With a classical training background of 15 yrs, it is clear that Fagan pushes the limits of his work both lyrically and musically. He has performed in main land Europe, uk , Ireland and most recently America. Simons 13 track debute album tittled 'Fake Smiles', was recorded at the Cauldron studio in Dublin and A&M studios Los Angeles. Recording started in Feb 07 and continued till April of that same year. Simon Fagan's music is a melodic masterpiece of joyously haunted lyrics and eclectic soul. A mix of rock, folk and funk Simon's energy and passion delivers performances with feverish intensity leaving a crowd wide eyed with wonder. His classically trained background and inert sense of music renders this Navan lad a talent to be reckoned with and a live show experience not to be missed. Background: Simon was awarded a 5 yr scholarship to St. Finian's in Mullingar at the age of 13yrs old and it was clear that young Simon was destined for a career in the music industry. At St. Finian's he studied trumpet, coral, theorectical and general classical studies. He then attended the Royal Irish Academy of Music for two years where he studied music to Diploma level. From here Simon furthered his studies in the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama for a further two years. Upon his return to Ireland, Simon focused on his song writing, drawing on his travels and life experience to create new material and take him on a new direction in his music career. This started him on the road to what would develop into his debut album 'Fake Smiles'. In September 2006, Simon worked with Brian Byrne, music composer from Navan now based in LA writing music for film , on Swinging with the Beatles in the National Concert Hall. This relationship saw Simon and Bryne work togehter again on the album, which was recorded in The Cauldron Studios in Dublin and A&M Studios in LA earlier this year. Upon his return to Ireland Simon was the only supporting act for Lionel Richie's sell out tour dates in The Point, on May 24th and 25th 2007 and Smokey Robinson at Vicar Street (July 2nd 2007). More recently, his song 'silent friend called Tom' was choosen for a hollywood movie called 'A line in the sand', which is due to be premiered at the 'Sundance festival' in Feb 08. http://www.myspace.com/simonfagan Tune in again tomorrow!!!
