08/19/07 Minnesota Flooding Wabasha Winona Fillmore Counties Footage I shot for CNN in Southeastern Minnesota of the flash flooding and aftermath from the floods. This footage was shot in several areas. It starts out in Wabasha County near Kellogg MN on Highway 61 with the highway flooded out from the Whitewater River. Then I went to Beaver MN and documented the Beaver Creek turning into the Beaver River with a massive flash flooding slamming up against the bridge and washing out the road. Then I shoot some footage in Rushford MN which was one of the worst places since the levee was topped and the town was flooded out just like New Orleans from what I was told. Mishap of B-52 at Fairchild Air Force Base Washington Please try to keep from using vulgarities and profanity. I feel we can make our points without using profanity. I have no problem with calling the pilot a jerk, however remember there can be children viewing this thread so try to keep suitable for public. July-7-2007 As far as I know is the first time this much of the video has been made readily available to the GP when I posted this on Youtube. ;) More footage then I have seen on the net on this subject. Mishap 24 June 1994, a B-52H of the 325th Bomb Squadron, 92d Bomb Wing http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1994_Fairchild_Air_Force_Base_B-52_crash In this photograph you can see what is apparently an ejection hatch. http://img464.imageshack.us/img464/210/b52crsh2cf5.jpg This photograph was shot in mid-impact with the ground. http://img464.imageshack.us/img464/945/b52crash3rj9.jpg The photographs were shot in-between the time frame that there was apparently a plasma ball from the wing clipping power lines. US air show standards are the highest, but this was a case of systemic disregard for safety. Since this crash, the bar has been set higher more enforcement and awareness. It bothers me to see some other counties still have very poor safety at major air shows. The former soviet block has had several crashes that I would consider safety neglect a factor, if not the cause. Aerobatics should not be done over crowds. Aerobatics should be kept in a safe margin away from the crowd and to some extent the flight line. I even frown on extremely low passes over crowds. Pilots and management/command should have restraint from flying planes to extreme limits at air shows. A margin / buffer zone should be between the aerobatic area and the crowd. The B-52 was just practicing; if he had crashed in a crowd at an air show the loss of life would be high. The B-52 did some low high speed passes over personnel area and flight line; if there was a failure, he could have possibly destroyed all the aircraft on the flight line (and equipment, buildings) or and killed a lot more personnel. I love aircraft and air shows and the US. I hate to see a bunch more rules, I would prefer pilots and people in charge do there best to keep things safe with knowledge, reasonable action. I think the US and many other countries have learned from this accident to take air show safety more rationally. However, a few air shows like to try to out perform other air shows with unsafe flashy showboat shows. When you push the limits you tend to exponentially increase the risks. If a pilot makes a goof or if there is a failure, with buffer zones the risk to the crowd can be minimized. --- On 24 June 1994, a B-52H of the 325th Bomb Squadron, 92d Bomb Wing at Fairchild Air Force Base (AFB), Wash., crashed while preparing to land after practicing maneuvers for an air show, killing all four crewmen. The pilot in command had over a long period of time demonstrated a disregard for Air Force flying rules and regulations, and this was known by the senior commanders in the wing. No appropriate action had been taken to discipline him or rein in his noncompliant behavior. More info at http://s92270093.onlinehome.us/CRM-Devel/resources/paper/darkblue/darkblue.htm http://www.zoominfo.com/Search/PersonDetail.aspx?PersonID=14464006 In my opinion, I would consider this pilot a superb "stick and rudder" pilot. However there is more to being a pilot and flight then "stick and rudder", in my opinion he was very poor in some aspects of safety. It's like a football player that is in excellent physical condition and physical ability, but ignores strategy and team effort. There is more to being a pilot than one aspect, just as there is more to being an athlete then a single aspect. Other good videos long videos of the same plane and pilot. Customer Nabs Robber Tulsa Police express their thanks to a citizen who helped them arrest an armed robbery suspect. The News On 6's crime reporter Lori Fullbright reports police say a 44-year-old American Airlines employee is a hero and it was all caught on tape. The fight wasn't easy. The good Samaritan