The Girl From Ipanema This song introduced millions of Americans to Brazilian Bossa Nova music when released in the early 60's. Composed by a true musical genius, Antonio Carlos Jobim and English lyrics by Norman Gimbel this song has become a staple of jazz musicians the world over. There are so many talented players (including youtubers) who can play it better but can they croon it like FK? The live TV Sinatra / Jobim clip is the coolest. The "too fast" commentators need to think outside the box. I could've just as easily presented a cloned tempo version but I prefer to change things because that's the beauty in the freedom of musical expression. I've actually seen several highly accomplished Bossa Nova guitarists play Ipanema at a similar tempo.
