IIFA Weekend Bangkok—Exclusive With Amitabh Bachchan Part 1

In an excerpt from the exclusive interview by Nicholas Snow during the 2008 Bangkok International Indian Film Academy Awards Weekend (IIFA), Mr. Amitabh Bachchan discussed how he approached, from an acting perspective, his character in Sarkar Raj. "I'm happy that somebody from the media is noticing it, because generally these very subtle points are overlooked," he says to Nicholas Snow in response to his question. And he reveals, "I'm not a trained actor," yet he nails one of the most emotional, complex scenes in the film. "I allow my body to just react the way it does..." He also explains that racism was not an influence in his early career, regarding his darker skin. Rather, he was too tall for the leading ladies in vogue at that time. And he sets the record straight—Indira Gandhi never wrote a letter in support of his career, as erroneously reported at the Internet Movie Database. Mr. Bachan also reflects upon the time of the wedding of his son Abhishek to Aishwarya Rai, revealing that at that very time, his mother was in the hospital in a coma and he was confronting "continuously shifting emotions." He spoke about the loss of his father as well—for whom he built an intensive care unit in the family home. A legend speaks. A Talk with Priyanka & Harman at IIFA Awards 2008 Bangkok

They were present at the press conference for their movie 'Love Story 2050' at IIFA 08. What is most striking about this couple is that they are very relaxed around each other. Although Priyanka has never openly said that she's dating Harman, Bollywood fans know that its a fact. Even in the promos of LS 2050, they look 'at ease' with each other. Something that the critics didn't see between Saif and Kareena in Tashan. It's not fair to compare jodis but I still think Harman-Priyanka look fabulous together.