has injuries all because he was courageous enough to try to save himself and others in the Food Pyramid store, near 51st and Memorial, from a robber who seemed ready to hurt someone. The robber walked into the store with his face completely covered and his gun already in his hand. He told the employees and customers to move to the front of the store. When a customer bent down, the robber fired a shot that barely missed the customer's head. Then, the robber's gun jammed and that's when the good Samaritan, Greg Stutzman, jumped on the robber and the fight was on. The battle moved through the store, out into the entryway and eventually outside. Despite getting hurt in the process, Greg never gave up. If it wasn't for Greg, police say they'd have no idea who the robber is, because, just as in previous Food Pyramid robberies, he was masked up and not identifiable. Stutzman has their gratitude and even though they don't recommend fighting with robbers, they believe he did it just right. "You have to win the fight. You gotta keep going. You can't quit because it hurts, and this guy proves you can win," said Tulsa Police Sgt. Dave Walker. Officers arrested 38-year-old Tony Cleveland. Records show he has a number of robbery and assault convictions from Hughes and Oklahoma Counties, including a 25 year sentence in 1987. Detectives say it's clear Cleveland isn't going to change his ways, so they hope he gets sent back to prison and they say a conviction in this case, should put him there for the rest of his life. #87 - Most Viewed (Today 8/10/08) - News & Politics - Canada #75 - Most Viewed (Today 8/10/08) - News & Politics #38 - Most Viewed (Today 8/10/08) - News & Politics - Mexico #83 - Top Rated (Today 8/10/08) - News & Politics Tags: tulsa oklahoma attempted robbery |

GUSTAV HURRICANE HURACÁN New Orleans residents get out of Gustav's way. CUBA SUPERA AL GUSTAV EN CATEGORÍA 4 340km/h 31/08/08 New Orleans residents get out of Gustav's way By BECKY BOHRER -- 1 hour ago NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Hurricane Gustav charged across the Gulf of Mexico on Sunday as residents fled New Orleans and the National Guard prepared to patrol evacuated neighborhoods in a city still recovering three years after Katrina. Gustav dropped from a Category 4 to a Category 3 storm overnight, but forecasters warned it could gain strength from the gulf's warm waters before making landfall as early as Monday. Long before Mayor Ray Nagin's mandatory evacuation order took effect Sunday morning for the city's vulnerable West Bank, residents were already streaming out of New Orleans and other communities along the Gulf Coast. Bumper-to-bumper traffic was reported in nearly every direction out of New Orleans, and on Bourbon Street, where the party seemingly never ends, only stragglers toting luggage were sporadically seen on the sidewalks. Still, there were a few holdouts. "You'd be a moron" not to be worried about the storm, Inez Douglas said at Johnny White's Sports Bar & Grill. But while she was keeping an eye on the storm, she wasn't going anywhere. Gustav crossed western Cuba on Saturday and has already killed more than 80 people in the Caribbean. It picked up speed upon reaching the gulf and was moving northwest at 17 mph with winds of 120 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center's 11 a.m. EDT update. Hurricane-force winds extended 50 miles from the storm's center. Its center was about 325 miles southeast of the Mississippi River's mouth. The storm could bring a storm surge of up to 20 feet to the coast and rainfall totals of up to 15 inches. A hurricane warning for over 500 miles of Gulf coast from Cameron, La., near the Texas border to the Alabama-Florida state line, meaning hurricane conditions are expected there within 24 hours. Alabama Gov. Bob Riley issued a mandatory evacuation order Sunday for some coastal areas of Mobile and Baldwin counties. In New Orleans, Nagin used stark language to urge residents to get out of the city, calling Gustav the "the mother of all storms." "This is the real deal, not a test," Nagin said as he issued the evacuation order Saturday night. "For everyone thinking they can ride this storm out, I have news for you: that will be one of the biggest mistakes you can make in your life." Forecasters were slightly less dire in their predictions, saying the storm should make landfall somewhere between western Mississippi and East Texas, where evacuations were also under way. It's too early to know whether New Orleans will take another direct hit, they said, but city officials weren't taking any chances. The mandatory evacuation of the West Bank, where levee improvements remain incomplete, began at 8 a.m. local time, with the east bank to follow later Sunday. It's the first test of a revamped evacuation plan