Macro Cube controlling Google Earth This was done as part of a project for the ICE1250 Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) course in the Information and Communications University (ICU) of Korea in summer 2008. reacTIVision vision engine was used to track the fiducial markers pasted on the small cube (die), a C++ client converts the movement data received from the reacTIVision server into keystrokes, and a AutoHotKey macro converts the keystrokes into the proper keyboard commands for Google Earth. This system can be be used by just moving the cube on the table, rather than on the computer screen, with the camera placed overhead and looking down, but I felt that using the Cube like a physical icon (phicon), and manipulating the view by moving or rotating the cube is simply more fun.
