O Louvor à Divindade: (Om - Bhur Bhuvah Swaha - Tat Savitur Varen­yam); A Meditação em reverência ao Seu Esplendor (Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi); A prece pela iluminação do intelecto (Dhiyo-yo Nah Prachodayat). Qual é a função específica dessas três partes? Em poucas palavras, o propósito da 1ª parte é estimular nos veículos do sadhaka certos poderes que preparam o terreno para o funcionamento efectivo da segunda e terceira partes. Estes poderes são activados pelo poder do som ou Vak, o qual harmoniza os veículos e os sintoniza com as forças dos planos superiores tornando, deste modo, possível que estados superiores de consciência se manifestem através deles. A segunda parte objectiva estimular na mente do sadhaka uma intensa aspiração ou determinação de entrar em contacto com a consciência de Savita, a Divindade que preside o nosso sistema solar. A sua consciência já é uma parte daquela Consciência Universal porém, devido ao seu envolvimento nas limitações e através dos mundos inferiores, ele perdeu a sua noção deste facto que é a unidade dos dois. Ele parte para recuperar esta noção directa da unidade e, com este propósito, intensifica a sua aspiração para ser livre ou mumukshutva. Pois, é tão somente na medida em que esta aspiração é intensificada que a fusão do Ji vatma com Paramatma pode progressivamente ser realizada. A terceira parte objectiva criar uma atitude de auto - entrega (atma - samarpana), a qual é essencial para a descida da graça Divina (kripa). Após uma intensa aspiração, na qual a consciência desempenha um papel activo, o sadhaka entrega-se à compaixão do Grande Senhor e torna-se passivo e aberto às forças que são estimuladas pela aspiração. É somente sob estas condições que estas forças podem fluir para dentro dos seus veículos, preparando a mente para a iluminação espiritual. Assim sendo concluímos que a temática relacionada com o GAYATRI tem um significado muito profundo, pois diz respeito à relação entre o homem, o universo e a Realidade que subjaz a ambos. A sua prece não pedenenhuma vantagem material nem a satisfação de nenhum desejo em particular, mas roga à Luz Universal que se manifeste no intelecto de cada um para que se possa vislumbrar a Verdade e viver n'Ela. Complete faith unflinching loyalty backed by a clear heart towards the deity is required for Sadhana. 2. Do not start Mantra Shakti under any pressure. Trust in God, kindness and patience should be the virtues of a Sadhaka. 3. Avoid harsh speech, lust, anger, restless thoughts, evil company and egoism. Do not get emotional. Mantras on hearsay should be avoided, as they must be authentic. 4. Sadhana done without any specific aim bears fruits early. In case you see any miracle, do not fear. Keep your WILL POWER strong and continue your Sadhana. All troubles will vanish. 5. Brahmacharya or celibacy should be observed during Sadhana. In case of failure, do not lose heart. Chanting the Gayatri Mantra for three times in a day, i.e., morning, afternoon and evening, is not enough. You should chant this Mantra incessantly. Why should you stipulate a particular time period for chanting His name who is beyond time? Sarvada Sarvakaleshu Sarvathra Harichinthanam, chant His name at all places, at all times and under all circumstances. I would advise to recite the Gayatri when you take your bath. Do not sing cheap and defiling film songs; recite the Gayatri. When you bathe, the body is being cleansed; let your mind and intellect also be cleansed. Make it a point to repeat it when you bathe as well as before every meal, when you wake from sleep, and when you go to bed. And also repeat 'shanti' thrice at the end, for that repetition will give shanti or peace to three entities in you -- body, mind and soul. On that day, the Gayathri Mantra was gifted to mankind: Rama and Lakshmana were the instruments for our receiving that teaching. By gifting this Gayathri Mantra to the entire humanity, Vishwamitra has endeared himself. Humanity is highly indebted to that sage, to Vishwamitra. Swami says that therefore his very name is justified: Vishwa means the entire universe and mitra is friend. Through this act, he earned his name as Vishwamitra. Gayatri Mantra (27 Repetitions) Revered by both Buddhists and Hindus worldwide. It is considered to be a supreme vehicle for gaining spiritual enlightenment.
