Aristophanes - Ecclesiazusae (part 2 of 4) Cast: Diana Rayworth, Margi Campi, Yvonne Dalpra, Roger Sloman, John Halstead, Sean Kelly, Richard Albrecht, Cheryl Campbell. Editor, Carlo Arcamone; narrator, George Rose; music, Larry Dunn. directed by Philip Hedley "A Parliment of Women" or "Women in power" or "Assemblywomen" or Ekklesiazousai ("Ecclesiazusae" is the latinized spelling of that Greek) Benjamin Bickley Rogers writes: Reverting now to Praxagora and her scheme for the future government of Athens, we find that the main argument put forward in support of her proposed scheme is based on the more conservative character of the female sex. Men, she says, are always in quest of novelty and cliange. Women abide by their principles, and the women of the present day use the same customs and follow the same practices that their predecessors have used and followed throughout all generations. Athens, imperilled by the restlessness of men, will be saved by the steadfast and sober adherence of women to ancient methods and venerable traditions. Yet no sooner does Praxagora by these arguments and for these purposes obtain the reins of power, than she spontaneously develops a scheme so startling and so novel, as to throw altogether into the shade the wildest extravagances of the men. It is a scheme of naked socialism, involving the community of goods, the abolition of marriage, and (what is one-sidedly called) the community of women. How can we account for this singular phenomenon? It has no parallel in any other comedy of Aristophanes. The Chorus indeed will frequently go over to the side which it began by opposing, and sometimes one of the principal characters will yield to argument, or the stress of circumstances: but there is always enough in the play itself to determine and explain the change. Here, however, the heroine, who has been earnestly seeking power for one purpose, immediately employs it for the opposite purpose: her special mission being to put a stop to all political novelties, she at once introduces a political novelty so vast and revolutionary, that she doubts if the men can be brought to accept it. And there is not a syllable in the play to justify or account for her sudden change. It is therefore necessary to look for the determining cause in something outside the play itself....[Plato's "Republic" is then discussed] Tags: Aristophanes Ecclesiazusae Ekklesiazousai ancient-greek-comedy Assemblywomen performing arts |

Aristophanes - Ecclesiazusae (part 3 of 4) Cast: Diana Rayworth, Margi Campi, Yvonne Dalpra, Roger Sloman, John Halstead, Sean Kelly, Richard Albrecht, Cheryl Campbell. Editor, Carlo Arcamone; narrator, George Rose; music, Larry Dunn. directed by Philip Hedley "A Parliment of Women" or "Women in power" or "Assemblywomen" or Ekklesiazousai ("Ecclesiazusae" is the latinized spelling of that Greek) Benjamin Bickley Rogers writes: ....the coarsest passages of Aristophanes are mere comic buffoonery, enacted in the open air, not by actors and actresses before a mixed audience of men and women, but by men only before the male population of Athens, no woman being present. They are broad and plain-spoken, but never morbid and seductive, and could not be injurious to anybody, who didnot come to their study with a mind already corrupted and debased. As regards the observation just made that, at all events in the time of Aristophanes, no women were present at the performance of a comedy.... In every comedy of Aristophanes (with the exception of the Plutus) there are constant appeals to the audience; and frequently, as in Wasps 74-84, particular individuals are singled out for personal satire. Yet nowhere is there the slightest indication of the presence of a woman amongst the spectators. Contrast with this the case of Shakespeare. How rarely does he address the audience! How plain he makes it that women, as well as men, were spectators of his plays! Tags: Aristophanes Ecclesiazusae Ekklesiazousai ancient-greek-comedy Assemblywomen performing arts |

Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia- Best way to make money This video is probably gonna be spammed by those damn MMO bots but oh well. Anyways, one of the best ways to get money, I didn't make this method, I found it on Gamefaqs from a user called olats. To do this you need two Gold Rings (rare chests in Kalidus Channel) and the Inire Pecunia spell (Tristis Pass). Equip the two Gold Rings and activate Inire Pecunia, and double jump kick off this candle here, you'll bounce off to the upper screen, then kick down to grab 1000 gold and bounce up again, keep repeating this until you have as much gold as you want. There are other methods such as this same setup with the White Dragon in Misty Forest Road, or any other area with a candle you can enter/exit quickly, but this is probably easiest because all you have to do is hold down and mash B until you get tired. As you can see I had 809 gold when I started at 2:03 and 121,809 when I stopped at 3:33, so I made 121,000 gold in a minute and a half. After spending a total 100,000 gold at Jacob's shop, he'll give you the VIP Card. It cuts the price of the items you buy in his shop by 20%, pretty handy. ~~* Hildegard Von Bingen ~*~ O Ecclesia *~~ A Feather On The Breath Of God 1984 O Beloved, your eyes appear as sapphires, your ears as the mount of Bethel, your nose as mountains