McClain Wing Cores Starfire windy day flying This is a video my wife assisted me with today of Jeff McClain's newest design, the Starfire. we are in process of starting the beta with a few changes to make the plane fly even better. For those that inquire as to how a wing handles in the wind . . this should set your mind at ease! I thought the winds were at 18-22 kts gusting to about 25-- but I was wrong! According to the RDU weather, the winds at the time of the flight were 25 kts steady with peak gusts to 40. This was the most phenominal flight I have taken , I got so tired of waiting to do the maiden with all the new mods that - - With the holidays running close and the family visits cutting into things - there was no way I was going to sit tight and not fly today. The wind almost knocked my wife over when the gusts started ramping up about 2 minutes into the flight! This was some work keeping it in the air. but the plane handled it beautifully in spite of the abominable conditions!
