MGR - M.G.Ramachandran The 16th death anniversary of the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Mr.M.G.Ramachandran, was commemorated in Vavuniya Wednesday at the Veerasingham Hall at the Multi-Purpose Cooperative Union (MPCU) building. The LTTE's political head in Vavuniya, Mr. S. Ezhilan, and the Vanni district Tamil National Alliance (TNA) parliamentarian, Mr. N. Sivasakthi Anandan and several other prominent personalities in Vavuniya participated, sources said. "Though MGR was a movie star, he did several good deeds for the people of Tamil Nadu when he was the Chief Minister. When our movement needed money, he gave us money out of his private funds. He fully recognized the need for our armed struggle. He never sought political gain through his support to our cause," said Mr. Ezhilan. "The struggle for Tamil people's political rights is a just struggle," he said. "We are prepared to face anything that may impede our struggle." Mr. S. Gnanapragasam, the head of the organizing committee for the commemoration, presided over the event. "Sivaneri Puravalar" S. A. Ramaswamy, the head of the Vavuniya Hindu Association and a businessman, lit the traditional lamp. Businessman Mr. S. Kulendran unveiled a picture of MGR. Mr. K.A. Senthilnathan, the Vavuniya district head of the All Ceylon Tamil Congress (ACTC), Mr. Sivasakthi Anandan, MP, and many others present paid homage to the late leader by scattering flowers in front of his picture. In memory of MGR, Mr. Ramaswamy handed over a thousand exercise books to Mr. Ezhilan for distributing to poor students in the district. Continuing his speech, Mr. Ezhilan said, "It is common for liberation organizations to get financial support from a country or other external organizations. But our situation is different. We carry on our struggle with only the support of our people. "When our movement needed emergency funds in Mr.Ramachandran's time, he understood it and provided the funds. Even when he was seriously ill, he would inquire about the struggle of the Tamils of Eelam. For the Tamils of Eelam, his death was an irreparable loss. At that time, the current CM of Tamil Nadu, Ms. Jayalalitha Jayaram, who was with MGR, also supported his policies. But her policies toward us have changed now. "India has an important responsibility toward the Tamils of Eelam. India should come forward to fulfill these responsibilities." Mr. Anandan, the TNA MP, said in his speech, "India rendered immense help to Tamils of Eelam after the July 1983 pogroms in Sri Lanka until the Operation Liberation of the Sri Lanka Army in Vadamaradchi in 1987. Similarly, the late MGR helped the struggle immensely whenever the struggle needed his assistance. "Tamil people are aware that a Federal solution cannot be found without India's help. They look to India as an important and friendly power. Korg MS-10 with modded MG range Demo of the Korg MS-10 with a modified MG range, I installled a switch just above the wheel that switches between standard and fast MG rate. The new setting allows the MG (LFO) to go from slightly faster than normal to into audio rate, this allows for a huge amount of new sounds to be created with the synth. The clip starts with the MG rate set to control the filter at low, then about a quarter then half, etc round to full with the range switch set on normal, then this is repeated but with the switch set to the new extended range. The same again but with the MG set to control the oscillator. Further twiddling ensues, then a sequence with various settings to demonstrate some of the FM effects possible. Here's how it's done: Basically it involves removing C34 (1uf), running 2 wires (long enough to allow the switch to be mounted where you want it) from the holes left by it, then get a small toggle switch (on-on type, 3 contacts) solder a leg from C34 to one side of the switch, a leg from a 2.2uf to the other side, the remaining leg of each cap is then soldered together and to one of the wires, the other wire goes to the common (centre) of the switch, there is plenty of room for the switch to be placed above the wheel if you use a small enough toggle. You can try different values of capacitor for slower or faster times but I found a 2.2uf gave a decent range, another good idea would be to use a 3 way switch with a low/normal/high setting. E que o Galo temia aconteceu novamente, uma armação do Flamengo, agora de uma maneira mais descarada. O Grupo 3 da Taça Libertadores 81 foi marcado pelo equilíbrio entre Atlético e Flamengo. As duas equipes terminaram empatadas em primeiro lugar cada uma com 8 pontos ganhos em 6 partidas. Como o regulamento da competição previa que somente o campeão de cada chave passaria a segunda fase, foi necessário a realização de um jogo de desempate em um campo neutro. Depois de muitas negociações, a cidade de Goiânia foi escolhida para sediar o jogo. Tudo era neutro, campo, torcida, cidade mas o juiz não. José Roberto Wright chegou em Goiânia no mesmo avião vindo do Rio de Janeiro, junto com a delegação carioca. Fato estranho, mas que pode ser considerado normal uma vez que ele, Jose Roberto Wrigth residia no Rio. Mas quando ele ficou no mesmo hotel que os flamenguistas os dirigentes do Galo já ficaram desconfiados. Desconfiança que se confirmou logo aos 10 minutos do primeiros tempo. Em uma jogada no meio campo, Reinaldo faz falta normal em Zico e imediatamente Wright mostrou o cartão vermelho para o Rei. O quê que isso? O quê eu fiz? Perguntava o Rei sem demonstrar nenhuma atitude de desrespeito. Na tv, Telê Santana um severo crítico do ante-futebol dizia: "Uma falta que a gente está acostumado a ver no futebol brasileiro -- proclamava Telê, severo nas suas análises sobre a violência no futebol." Logo depois foi a vez de Éder, em outra falta normal o ponteiro esquerda mineiro ganhou o cartão vermelho do juiz. Daí pra frente o serviço já estava feito, o Galo com 9 jogadores em campo seria facilmente vencido pelo Flamengo. O técnico do GALO, Carlos Alberto Silva colocou o time com uma armação claramente defensiva e mesmo com a ajuda do juiz(que em 30 minutos de jogo distribuiu 4 cartões amarelos para os jogadores do GALO, isso fora os 2 cartões vermelhos) o Flamengo não conseguiu marcar seu golzinho. Vendo que a armação ainda não fazia efeito, Wright deu o golpe derradeiro; expulsou Palhinha e Chicão aos 34 minutos do primeiro tempo. Aí não deu para segurar a revolta atleticana. Os dirigentes do GALO entraram em campo. Polícia, Fotógrafos, cinegrafistas todo mundo em campo, uma confusão generalizada. O jogo é paralisado. Nessa hora o "Juiz" expulsa todo o banco de reservas da equipe mineira, jogadores, técnico, comissão técnica e diretoria. Os dirigentes de Minas queriam retirar os seus jogadores de campo. Mas essa atitude não foi tomada, e o jogo recomeçou antes dos 30 minutos legais de paralisação.
