Young Ghazenfar Ali sings at Punjab Lok Boli Mela 02 Music is an integral part of our society, with all the efforts in last 60 years it can not be separated from the people of Pakistan. Music is discouraged, disowned and not respected by the so called Ideological leadership or the state it self. There are no schools to groom budding artists but still the light of hope is there. Ghazenfar Ali is one of them and lives in Hasilpur, a town in district Bahawalnagar (southern Punjab). He was just 18 years of age when he gave this tremendous performance in Punjab Lok Boli Mela 2004 in Depalpur. Mela is a platform to encourage and polish the young artists. Punjab Lok Sujag is an organization working for the social uplift of people of Punjab since 1984. The language rights of the people of Punjab are the area of interest and activities for us. To celebrate the richness of our mother tongue and to discuss the varied issues attached with its development, we organized a festival -- Punjab Lok Boli Mela every year since 2004. In 2007 it will be held in "Jaranwala" district Fasialabad from 23rd to 27th November. It is being dedicated to our freedom fighter "Bhagat Sing" and will be staged near his home town. THE TOMB OF SHAH RUKN-E-ALAM-Multan The mausoleum of Shah Rukn-e-Alam is also situated on the fort mound. The Shaikh was the son of Pir Sadar-Al-Din Arif born at Multan on the 9th of Friday Ramazan 649/26 November 1251. He was the grandson and successor of Shaikh Baha-Al-Din Zakariya. Shaikh Rukn-i-Alam (Rukn-al-Din) died on the 7th of Friday (735/3 Jamadial-Awwal, January 1335). He was buried in the mausoleum of his grandfather, according to his own will. After sometime, however, his coffin was transferred to the present mausoleum. It was constructed, according to a popular belief, by Ghiyas-al-Din Tughluq (1340-1350) during the days of his governorship of Depalpur, but was given by Feruz Shah Tughluq to the descendents of Shah Rukn-I-Alam for the latter's burial. The mausoleum of Rukn-I-Alam has been admired by not only the travelers and chroniclers but also by the art-historians and archaeologist who wrote the architectural history of the subcontinent.
