Harts' War: Chapter 1 - Coronation From USWA television, June 19, 1993. Jerry the King Lawler, the biggest babyface in Memphis destroys Bret Hart after the Hitman won the 1993 King of the Ring Tournament. This began a big feud in Vince-land but also a lesser know series in the USWA. Before it was over Titan faces Bret and Owen would be headlining as heels at the Mid South Coliseum and Vince McMahon himself would make his heel debut (more than 4 years before the Mr. McMahon character was born). Bret 'The Hitman' Hart Return or not 1997 ----- In the ensuing weeks, Hart denounced American fans, because of their negative reaction to him in the recent weeks in contrast to his continued popularity through the rest of the world, and reunited with brother Owen and brothers-in-law Davey Boy Smith and Jim Neidhart. The family members formed a new Hart Foundation with Brian Pillman; this incarnation was an anti-American stable which was popular within Canada and Europe. Hart captured his fifth WWF Championship at SummerSlam 1997 after spitting in guest referee Shawn Michaels' face; Michaels swung a steel chair in retaliation, which accidentally struck the Undertaker and allowed Hart to get the pin. Around this time, Hart's on-air rivalry with "announcer" Vince McMahon also escalated. A heated ringside altercation between the two led many fans to dislike McMahon, who at the time was being exposed as owner of the WWF more and more frequently on-air. After ----- Bret Hart's refusal to lose to Michaels in Montreal has been criticized by others such as Ric Flair, who asserted that it was Hart's responsibility to drop the title belt of a company he was leaving. However, Hart maintains that he was prepared to lose the title anywhere and to anyone, except to Michaels in Canada given that, during 1997, his "Hitman" character had been built up as a great Canadian hero. As his contract with WWF did not expire for four more weeks, Hart asserts that there was plenty of time and several other opportunities for him to drop the title. Several accounts claim that McMahon had originally proposed that Hart drop the title at December's In Your House pay-per-view in Springfield, Massachusetts, and at January's Royal Rumble in San Jose, California. Although Shawn Michaels expressed happiness at Hart's 2006 induction into the Hall of Fame, the Hart-Michaels relationship remains laced with antagonism. Michaels criticized Hart's behavior and conduct during his days in WWF in his 2005 autobiography, comparing the screwjob to a "mafia hit",, and Hart has stated in his 2007 autobiography that he will "never forgive" Michaels. In interviews prior to the induction ceremony, Hart asserted that he would walk out from the ceremony if he saw Shawn Michaels anywhere on the WrestleMania 22 weekend. Michaels decided to leave the Hall of Fame ceremony early to avoid a possible scene. Hart did not appear at the WrestleMania show in a mini-ceremony with the other inductees, explaining in an interview that he had never intended to attend or appear at the show. Enjoy this song. Corey Mitchell Hart (born 31 May 1962, in Montreal, Quebec) is a Grammy Award-nominated Canadian musician. He was raised in Montreal, Spain, Mexico City, and Key Biscayne, Florida, and was raised solely by his mother from the age of 10 (when his parents divorced).[1] Hart was a prodigy as a teenager. At 13, he sang for Tom Jones and recorded with Paul Anka in Las Vegas and, at 19, recorded demos with Billy Joel and Eric Clapton before signing to a major label at the age of 20. Corey Hart's first album was recorded in Manchester, England in the spring of 1982. Released in 1983, First Offense, featured the hit songs "Sunglasses at Night" and "It Ain't Enough". The album sold well in both Canada and the United States. The follow-up album was Boy in the Box in 1985 featuring the smash "Never Surrender," which was Hart's highest-charting single. Hart became so popular, particularly amongst adolescents, that he was offered the role of Marty McFly in the film Back to the Future, which he turned down. (The role eventually went to another Canadian, Michael J. Fox.) Hart's handsome looks made an impression on young fans; so much, in fact, that he was regularly featured in magazines marketed to teens, such as Tiger Beat and Bop, from 1984 to 1986. Hart continued to record music, but his commercial success and "heart throb" status in the United States were significantly reduced after Box. Today, Hart lives in the Bahamas with his wife, French-Canadian singer Julie Masse, and their four children: daughters India, Dante & River and son Rain.