designed to eliminate the chaos, looting and death that followed Katrina. Residents of suburban Jefferson Parish, swollen by residents who did not return to New Orleans after Katrina, were also ordered to leave in the first-ever mandatory evacuation of the entire parish. The city will not offer emergency services to those who choose stay behind, Nagin said, and there will be no "last resort" shelter as there was during Katrina, when thousands suffered inside a squalid Superdome. The city said in a news release that those not on their property after the mandatory evacuation started would be subject to arrest. Many residents didn't need to be ordered, with an estimated 1 million people fleeing the Gulf Coast on Saturday by bus, train, plane and car. They clogged roadways, emptied gas stations of fuel and jammed phone circuits. At the city's main transit terminal, a line snaked through the parking lot for more than a mile as residents with no other means of getting out waited to board buses bound for shelters in north Louisiana and beyond. "I'm not staying for 'em any more," said Lester Harris, a 53-year-old electrician waiting at a bus pickup point in the Lower 9th Ward. He was rescued from his house by boat after Katrina. "I got caught in the water and spent two days on my roof. No food, no water. It was pretty bad." On Sunday, the lines were a much shorter. "I'll be glad when it's over and I hope it doesn't mess up the city too bad," said Johnny Clanton, 59, waiting with a bag, hoping to catch up with a friend who also planned to leave the city. The White House said President Bush's plans to attend the Republican National Convention on Monday were on hold because of worries about Gustav. Bush had been scheduled to speak late Monday night in St. Paul, Minn. Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff planned to travel to Louisiana on Sunday to observe preparations. And likely GOP presidential nominee John McCain and his running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, were traveling to Mississippi. The "Redwood National and State Parks" (RNSP) are located in the United States, along the coast of northern California. The parks consist of a combined area of 131,983 acres (534.12 km2) located entirely within Del Norte and Humboldt Counties and they protect 45% of all remaining Coastal Redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) old-growth forests, totaling at least 38,982 acres (157.75 km2). These trees are the tallest and one of the most massive tree species on Earth. In addition to the redwood forests, the parks preserve other indigenous flora, fauna, grassland prairie, cultural resources, portions of rivers and other streams, and 37 miles (60 km) of pristine coastline. In 1850, old growth redwood forest covered more than 2,000,000 acres (8,100 km2) of the California coast. The northern portion of that area, originally inhabited by Native Americans, attracted many lumbermen and others turned gold miners when a minor gold rush brought them to the region. Failing in efforts to strike it rich in gold, these men turned toward harvesting the giant trees[1] for booming development in San Francisco and other places on the West Coast. After many decades of unobstructed clear-cut logging, serious efforts toward conservation began. By the 1920s work of the Save-the-Redwoods League, founded in 1918 to preserve remaining old growth redwoods, eventually resulted in the establishment of Prairie Creek, Del Norte Coast, and Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Parks among others. Redwood National Park was created in 1968, by which time nearly 90% of the original redwood trees had been logged. The National Park Service (NPS) and the California Department of Parks and Recreation (CDPR) administratively combined Redwood National Park with the three abutting Redwood State Parks in 1994 for the purpose of cooperative forest management and stabilization of forests and watersheds as a single unit. This degree of collaboration between the National Park Service and a state park system is unique in the nation. The ecosystem of the RNSP preserves a number of threatened animal species such as the Brown Pelican, Tidewater Goby, Bald Eagle, Chinook Salmon, Northern Spotted Owl, and Steller's Sea Lion.