of myrrh and incense, and from your mouth issues sound, as a multitude of waters. Enraptured by true faith, Ursula gave her love to the Son of God, leaving behind men with the things of this world, and she gazed into the sun summoning the fairest youth, saying: "With the greatest desire I have longed to come unto you and cleave to you in heavenly marriage, hastening to you on this unknown path, like clouds that in the purest air appear to fly in sapphire." After Ursula had so said, a rumor spread through all the peoples. And they said: "This innocent young girl is ignorant of what she is saying." And in a single great sound they began to mock her, until a fiery burden fell upon her. Then they all realized that whosoever rejects this world is as the mountain of Bethel. And they also recognized the sweetest aromas of myrrh and incense, for disregard of this world rises above all. Then the devil entered into the bodies of his allies, and these women, in whom the most virtues had been incarnated, were slaughtered. Their voices were heard by all the Elements, who came before the throne of God, saying: "Ah! the ruby blood of each innocent lamb is poured out in betrothal to Heaven." Let all heavens hear, and in the greatest of symphonies give praise to the Lamb of God. Because the ancient serpent is suffocated by these pearls, made from the Word of God. .... ? .... Castlevania Order of Ecclesia Walkthrough Part 12 Hehehe, now this video, I had fun with. I haven't enjoyed making a video this much since probably my anniversary. The incrediable amount of failures on such a low level calls for one thing, BLOOPERS!!! XD I was having fun with my blooper reel. However, it didn't occur to me that I was really mad because I kept dieing so I had to bleep some stuff out, I forgot how much I actully swore. XD Oh, and that isn't all the takeouts, I was low on film so I erased probably 5 takeouts so I could finish up filming. And as for my cat, she's staring at me as I type this... o.O Thank You and Enjoy Tags: Castlevania Order of Ecclesia Walkthrough Part Shanoa Albus Barlowe Dracula |

Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia #10- Minera Prison Island 3, how to obtain the Cubus Glyph Finishing up the Minera Prison Island. 0:45- The searchlights here summon the Tin Man, yep, he's back from SotN and you'll see the game over screen quickly if you mess with him at this point in the game. He's weak to strikes, use the Macir Union twice to get him into his second phase, then just duck to avoid his missiles and attack him until he dies. As a reward for defeating him you get the Strength Ring, another tarot item and quite useful. 1:50- Getting the Glyph Sleeve Relic, it allows you to switch between Glyph setups by holding A and pressing L or R. You can have up to three Glyph combos to switch between! Exit from the right of this stage to unlock the Lighthouse. After that's finished, I head back to the Monastery to finally get that Cubus Glyph. 4:27- How to get the Cubus Glyph. Well, this is my way of doing it, it's definitely not the best and probably not the earliest. Use the sickle Union, then jump, hold left and use another Union, then quickly land and immediately start absorbing the glyph and you should be able to get it before the blocks cover it up. The glyph doesn't seem to be too useful, all it does it make more cubes...you can't even stand on them or anything. =/ Well I guess you could use it to block projectiles or something. Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia #40- Argila Swamp The Argila Swamp, another linear area like Ruvas Forest. The Mandrakes here drop Mandragora Roots, needed for Abram's third quest, make sure you get one. Nothing much here, make sure to avoid the Chosen Unes, they can poison you and mess you up pretty bad. Well, at least the little Unes got upgraded too. Tags: Castlevania Order of Ecclesia Playthrough Walkthrough Demon Castle Dracula The Stolen Seal Shanoa Albus Barlowe 悪魔城ドラキュラ 奪われた刻印 シャノア アルバス バーロウ |

Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia- Eligor (Hell Mode) Differences from Normal mode: Eligor's not so bad either, again, because he was such a pain the first time. His sword stab attack hits five times, but, if you're far enough from him, it can't hit you at all so he'll just be stabbing the ground. His front crossbow fires faster, you can avoid it with a Scutum combo or double jump/kick down. His giant sweep attack, while rare, can be avoided by crouching down near him (but not too close). You can tell he'll use it when he just stands there doing nothing for a few seconds. When you're under him, the left crossbow will attack you, either attack it to turn it back like I did, or use Scutum/Melio Scutum to block the arrows. It seems like he might try to stomp on you more times as well. His chain tail attack hits faster, you'll have to slide BEFORE you hear the sound to avoid it. For attacking I used Melio Acsia and Melio Macir with the best strength gear I could find at this point, and when I got up on the Eligor's back I Samuel L. Jackson'd his eye once again. It's surprising how much damage you can do even at level 1 with the right setup. Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia - No Damage Barlowe + Cutscene MAJOR SPOILERS!!!!! OMG, I DIDN'T use Vol Scutum. 