In Springfield , on the other hand, the problem is out of sight, out of mind. The admittedly low estimate of 600 homeless in Springfield is forgotten. Some unfortunate 250 don't even have a place to sleep each night, residing in abandoned buildings, woods, and caves, lacking the basic benefit the others lucky enough to receive hospitality staying in local shelters have. Come this winter, as shelters like the Victory Mission and the Missouri Hotel fill up, even more will be left out in the cold.
