FACTindia inauguration of Shivaji Exhibition FACT inauguration of Shivaji Exhibition FACT inauguration of "A Hero for Modern India : Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj" Exhibition by H H Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Sri Narendra Modi, Sri Vinod Khanna, Sri Gopinath Munde and Sri Prafull Goradia. Shivaji the Idol and ICON for Modern Politician: Modi A Shivaji is the right response to terrorism: Narendra modi "The brand of secularism that Sivaji followed was the real deal. He wrote to the Mughal rulers, who levied a tax on Hindus, asking them to revoke the tax. "I do not know why the government in Delhi is so uneasy when the subject of terrorism is broached. They should also learn from Sivaji. He was the person who engaged in guerilla warfare against those who invaded the country, which is a form of terrorism so to speak. "And third, Sivaji was one of the first persons to protect the cow. Will the centre again learn a lesson from Sivaji, and if not him at least Mahatma Gandhi [Images], who also fought for the protection of the cow, and pass a law to protect the cow across the nation?" he said. Shivaji is the greatest example for Selfless work : H H Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Renunciation refills your energy. Creativity cannot happen only just through efforts. There is a beautiful story about Chhatrapati Shivaji. At one time Shivaji became so frustrated about ruling his kingdom that he went to his guru Samarth Ramdas and told him that he is fed up and that he just wants to renounce everything. Ramdas told him that he can renounce everything. Shivaji became so happy and relaxed at the very thought. Then Ramdas told him: "Now I am the king and you are my servant. Will you do whatever I ask you to do?" Shivaji replied: "For you I am ready to do anything." Ramdas said: "Very good. Will you run this country for me? Shivaji replied: "Yes, I will run the country for you!" Total renunciation has brought zeal and enthusiasm in him. www.fact-india.com www.factusa.blogspot.com Tags: Shivaji HHSRISRI Narendramodi gopinathmunde FACTindia francoisgautier mumbai prafulgoradia Art History Hero |

Shivaji Exhibition: Modi Speach, Mumbai http://www.fact-india.com http://shivajimaharaj.info Inaugurated, on 12th of March 2008, Mumbai. Prominently shown is the chief guest Sri Narendra Modi CM Gujarat. Also attending were H H Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi said that the Centre should take a leaf out of King Shivaji's life. "In a letter written to Aurangazeb protesting the imposition of 'jazia' (tax) on Hindus, Shivaji had endorsed secularism...Even three hundred years ago he knew about secularism," Modi said, inaugurating an exhibition of the 17th century Maratha king's life here. "Unfortunately, three hundred years on, our Prime Minister today says people of a particular community have first right to country's resources," the BJP leader said. He also said that "today's rulers must look up to King Shivaji, as even three hundred years ago he had paid heed to development of infrastructure... He built roads connecting his forts." The Maratha legend was not given his due by the history, Modi rued, saying Indian historians hail likes of Alexander and Napolean, but few rulers in the world could build an empire with scarce resources and hard topography that Maharashtra offered. Shivaji should be an ideal figure for all those fighting terrorism, he said. Modi also claimed that the Supreme Court had yesterday upheld a Gujarat legislation banning cow slaughter. Saying that even Mahatma Gandhi was proponent of ban on cow slaughter, he appealed to the government to bring in similar law for other states. http://www.saharasamay.com/samayhtml/... http://www.rediff.com/news/2008/mar/1... Naik Subedar Bana Singh, who won the Param Vir Chakra for his bravery in preventing a Siachen post from falling into Pakistan Army's hands in 1987, was on Wednesday awarded the inaugural Sivaji-FACT award for courage. "For all the services this great hero did for the country, the government sees it fit to give him a pension of Rs 100-odd. Hence we decided to give him a cheque of Rs 1 lakh," said Francois Gautier, the trustee of the Foundation Against Continuing Terrorism, a non-profit organisation, said while presenting the cheque to Singh. At the function in Mumbai, chants of Jai Gurudev and Gujarat ka sher ayaa overlapped as Ravi Shankar and Modi stepped on to the stage together. The two charismatic leaders, who inaugurated an exhibition on Chatrapati Sivaji, spoke about the greatness of the Marathi leader. Gautier threw the rule book out of the window and surprised the dignitaries by inviting them out of turn and asking them to speak extempore. Ravi Shankar, who was asked to speak of Sivaji and his spiritual side, said: "One day, Sivaji who was tired of all the problems he faced as a ruler, went to Samarta Ramdas and laid down his crown in front of the swami. Sivaji said he found the burden of ruling was too much for him to handle. The swami accepted it and when Sivaji was just about to leave, he called him and placed a proposition in front of him. The swami said he would take the mantle of the ruler under one condition: that Sivaji work for him. "Sivaji gladly accepted and returned to rule the country with great prudence. All he needed was the burden of responsibility taken off him." Modi, who was asked to speak on Sivaji as an inspiration for those in public life, said: "The brand of secularism that Sivaji followed was the real deal. H.H SRI PUNDRIK GOSWAMI JI MAHARAJ History - Sriman Madhva-Gaudeshwar-Vasihnava Peetham. The Supreme Lord Krishna combined with Srimati Radha Rani and incarnated as Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu to confer bhakti to all beings. Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu performed Harinam sankirtan and conducted many congregational preaching activities, as a result of which innumerable devotees came to take his shelter. He asked his devotees to dedicate their lives to propagate His teachings. Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu bestowed His yellow anga-vastram and the mat that he sat on while chanting, to Sri Gopal Bhatta Goswami and appointed him the Acarya of Sriman Madhva-Gaudeshwar-Vasihnava Peetham. Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu asked Sri Gopal Bhatta Goswami to go to Vrindavan and locate the important past-time places of Sri Sri Radha Krishna and make them know to everyone. Sri Gopal Bhatta Goswami’s contribution to Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s Sampradaya is immense. He compiled various work like Sri Krishna Tatva Mimamsa, Hari Bhakti Vilas etc., while practicing his spiritual life in Vrindavan. Being pleased with the devotion of Sri Gopal Bhatta Goswami the Supreme Lord Himself manifested from a Salagram Sila as Sri Radha Raman on the day of Vaishaka shukla purnima (full moon day of the Vaishaka month) in the Year 1599. Sri Damodar Goswami was the dearest disciple of Sri Gopal Bhatta Goswami. He was assigned the task of serving Sri Radha Raman. Sri Gopal Bhatta Goswami also anointed Sri Damodar Goswami as his successor to the Sriman Madhva-Gaudeshwar-Vasihnava Peetham. Sri Mathura Nath Goswami succeeded Sri Damodar Goswami. He was well versed in Srimad Bhagavatam and was renowned for his mellifluent discourses. He made Punjab and Sind the center of his activities and preached extensively in all directions. Many great personalities like Vyakhyana Vachaspati, Sri Shoban Lal Goswami Ji Maharaja and Sri Vijay Krishna Goswami Ji Maharaja have adorned the Sriman-Madhva-Gaudeshwar-Vaishnava Peetham during their life times. They traveled from Vrindavan to various remote areas across the country, to carry out the mission of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. H.H. Atul Krishna Goswami Ji Maharaja adorned Sriman Madhva-Gaudeshwar-Vasihnava Peetham after Sri Vijay Krishna Goswami Ji Maharaja. He inherited the glorious tradition of interpreting the scriptures from his predecessors. He is an erudite scholar, and was well Versed in various Vedic scriptures. He is the most reputed orator in India. His discourses are extremely fascinating. At present H.H. Sri Sribhuti Krishna Goswami Maharaja is adorning the Sriman Madhva-Gaudeshwar-Vasihnava Peetham. H.H. is spreading the message of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu all over the world tirelessly, through his captivating discourses on various scriptures like Srimad Bhagavad Gita, Mahabharata, Srimad Bhagavatam, Sri Ramayana, and Sri Chaitanya Charitamrita. H.H. Sri Sribhuti Krishna Goswami Maharaja lives in Sri Vaijayanti Ashram in Vrindavan, where the Sriman Madhva-Gaudeshwar-Vasihnava Peetham was originally established. H.H. has established branches of Sriman Madhva-Gaudeshwar-Vasihnava Peetham in cities like Amritsar, Jalandhar, Chandigarh and Jaipur. His articulate discourses are divine and filled with ancient esoteric philosophical truths, which are aimed at universal welfare. Thousands of people gather to listen to his captivating lectures in all parts of the country. His magnanimity, soothing advice and genuine concern for all makes him distinct amongst spiritual leaders. His disciples feel secure by his presence. In accordance with the glorious tradition of giving this knowledge to others H.H. runs a school to where subjects like Srimad Bhagavatam, Sri Ramayana are taught. H.H. also oversees the setting up of medical camps to provide medical aid for the handicapped, old and needy. H.H. Sri Pundrik Goswami, the worthy son of H.H. Sribhuti Krishna Goswami and the future successor to the Sriman Madhva-Gaudeshwar-Vasihnava Peetham is popular among the devotees. He is following the path of his predecessors, in spreading the message of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu through discourses on different vaishnava scriptures like Srimad Bhagavatam, Sri Ramayan, Sri Chaitanya Charitamrita etc., all over the world so that people may benefit by knowing the real goal of their lives.