8D If you didn't save all the villagers, then the game would end with the "worst" ending here with Shanoa casting the Union Glyph thus killing herself. Anyways, Vol Luminatio is the strongest glyph against Barlowe. He doesn't particularly follow any attack pattern, which is probably why he's kinda hard to defeat unscathed. He has quite an array of attacks. One attack is where he surrounds himself to what looks like a cage of thunder. First off, duck until he passes over you. Then double jump after and quickly kick down to the ground to avoid him. The down kick has to be done quickly. If you wait too long, you could actually bounce off of Barlowe and he'll hit you. Another attack is where he casts homing fire attacks on you. This one can be dodged easily with Vol Scutum - which is probably the best defensive glyph to use against many of Barlowe's attacks - or by dodging. The way I usually dodge is run and wait until two of the fires pass me and then slide three times to dodge the rest. Of course, there's other combinations of jumps you can use, so find one that you can get used to. Another attack is using the Globus glyph, which you can absorb to not only block, but absorb for keeps. If you want to absorb it however, you have to do it fast. If you miss the cue, he'll attack with it and it's not always easy to dodge. The way you can tell if he's gonna do it is if you see the blue part of the glyph about to form. Another attack he uses is where he puts one his books on the ground and freezes the ground. This can be dodged easily by hopping on Barlowe. Do NOT get caught by this ice attack. If you do, you'll get trapped for like...3 seconds or so and then Barlowe will strike you with a lightning attack and it hurts. I don't think you can escape being trapped by the ice once you're in it, but that's just me. The last attack that I'm knowledgable of is that weird attack where he seems to appear out of nowhere to punch you. By the way, that's the reason I set the voices back to English, because Barlowe can cue attacks by what he says. If you left the voice to English, he cues this attack by saying "Die Shanoa!" This one I can't help you too much with since I can't always dodge it with consistency, but you can use the Vol Scutum+Vol Scutum union glyph to dodge some of it. Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia #43- Villager Quests 7 More quests, this time I did Aeon and Abram's final quests. I also tried to do Monica's, but it was taking too long with the method I was using. For the Tasty Meat, you can find it in rare chests in Somnus Reef. Lorelai in this area also drops Merman Meat, and somehow not the Merman enemy. White Fomurs drop Cashmere Threads, but I found out that you can actually find them in rare chests in Misty Forest Road, so putting on your pirate hat and looking for treasure there would be better for that quest. Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia #11- Boss- GIANT ENEMY CRAB BATTLE and Lighthouse CRAB BATTLE with Brachyura and exploring the lighthouse. The crab in question will chase you up the tower; and break the ceilings. For the first round, get up all the way to the top left platform. He'll put his claw up, giving you some free hits, then immediately go back down to the lower left platform and duck. Keep swinging to damage him and get rid of the bubbles he shoots out. When he's about to break the ceiling, he'll slowly move his claw towards the left, jump up to the lower left platform. He'll turn red, then it's your cue to go back to the lower left platform. He'll hit the ceiling three times, after the second time, get up to the top platform and give yourself room to move, as soon as you hear his claw sound, back dash or run back to avoid it. Then he'll repeat his pattern of attacks. Just keep ducking and attacking. Then he'll hit it two more times and break the ceiling, now jump up to the top left and start climbing the tower. For the second round, repeat this same process, except he only takes two hits to break the wall, so you don't have to dodge his red attacks. For the third round, repeat the same strategy again except when he turns red stay in the upper left corner and crouch to avoid damage. Once he breaks the wall and his claw goes down, immediately start climbing. When you get to the top, jump up through the little space to get on the elevator, and press down to say goodbye to Mr. Crab. The Macir glyph is the best weapon for this battle, since crabs are especially susceptible to blunt objects (really, he's weak to strikes, so these do the most damage over time). Plus its Glyph Union can turn him red after just two uses. Lol at his medal, it really calls it a Giant enemy crab. 3:50- Saving the Villager Eugen, he'll give you armor in exchange for certain materials. Make sure you go up to the top of the lighthouse to get the Luminare Glyph, it's a very useful light elemental glyph. When you're done go back to where you saved Eugen and go left to find the Serpent's Scale and go left to exit. Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia #07- Boss- Giant Skeleton, Monastery Backtracking Boss fight with the Giant Skeleton. Acsia Glyph is wonderful here for racking up the damage and keeping your distance if you want that medal. The trick to this guy is that he'll back away from you if you hold up while using the Magnes Glyph, so do that to make him back off, then go forward and attack him, leading him back and repeating the process. Even without doing this he's not particularly hard to dodge since you have three magnets you can use to jump over him. After the fight I go back to the Monastery, filling in that secret room, and trying to get the cube glyph, but no such luck with Acsia. I'm gonna wait until I get the scythe Glyph, as that was how I got it the first time when I tried the Japanese version. Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia- Captain Barlowe (Intense Mode) Once again, use &fmt=18 for high quality, I don't know why it won't work now, maybe I need a little higher bitrate. Differences from Normal mode: Barlowe is harder, but not as hard as Albus became in my opinion. Glacius freezes the floor longer; a double jump won't cut it, you have to jump kick off his head. Right after Glacius he'll use Globus, you can avoid this by going behind him after Glacius. If not, don't worry, you can block the spheres with Scutum + Vol Scutum (this is a good way if you mess up absorbing the glyph too). His flaming books attack shoots more (?) and shoots faster, manually dodging is too dangerous, just stand below him and use Scutum to block. His electric cage hits twice, to dodge, you can use double jump/jump kick like Normal mode for both of them, or, if Barlowe is on a side of the room (but not near the middle) when he starts it, double jump over it to the direction he first charged, then get over to the corner of the room quick and duck, you should avoid it if he started it up near one of the sides. Finally, Barlowe Punch seems to move a bit faster, and he seems to use it more often too. For attacking dual Vol Luminatio is good, I didn't use Vol Acsia with it, since at level 1 you either pick physical or magical attacks, you don't have the stats to use both at once. Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia #53- Training Hall The Training Hall, the first and easier of the two hidden stages, and it definitely gives vibes of CotM, "Volaticus, the glyph of flight, cannot be used here." Also gotta love the remix of music from Dracula's Curse. It's straight up intense platforming, using Magnes, and double jumps and ducking at the right time. For the section with two Double Hammer Armors, I should've used Sapiens Fio, it would've gotten rid of the Bone Tower fast enough, but I still somehow got to the platform in time. The rest is straightforward, just don't forget you can do a jump after you get flung off from Magnes, this is necessary to get through here. For going through the training hall, you get a bunch of goodies, notably the Redire Glyph, which you can use with Magnes to turn the game into Spiderman. You can also get Gold Ores, Diamonds, High Potions, and Onyx in the regular chests, and one green chest at the end that either contains Robe Decolette (one of the best armors), Super Potion, Super Tonic, and Alexandrite, needed for Laura's final quest. I'd recommend going through it until you get the Robe and the Alexandrite, it's much easier to get it here than from the Large Cavern. For completing Laura's final quest, you get the Royal Crown, a very nice headgear with an increase in all stats. Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia - No Damage Albus + Cutscene ***SPOILERS*** Before starting this battle, make sure you've rescued all the villagers or you'll get the bad ending and not completely finish the game. Albus is actually not that hard. I actually had to hold back to get the glyph. Go for the glyph he exposes. I keep forgetting the name, but this battle is the only time you'll ever be able to get this glyph, so go for it. Vol Umbra is the best glyph here as Albus is most susceptible to darkness. Make sure you're kinda close to Albus at all times, but not right on him. If you're right on him, he'll use his Quad Ignis kick on you and it's pretty powerful. Being in the air for a while will also trigger that kick, so keep that in mind. Whenever he's about to attack, just slide past him, and you'll be fine. Soon after a while, he'll use that glyph attack that you absorb when you save the villagers. If you get hit by it, you'll be trapped for a few seconds. This battle should take 1-2 minutes at most. This music rawks. :D Tags: Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia Albus Cutscene |

Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia #44- Boss- Barlowe SUPER ULTRA MEGA SPOILERS! Watch at your own risk! Damn it. Well, plot twist time, well, the fight with Barlowe is pretty fun, and not too hard when you figure it out. For his fire attack, you can dodge it like I did, but most people might prefer Vol Scutum to block it. For Glacius (the attack where he freezes the floor), just double jump up when he puts his book on the ground, or keep kicking off his head like I did. The lightning attack is very tricky, what I did was duck in the middle of the room when he uses it, then when he flies off the screen I double jump and kick down to duck in time to dodge it again. Also make sure you absorb the Globus glyph, you won't be able to get it until way later otherwise. After all that, Dracula's Castle appears...you thought the game was over? Nope, you still got a huge castle to explore. =) Tags: Castlevania Order of Ecclesia Playthrough Walkthrough Demon Castle Dracula The Stolen Seal Shanoa Albus Barlowe 悪魔城ドラキュラ 奪われた刻印 シャノア アルバス バーロウ |
