Alex Fraser Bridge This is just a quick little video for the Alex Fraser Bridge. The bridge is located in the Lower Mainland area of British Columbia. This bridge spans between Annacis Island and North Delta. I stumbled across some information on the web that may explain the 'after thought' appearance of the sidewalks. It seems that when the bridge first opened it only had four traffic lanes and two bicycle lanes all within the concrete deck structure. Sometime after the bridge was in operation it was decided to convert the bicycle lanes to car traffic and place bicycle/pedestrian walkways on the outside of the bridge. a wiki article resides here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alex_Fraser_Bridge The bridge was built by Buckland & Taylor: http://www.b-t.com/projects/alexfras.htm The soundtrack is: Patricia's Moving Picture by The GO! Team from the Proof of Youth CD Again, I'm just playing around with my digital camcorder and Kino running on Linux. And seriously Get on the bridge and check the bounce. Do it during rush hour when there are a lot of trucks and other heavy vehicles. The bounce is really noticeable where the suspended section meets the approaches. It's really creepy. Enjoy!! Best way to get there is to take the #104 Annacis Island bus from the 22nd street Skytrain station. Get off just after the Shell station and walk on over to the bridge. Beautiful Disaster - Part Two: Protect Here is the second installment of my Beautiful Disaster series. This one is called 'Protect' and it starts out with a recap of the first one to jog the memory. The songs are 'Fragile' by Delta Goodrem and 'Here With Me' by Dido. Summary: Claire and Sawyer have been kidnapped by the Others. Sawyer is being tortured and threatened that Claire will be harmed if he fights. Claire is being coerced into giving up her baby while being drugged. Sawyer breaks out and returns to camp to gather a team to go look for Claire. Little does he know that Alex was helping her escape... Disclaimer: I do not own Lost or the songs. Purely an entertainment vid. :D Tags: Lost ConMama Sawyer Claire |
