Lauderdale Courts Lauderdale courts was a houseing project for white people in Memphis when Elvis and his family moved there in 1949. The buildings have since been redesigned and are now called Uptown Square, but thankfully they have kept Elvis and his families apartment as it would have been in the years between 1949 and 1953 while they lived there. The building that Elvis stayed in is now a historical landmark and is unable to be changed, in the apartment the decoration is in the same style as it would have been when he was there...and you can even stay there for up to a week during the year, exceptions being Elvis' birth and death weeks and they hold tours then.
