A Tour Of Poor Dayton - Kettering & Moraine I am traveling through Kettering, Ohio and its neighbor the city of Moraine. In the previous videos, I traveled through Kettering and showed you some of the things here in the community. Now I take you through its neighbor. The city of Moraine is a dying city! Just as Trotwood, Riverside and Dayton, the city of Moraine is hit with economic turmoil. Delphi Corporation, the controversial automotive parts company that filed for bankruptcy a few years back. General Motors Truck and Bus Facility is closing. It is located here and was about 35% of the active manufacturing jobs in the Dayton area. Now both companies are forced to take drastic measures by shutting down and putting many employees out of jobs. The city of Dayton is part of the RUST BELT. Many areas from Western New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virgina, Michigan, Indiana, Missouri, Wisconsin, Illinois, and to parts of Minnesota and Iowa are hit with this economic downfall. And it's impact is felt across the country. Splash Moraine is a water park located nearby (I will focus on that area in later postings). Sun Watch Indian Village is located in Dayton, Ohio and is a major tourist attraction near the city of Moraine. Also watch your speed! If you are on some of the city of Moraine roads, you could be caught in a speed trap? And believe me, you don't want a ticket. But anyways that the whole run down of the community of Moraine. Go Skateboarding Day 2007 - Kettering Skate Plaza http://www.bnqt.com Kettering, Ohio is officially a skate paradise. Rob Dyrdek and DC Shoes teamed up to build the nation's first true street skate park. Naturally, Rob had to stop in on Go Skateboarding Day and he brought his friends with him. Sean Malto, Devine Calloway(who was hurt and couldn't ride, too bad for all of us), Steve Berra, and Diesel himself made it pop. The local rippers got down to business and before the day was through Rob managed to make it rain something proper, throwing 5000 dollars he won from Berra on a bet into the crowd, causing utter madness to ensue. And as always, Banquet was there to record all the goods so here it is, all neat and tidy and topped with a bow. A 5000 dollar bow. The Greene is a upscale outdoor mall located in the city of Beavercreek and parts of Kettering. There are many golf courses, the Moraine Farms, Patterson Homestead, Calvary Cemetery, Carillon Historic Park, Indian Riffle Park, Kettering Recreation Center and State Farm Park in the city of Kettering Ohio. UK Pinball Festival 2008 Kettering A short tour around the 2008 UK Pinball Festival which was held at Wicksteed Park, Kettering on the 29th-31st August. HAd a great time playing all the machines on freeplay all day, it was a crazy noise with all those tables going at once.
