Robert Cray and Keb Mo Singing "Bring It on Home To Me" DAMN these two are amazing, it was one of the best concerts i've been to, i can't say enough about them there two of the best blues artists out there today. ENJOY the video!! :D GREAT song by Robert Cray and Keb Mo "Bring It on Home to Me", concert in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada on August 30, 2007 at the Centennial Concert Hall. (If you can't hear in the video) The CD they have put out is a specialty item that is only sold for the Bring It Back Home Tour, only 1000 were made. The two song disc includes "Bring it on home to me" which is written and sung by Sam Cooke originally in the early 60's :) and "Baby, Scratch My Back" written by James H. Moore and sung by Slim Harpo back in the mid 60's, These are two great songs redone by Cray and Mo' just for their tour together. This is definitely a CD worth listening to and of course picking up for yourself if you can find it. Tags: Robert Cray Keb Mo Bring It on Home To Me |

Cray-1 Supercomputer 30th Anniversary [Recorded Sept 21, 2006] The life and machines of Seymour Cray are explored at the Computer History Museum in a panel lecture celebrating the Cray-1's 30th anniversary. Panelists include: Bill Buzbee (Los Alamos, NCAR), Bo Ewald (Los Alamos, Cray) and Jack Worlton (Los Alamos). Burton Smith (Tera, Cray) will be the evening's panel moderator. In 1976, Cray Research, Inc. delivered its first supercomputer to the Los Alamos National Laboratory, birthplace of the atomic bomb. The Cray-1, as it was known, was the fastest computer in the world and was a blend of Cray's unique engineering style and an urgency for high performance computing borne of cold war competition between the United States and the Soviet Union. For the next 30 years, Cray defined the limits of the possible for supercomputers by building the fastest machines in the world. In spite of the enormous influence on science and engineering of his machines, Seymour Cray himself worked in small groups in rural America and shunned publicity. How could this one man and his hand-picked team of people build the fastest computers in the world? What does the Cray-1 tell us about the engineering, social and economic factors that coalesce into creating a stable technological artifact? Why did much larger computer companies abandon the field of supercomputing to this small but powerful foe? What, exactly, were these incredible machines used for? These topics and more are discussed. Robert Cray ~ I Was Warned (Stereo) To listen in Stereo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WXSMnl8lgQI&fmt=18 Robert Cray (born August 1, 1953) is an American blues musician, guitarist, and singer. Cray started playing guitar in his early teens. At Denbigh High School in Newport News, Virginia, his love of blues and soul music flourished as he started collecting records. Originally, Robert Cray wanted to become an architect, but at about the same time he was going to study design in architecture he formed a local band "Steakface", described as "the best band from Lakewood you never heard of". Cray on guitar and vocals contributed greatly to Steakface's set list of songs by Jimi Hendrix, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Fleetwood Mac, The Grease Band, Blodwyn Pig, Jethro Tull, Spirit and The Faces. By the time he was twenty, Cray had seen his heroes Albert Collins, Freddie King and Muddy Waters in concert, and decided to form his own band. His band started playing college towns on the West Coast. After several years of regional success, Cray was signed to Mercury Records in 1982. His third album release, Strong Persuader, received a Grammy Award, while the crossover single "Smokin' Gun" gave him wider appeal and name recognition. By now, Cray was an opening act for major stars, such as Eric Clapton (who remains a friend to this day), and sold out larger venues as a solo artist. By the early 1990s his name was immediately associated with his soothing, soulful voice, crisp, clean guitar work, and innovative modern blues sound. Cray has generally played Fender guitars (Telecasters and Stratocasters) and there are two signature model Robert Cray Stratocasters available from Fender. The Robert Cray Custom Shop Stratocaster is made in the U.S. in the Fender Custom Shop and is identical to the guitars that Cray currently plays, while the Robert Cray Standard Stratocaster is a less expensive version made in Fender's Ensenada, Mexico plant.
