Bob Lanier - The Dobber Robert "Bob" Jerry Lanier, Jr. (born September 10, 1948, in Buffalo, New York), is a retired American professional basketball player for the Detroit Pistons and Milwaukee Bucks of the NBA. He played competitively at Buffalo's Bennett High School where he graduated in 1966, and collegiately at St. Bonaventure University, in Olean, New York. Lanier was drafted number one overall by the National Basketball Association's Detroit Pistons and was named to the All-Rookie Team following the 1970-71 season. He starred for Detroit until being traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in 1980. In his five seasons with the Bucks, they won the division championship each year. The same year he retired, in 1984, he was awarded the Oscar Robertson Leadership Award. In his 14 NBA seasons, Lanier averaged 20.1 points and 10.1 rebounds per game while shooting a respectable 51.4 percent from the field. He played in eight NBA All-Star Games, and was named Most Valuable Player of the 1974 game. Lanier was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame and had his #16 jersey retired by both the Pistons and the Bucks. In 1994-95, he became interim head coach of the Golden State Warriors for 37 games after Don Nelson stood down, in which he compiled a 12-25 win-loss record. Tags: basketball |

Lanier Yak 54 94" with DL-100 maiden flight Lanier Yak 54 ( 94" ) with a DL-100, JFX 27 X 10 prop, weight is 26 1/2 lbs. The DL-100 rips the prop at wide open leverl flight. This was my first flight and I shot 3 landing approaches and it didn't seem like it wanted to slow down. I greased one in ( not the best , but not bad ) and the stock wheels blew off the rim which caused a bent landing gear along, exploded wheel pants, and a broken prop tip. Striped Bass triple on Lake Lanier !!! Another exciting clip jigging for Striped Bass. My son Jonathan is reeling in a Striped Bass and then my buddy Rick gets hooked up. Both are using light spinning tackle. I grab the only rod left, a heavy trolling setup, and I too get hooked up. Rick didn't get to hold Jonathan's up but it was 18 lbs. Ricks was 12 lbs and mine was 17 lbs. What a rush! Catching Striped Bass directly under the boat on artificials is a lot of fun!! All fish were released and swam away. Lanier Speedway Drift Demo 10/11/08 pt 1 My First Run: Getting the feel for it. I spun a couple of times, and had some issues getting the feel for it, but once I got it down, I felt the adrenaline pushing that car FORWARD! I got invited out to run a drift demo at Lanier Speedway. Very fun to put on this exhibition. Had a lot of new fans of the car, people bringing their kids by to sit in the car, cameras flashing every time it rounded a corner . . .AWESOME! Very awesome! I had a blast and I can't wait to do it again next season. Big thanks to Tracy Shayhorn for hooking the event up right and getting us out there. Thanks to Dave Jones for teaching me how to properly tandem. And a huge thanks to Lanier Speedway for letting us beat on our cars out there. The car casualty in this video is my boy in his white Cobra. Yeah, we think it might be done and time to move on to another chassis, but WOW! Striped Bass hooked and landed on Lake Lanier! Exciting clip of a Lake Lanier Striped Bass caught while jigging a spoon over water 150 feet deep. I'm using a light action spinning rod with 20 lb test mono and talking to my friend on my cell phone. I had seen a few fish on the screen when I decided to turn on the digital camera to see how well it recorded video when I got a nice "fish on". It's not huge but to get all the action recorded by myself is pretty lucky!
