Cobus - Boys Like Girls - The Great Escape (DRUMS COVER) Laus Deo Semper http://www.facebook.com/pages/Cobus-Potgieter/18074843749 This is a drum cover (from the Dual-Cam Series) of Boys Like Girls' damn cool song, The Great Escape. This is by no means a technically challenging song, just damn fun to play :) I mostly did this as someone suggested the song and i digged the feel of it.. so like i said, technically very very easy song. But oh so fun fun fun.. I have to emphasize, I know calling this a "cover" is wrong, seeing as I only PARTLY stayed true to the song's drums, through the WHOLE song i play some variations of the beats, phrasing and fills, I'm NOT aiming to be accurate to the original drums, I'm just aiming to enjoy myself.. :) And I thouroughly succeeded in doing that, I might add ;) Boys Like Girls - The Great Escape from their self-titled 2006 release is the copyrigthed property of its owner. [HP200B] *RECORDING* [Two Panasonic NVGS250 3CCD Cameras] I miced each individual drum, plus two overheads, ran this through a mixer, got a decent mix and recorded with ONLY *ONE* stereo channel.. no multitrack recorder(s) :) I compressed the final mix to HELL.. to get a more aggressive sound, to make it sit better in with the original song (and hopefully overpower the original drums), detailed compression settings: 20:1 with a threshold of -20db and a compensation gain of 15db, with both seperate channels (LEFT and RIGHT, from the mixer) sent to a stereo sub-group, and the compression settings applied to THIS group, it gave a nice compact and aggressive result.. further mastering was needed to equalize the final mix and control peak levels and such. En un dramático partido en Río de Janeiro, que se fue hasta la definición por penaltis, el equipo ecuatoriano ganó el título más importante de toda su historia. Los ''Albos'' superaron a Fluminense 3-1 en la definición por penales de la final, en la que el portero ecuatoriano José Francisco Cevallos atajó tres remates. Fluminense ganó el tiempo reglamentario 3-1, lo que envió el partido a un alargue y finalmente a los 12 pasos. Patricio Urrutia, Franklin Salas y Joffre Guerrón anotaron los penales por la Liga, y Cícero fue el único que pudo marcar por Fluminense. ''Pancho'' Cevallos le atajó los remates al argentino Darío Conca, Thiago Neves y Washington. Neves hizo los tres tantos de Fluminense en el tiempo regular, y Luis Bolaños remeció las redes por Liga, que en diciembre jugará el mundial de clubes. El marcador global terminó 5-5. Sin embargo, fue la Liga el primero en anotar a los seis minutos, aprovechando como siempre la velocidad y potencia de Guerrón. El extremo derecho recibió un balón largo de Damián Manso, realizó varios amagues, y llegó hasta la línea de fondo, de donde sacó un centro retrasado que Bolaños enganchó cruzado para el 1-0. El gol encendió aún más los ánimos del ''Flu'', alentado por un estadio Maracaná a reventar. Washington erró un gol cantado a los 10 minutos, cuando después de un rebote la pelota le quedó en los pies de frente a Cevallos, pero con poco ángulo la envió desviada. A ritmo frenético, la pelota transitó de lado a lado y Manso desperdició una chance de Liga un minuto después al enviar su remate por encima del travesaño. Liga todavía recuperaba el aliento cuando llegó el empate a los 12, con un zurdazo de Neves desde afuera del área que se coló pegado al palo izquierdo de Cevallos. Sin bajar la guardia, Fluminense siguió al ataque, y dos minutos después Cícero envió un balón a las manos de Cevallos. Neves marcó el segundo a los 28 aprovechando un descuido de la defensa de Liga, que se durmió en un saque lateral para Cícero. El volante recibió la pelota sin marca por la banda izquierda, llegó hasta el fondo, la retrasó y Neves le puso el pie para empujarla al fondo de las redes. La defensa de Liga siguió haciendo agua hasta el entretiempo, y a los 31 se salvó de que el árbitro argentino Héctor Baldassi cantara un penal cuando Washington cayó en el área mientras disputaba un balón. El complemento arrancó como un calco del primer tiempo, con sucesivas llegadas del ''Flu''. La primera fue de Dodó, que enganchó en el lado derecho del área y le pegó con comba y desviado. Luego, tras un excelente pase de Neves, Dodó volvió a rematar y la pelota tocó a un jugador de Liga y se estrelló en un palo. Poco después, Junior eludió a dos marcadores y llegó hasta el fondo, pero su centro se fue largo, y finalmente a los 57 cayó el tercer gol que igualó en 5-5 el marcador global: un fenomenal tiro libre de Neves que se coló pegado al palo izquierdo. Una Liga mareada intentó capear el temporal, pero Fluminense siguió en busca del arco rival. Poco a poco los locales se fueron quedando sin aire, y cedieron terreno al club ecuatoriano. Un tiro de media distancia de Urrutia que el arquero Fernando Henrique desvió al córner a los 66, y un remate de Claudio Bieler a los 69 que pegó en el palo fueron señales de vida de los visitantes antes del tiempo extra. Con los jugadores de ambos equipos ya sin piernas, el primer tiempo del alargue tuvo pocas emociones, aparte de un centro al que Bieler no le llegó por centímetros y un remate de Dodó que salió elevado. Los últimos 15 minutos parecían transcurrir sin novedades, hasta que Cevallos salvó su arco en un remate de Neves a los 117. Poco antes, una jugada en la que Bieler embocó el balón de cabeza fue invalidada por posición adelantada, aunque la repetición de televisión pareció mostrar que el argentino estaba habilitado.