[2] In recognition of the rare ecosystem and cultural history found in the parks, the United Nations designated them a World Heritage Site on September 5, 1980,[3] and an International Biosphere Reserve on June 30, 1983. DriveAbout 111 - Redwood National Park, CA Redwood National and State Parks, Imponenti ed antichi, i giganteschi Redwood ci sovrastano con la loro magnificenza. "This forest also had the most incredible furry trees that seemed to come alive!" -Hilary The "Redwood National and State Parks" (RNSP) are located in the United States, along the coast of northern California. Woman Brutally Attacked by Gestapo Storm Troopers at DNC- Unedited Version Martial Law at the DNC If you deny that the U.S. is CURRENTLY under Martial Law you are not only locked into complete psychological denial you are an imbecile and a fool. Time to awaken; it is the Fall, the days are growing shorter. Martial Law actually used to be called "Maritime Law" because Navies used to be the controlling/policing entity and primary military force of the globe. Then it was changed to "Martial Law." Some still use "Maritime Law" especially old salty dogs. But either way; local "law enforcement" and Homeland Security have basically fully made the transition into Federal Agents now. After George HW Bush called up Martial Law in 1992 due to the Los Angels "Riots" of 1992 when the 1st Marines from Camp Pendleton, California and the 1st Armored Infantry Battalion form Fort Ord, California were deployed upon the city of Los Angeles. Under George HW Bush and for the first time in the history of the United States Posse Comitadus was repealed and US Federal Troops invaded their own country and killed their own people. George HW Bush never truly and fully repealed his declaration of Martial Law once he called for it and that's why he made his infamous "New World Order will be a success" speech that we all know and love so well... Then it was only a matter of his son capturing the Throne so he continue the work his father King George I had began. King George II has since installed 27 "Presidential Directives", forced the FISA bill on the nation, empowered FEMA and created Homeland Security which all together completed his fathers earlier work and finalized the official but "unannounced" transition into full "Martial Law." Modern Definition of Martial Law: Martial law is when military-like actions are taken upon a nations own citizens and constitutional and human rights are violated on a regular basis as part of a standard operating procedure (SOP). It is when you cannot protest without a "permit" and your freedom of speech is silenced. It is basically what they call a "police state". It is when the "police" are trained by and act like federal officials/military police rather than the civilian peace keepers they are supposed to be. It is when random AND permanent checkpoints are set up by Homeland Security and police officers like they have now all over the country especially along interstate-highway 8 and 10. Many believe that martial law is ONLY when the actual Army/Marines/National Guard patrol the streets but this is incorrect as these troops are committed in Iraq and Afghanistan and attending to the other 1100 U.S. military bases that are outside of the U.S. Homeland Security and the local police departments have been trained by federal agents and are federal agents and in these modern times are now enforcing obvious martial law. The days of the Army rolling down the street in tanks is over as it is unnecessary because the U.S. citizens have been pacified enough and Homeland Security and the Police have been trained and armed enough to where this would surely be overkill. Besides there are US National Guard bases in the majority of 30,000+ population towns and the troops are committed overseas. A basic example of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for martial law would be the internment camps they have set-up in Colorado in preparation for the Democratic National Convention (DNC). If the country was not under martial law setting up these kind of warehouse-style camps which are being hidden from the media and the citizens would not be permitted by the city, county or state. Watch a White House press conference and/or go to your local court house and peak inside a court room and look at the American Flag. You will notice that the flag will have gold tassel around it's borders. If you understand this and have any education in these matters you would know in fact that it is a Federal Crime to attach ANYTHING to the American Flag. The ONLY thing that can be attached to the American Flag by Federal law under penalty of prosecution are GOLD TASSELS, GOLD FRINGE and they can ONLY be attached in the case of MARTIAL LAW ordered by the President of the United States of America. Of course under martial law information, education, news, networks and the internet (as seen nightly on FOX news and CNN) are censored therefor research on this subject is not the easiest although it can be done. The only reference/evidence that they could give were actual military/Department of Defense manuals in which the assertion of Martial Law and the indicators of the fringed and tasseled flag were referenced. http://www.apfn.org/apfn/flag.htm http://www.kriegbooks.com/the_flag.html http://www.barefootsworld.net/admiral...
