Freedom! 90 - George Michael This 1990 music video, directed by David Fincher, is most certainly among my select all-time favorites. Featuring the nineties dominating Trinity of supermodels, that is Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington - and adding Tatjana Patitz and Cindy Crawford - this video became iconic in its own use of icons. George Michael refused to be a visual part of this video to a song which was clearly supposed to visualize his break with his Wham! (and Sony) past. Pay attention to the destruction of items representing his past, such as the leather jacket. A great song, wonderful video that matches the song and then adds some. George Michael's career has manifested in a number of great music videos. I can recommend you to get the two disc DVD "Twenty Five" featuring forty music videos, among them Careless Whisper, Roxanne and including Wham! classics such as Club Tropicana and Last Christmas. Richie Havens Freedom Woodstock 1969 The Woodstock Music and Art Fair was a historic event held at Max Yasgur's 600 acre (2.4 km²; 240 ha) dairy farm in the rural town of Bethel, New York from August 15 to August 18, 1969. Bethel (Sullivan County) is 43 miles (69 km) southwest of the town of Woodstock, New York, which is in adjoining Ulster County. To many, the festival exemplified the counterculture of the 1960s and the "hippie era." Thirty-two of the best-known musicians of the day appeared during the sometimes rainy weekend. Although attempts have been made over the years to recreate the festival, the original event has proven to be unique and legendary.
