UFO Over Southern Illinois - Part 1 of 5 This is one of the few UFO movies you'll ever see that's actually worth watching. Several police officers called in a report on it and one even snapped a photo (albeit a very bad Polaroid). NO ONE IS SUGGESTING THAT THIS IS AN EXTRATERRESTRIAL SPACE CRAFT! I'm from this area and everyone here assumes it was some kind of military or experimental aircraft. Boeing flies experimental aircraft here at night all the time. The interest in this video lies in the fact that someone has invented an aircraft that can both hover and accelerate at great speeds, and it can do so in near silence. Everyone in this video (which includes the testimonies of several eye witness police officers from several counties) claimed that what they saw was as thick as a 2 story building and about as long as a football field. Whatever we've got out there now seems to be an amazing achievement in aeronautical engineering. We'll probably find out all about in a few years, but right now it's fun to speculate. Rock Island, Illinois Farmall Plant Past RFD TV Show Direct TV, Ch 379, about the Rock Island Farmall plant which is being torn down. Max Armstrong interviewed people like Spike O'Dell (radio personality) and former workers and buyers of Farmall tractors. They had a parade of the restored old tractors run through the assembly line area (50 acres where they made up to 350 tractors a day) for one last time. Great Program! Kind of sad, but brings back a lot of good memories about a time of American workers sense of pride, prosperity, and "better times for middle class". Southwest Airlines' top leadership celebrated the high-flying tribute to the State of Illinois at an event in a Chicago Midway hangar with Mayor Richard M. Daley and local Employees. "We are thrilled to honor Illinois with this beautiful aircraft; it is truly a testament to the great relationship we have developed with our Chicago Midway Customers and a tribute to our local hard-working Employees," said Southwest Airlines Chairman Herb Kelleher. "Our pride for Illinois will now fly high over the 64 cities Southwest serves." Since beginning service in Illinois at Chicago Midway in 1985, Southwest Airlines has grown from eight to 227 daily nonstop departures. As Southwest Airlines has increased its flights, it also has increased its need for space. In 2004, with the help of Mayor Daley's outstanding Leadership, Southwest Airlines participated in the Terminal Development Project at Chicago Midway. The expansion has allowed Southwest Airlines to meet and exceed a promise of growth and has created an ideal environment for offering the Legendary Southwest-brand of Customer Service for Chicago travelers. "Southwest's success at Chicago Midway would not have been possible without the sum of many parts, and this beautiful aircraft is a result of our collective hard work," said Gary Kelly, Southwest's Chief Executive Officer. Flags of Franklin Park Illinois plus US Navy Band Crazy Flags are flying all around our wonderful Village of Franklin Park Illinois as summer turns to fall. If your flag is worn and tattered, let American Legion Post 974 dispose of it properly. Drop the flags off at the American Legion Headquarters, 9757 Pacific Avenue (corner of Ruby and Pacific). There is a white mailbox for the tattered flags ouside of the building. Drop in anytime. Also included in this video is the United States Navy Band performing "Crazy" made popular by Patsy Cline. Representing the Women and Men ot the United States Navy, the Navy Band makes appearances throughout the United States of America. The US Navy band played at West Leyden High School, Northlake Illinois on March 8, 2007. Music lovers and parents of Navy personal came to the high school to see and hear the prestigious US Navy Band as we were thrilled to have them for an evening in our community.
