4 octave wonders Pt. 11 - Daniel Gildenlöw Time for a swede! Daniel is a very diverse baritone (a swedish Matt Barlow?) who uses his low mid and high register very shiftingly (and confusingly sometimes). 1. a low D chant which touches on short C2:s, from "imago". 2. a low D in the harmony from "nauticus". 3. a short section with some sung E2:s, from "shore serenity". 4. a good clip showing his range, daniel goes from long sung G2:s and short F2:s to a high G# (G#5) in the song "big machine" (thin head voice, not falsetto). 5. a change of scene to a mezza voce C5 (tenor high C), from "I die" from the Genius Rock Opera part 3 CD (daniel has sung on all 3 Genius CD:s). 6. a nice C#5 to E5 from "a trace of blood". 7. a D5 to G5 from Genius part 3 from a duet with DC Cooper called "final chapter" (cooper, gildenlöw and hartmann executes a fantastic E5 later in the song). 8. another G5 from Genius part 3, this time a duet with jorn lande called "let me live". correction: this is very likely oliver hartmann doing this note (as he does on "toy warehouse) as a harmony. 9. nice E5:s and then up to a short A5 from "used". 10. Daniel Gildenlow - Vocal Chronology (plz read description) First of all, I purposely did NOT show every absolute best example of each song. I still want there to be plenty to explore for the unfamiliar to Daniel's voice. For all the cool vocal parts in here, there are 3 times as many equally interesting, diverse, and impressive ones through their songs. That said... I decided to put 1 sample of every Pain of Salvation song in order from the very beginning with Entropia until the latest Scarsick.
