Hangzhou, China Hangzhou is a sub-provincial city in China and the capital of Zhejiang province. Located 180 km southwest of Shanghai. As one of the most renowned and prosperous cities of China for much of the last 1,000 years, Hangzhou is also well-known for its beautiful natural scenery, with the West Lake as the most noteworthy location. West Lake (Chinese: 西湖; pinyin: Xī Hú) is a famous fresh water lake located in central Hangzhou, in Zhejiang province of eastern China. To see more videos about Hangzhou, please visit the vBlog of Hangzhou in Sina web: http://v.blog.sina.com.cn/hangzhou Tags: West Lake Hangzhou 杭州 西湖 中国 best happiness city 最佳 幸福感 城市 hang zhou Zhejiang Provice eastern China cityscape culture lan |

Property Seizure Rampant in China's Hangzhou CHAN: City council members routinely send hundreds of police to confiscate properties from homeowners in Hangzhou. Within two years, about one thousand properties were forcefully taken by the city government, which has been making commercial deals with developers without approval from local residents. Locals hope international human rights organizations can help. Here's more. STORY: Property owner Mu Baoshui says he owned about 2,900 square feet of housing and rental space. But police took it all away without any prior notice or legal documents in hand. Another Hangzhou resident, Mr. Chen, says the government confiscated his property on July 30th 2007. He also says the government didn't send any notice or message to them. When he went to hospital, the city council seized his house. Mr. Hsu says he received notice from authorities that his property would be taken. Many of residents went to appeal, attempting to bring the case to court, but were denied. Those who participated in public protests were all arrested. About two thousand people live in the Jiangan district of Hangzhou city. But because the city council made contract deals to commercialize the property, more than 800 housing properties have been forcefully confiscated and more are expected to follow. Surfing China's Qiantang River Tidal Bore, Hangzhou - September, 2008 Top professional big wave surfers head to the Qiantang River in Hangzhou, China to surf the world's largest tidal bore--known as the "Silver Dragon." Greg Long, Rusty Long, and Mark Healey wow the masses at the annual Tidal Bore Wave Watching Festival in Hangzhou and make surfing history! Gerard Sports Marketing (GSM) has teamed up with Chinese partner, Wabsono International--and the Chinese government--to bring the sport of surfing to the Chinese people. Everyday--twice a day--in the City of Hangzhou (pronounced "han-joe"), a tidal bore wave rolls upstream on the Qiantang (pronounced "kwin-tang") River. And each year, in September, the wave is at its largest. To witness this awesome sight, hundreds of thousands of Chinese people come to the annual Wave Watching Festival in Hangzhou. And this year, they're here to see surfing for the very first time. For this trip, we brought the Long brothers, and Mark Healey. The purpose of this trip was to demonstrate to the Chinese government that surfing on the river was feasible... and that the idea of broadening the annual festival to include surfing is a good one. This year's surfing event was a huge success. In fact, the day of the festival, it was a top story on the Chinese national news channel (CCTV)--and was viewed by approximately 1/2 the entire Chinese population! GSM and Wabsono have signed a long term exclusive rights deal with the City of Hangzhou to develop the surfing festival concept. The plan is to include industry brands and promote the sport to the Chinese people. Tags: China surfing waves water sports Quintang River Hangzhou Billabong Quiksilver Mark Healey Rusty Long Greg |

Hangzhou WDS 2007 Chinese racer attack a foreign reporter Hangzhou WDS 2007, the winner was a sweet Chinese racer Shengjun Zhang. Everyone thought it will be a happy ending, unfortunately something goes wrong. A player, Zhiyáo Su,nick Susu who attack a foreign reporter after presentation, yet, Susu won the fourth on this game. As for me , i hope other players or reporters would better not watch this live video. I guess, it will hurt their feelings, maybe let them worried. Before they fly to china and attend Beijing Olympic 2008,they might consider security problems, they might worry about somebody take away their cameras by force, just because these reports doing their job. As a witnesses, my opinion is the ugly photos didn't hurt Susu, the hurter was the truth behind those photos. Plz be a better man, before something big. Tell your crazy fans, be a better fan.
