I did not make the picture, I thought it was funny so I incorporated it into the video. 56. This is about when Obama said that small town Pennsylvania clung to guns and religion. 57. I know this one was hard to read. The top map was for 2004. I have a dream that in 2008 all the states will vote Republican. 58. I'm sorry, I made a mistake. 10 out of 10 idiots are Democrats, they don't necessarily support Obama. 59. Self explanatory. 60. "Dem-o-crap? Wow, you're real mature." I can do without the sarcasm, but get all that liberalism out of you and get some common sense. Gay Democrat Debate in 10 Minutes Pure PANDERMANIA! Exit question: Does Silky remind you of Tom Cruise? From website 365GAY: (Los Angeles, California) The Democratic candidates for President made history last night by participating in the first-ever televised forum on LGBT issues. The most surprising comment of the evening came from Gov. Bill Richardson, who, in response to a question posed by singer/activist Melissa Etheridge said, that he believed that sexual orientation was a "choice." "I can't believe he meant that," said forum moderator and journalist Margaret Carlson afterwards. "As someone who as governor wants to bring domestic partnerships to New Mexico , he either didn't understand the question or needs to rethink." The candidates—Sen. Hilary Clinton, Sen. Barack Obama, Sen. John Edwards, Gov. Bill Richardson, Congressman Dennis Kucinich and Sen. Mike Gravel-each came to the stage solo for about 15 minutes to answer questions posed by Etheridge, Carlson, journalist Jonathan Capehart and HRC executive director Joe Solomonese. The conversations were broadcast live on Logo (which owns 365Gay) and online at VisibleVote08.com. Neither Sen. Joe Biden nor Sen. Chris Dodd appeared, citing scheduling concerns. For the most part, the candidates kept to the lines they had drawn in previous debates. All of the candidates supported repealing Don't Ask, Don't Tell; all want full civil rights for LGBT's - though the category "full civil rights" includes gay marriage only for dark horses Kucinich and Gravel; all supported rolling back the Defense of Marriage Act. Obama noted that he has made it a point to talk about gay issues to all audiences, including "the most important speech of my life [at the Democratic National Convention], in my announcement that I was running for president and to black ministers." Capehart noted afterwards that this was an important thing for the candidate to say. "Gay people often feel that they are separated, apart. This clip from Obama says no, you are a part of America ." One of the most emotional moments came when Etheridge told Clinton that coming out during President Bill Clinton's inauguration had made her "hopeful"—at first. Then, she said, tears in her eyes, "our hearts were broken, we were thrown under the wheels of the bus." Clinton responded that she disagreed with that interpretation, saying that with a very divisive Republican Congress, many issues weren't moved forward as quickly as she personally would have liked. She added that as President she would roll back the "assault" from the President and the Republicans on the LGBT community. "It's been demeaning and degrading. That will end. That is over." Edwards said that he was wrong, in an earlier debate, to state that he was against gay marriage because of his religious background, and that he felt very strongly both about equality and about the division between church and state. However, he said, "The time for political doublespeak is over. You deserve to know the truth. My position has not changed. I do not support gay marriage." Both Kucinich and Gravel stressed that they believed in full equality, including marriage, and that love between same-sex couples was just as valid and should be recognized the same as love between heterosexual couples. Logo reaches 28 million homes. MTV Networks chair and CEO Judy McGrath noted that there was no consumer backlash to the presidential forum; no advertisers had pulled out. She applauded the forum, saying, "I was humbled by it, exhilarated. It was too short. I wanted them to talk all day. This was a great moment in the history of civil rights." ★★Why I'm a DEMOCRAT in 2008★★ ★★THANX EVERYONE FOR THE SUPPORT!!★★ So this is my submission for the DNCC Convention contest. http://www.youtube.com/user/DemConvention But more important than the contest itself, is that my video crystallizes what I value and cherish most in this upcoming election. Of all the issues that face our great country, I am of the considered opinion that these four stand out: 1) War in Iraq and Afghanistan: Our armed forces have been fighting two different wars now for far too long. The current administration has strained our military and its strategic reserve; thereby, damaging our ability to respond to future threats. Obama will restore the military to a level of preeminence that our country deserves and will ask of these brave soldiers to make that sacrifice only when absolutely necessary. Obama will instill a sense of responsibility and moral standing back into our foreign policy: diplomacy over war. 2) Protecting the environment and global warming. The EPA has been nothing but a shell of its former self these past 8 years, and while we could have made large strides in actually protecting our environment by curbing CO2 emissions, increasing CAFE standards, and monitoring more effectively air and water pollution; we have done the opposite. Obama understands that we cant wait to make these changes any longer, that this planet we inhabit is the most precious asset we all share. 3) Providing affordable health care to EVERYONE as a RIGHT. We live in the wealthiest country in the world, yet we cant even provide basic health care to our citizens? IN the entire industrialized world - we stand ALONE in NOT providing some form of universal care, yet we spend more per capita than any nation, and we are behind nearly every one in quality and access. Do I really need to say more? 4) Correcting our sagging economy, the housing crisis, and increasing jobs here in the US. Obama will bring a renewed sense of urgency to protecting the average American citizen: focusing more on the concerns of main street than Wall Street. Special interests have had the ears of Republicans and Washington for far too long, and Obama will turn a deaf ear to them every day as he presides over our great country: taking away tax cuts from those companies that send American jobs overseas. In short, Barack Obama is the candidate best positioned to rectify our problems and bring a change to not only our great country but to the very fiber of every last one of us; not only in how our government functions, but how we function in our everyday lives. I, like the millions of my fellow Americans across this great country, yearn for one thing this November 4, 2008: CHANGE! It's time for change America, let's go out and get it! Good luck to everyone taking part in this contest and feel free to rate and comment. If I win, I would make it a goal of mine to talk to as many people as I can on the floor of the convention, and repost as much info here on YouTube that I can. I'm sure there will be some exciting moments. But regardless of who wins, the real election is on NOVEMBER 4th - so go out and register and then go out and VOTE!!
