes that it's a trap set by the Other Mother to ensnare her and take her soul. "Coraline" is adapted from an award-winning novel by Neil Gaiman, enchanting yet chilling. Henry Selick details how he is treating his story with his own stop-motion genius. This video is shown courtesy of Rotten Tomatoes and IGN. Moonlight Coraline Lance: Hey Little Sister... THIS IS THE BAD QUALITY VERSION - I HAVE PUT UP A MUCH BETTER VERSION CALLED: "MOONLIGHT CORALINE/LANCE WHITE WEDDING" AND WOULD SUGGEST THAT YOU TO WATCH THAT ONE INSTEAD. IT REALLY IS MUCH BETTER. The only reason I have not removed this version is because it has been favorited 10 times and I don't want to mess that up for any one. This video is all about Coraline's brother. I have made Lance very, very wicked. He was scary wasn't he? Of all the vamps on the show he and that death row vamp are the only 2 who really scare me. I hope they bring Lance back! Enjoy!
