Mick, Beth and Josef Moonlight: Don't Tell Me The re-edited version of this is up...you might want to view that one instead. The quality is better. Again I apologize for the crappy quality on this one - I was having a rendering issue. I'm on an Air Supply kick so indulge me. This video is dedicated to SusieQ (you know who you are!) The song lyrics are ALL from Mick's point of view. It's another made up tale and in this one is Mick losing the woman he loves to his best friend Josef? The ultimate betrayal! Throughout the video Mick confronts both Beth and Josef. They try to convince him they are not having an affair. Josef doesn't want to lose his best friend and Beth wants to be able to be just friends with Mick but he tells them both he has no more to give them - no room to share. Mick tries to believe them when they say they are not seeing each other because he "don't really want to know" but after a while it becomes very hard for them to hide the truth from him - he sees the looks exchanged between them and he does have heightened vampire senses after all! When the reality hits him that they really are having an affair Mick enters the darker side of love and has a breakdown during which he hallucinates that he bites Beth. He goes back very angry, wanting Beth even more and in a rage he gets physical with Josef and says: "Don't tell me lies!" After realizing Mick needs to know the truth Josef admits that he and Beth are in love (watch for Josef's subtle nod right before Mick goes up the stairs). Basically, Mick and Beth want to be together, but because he is a vampire and she is a human they can't be. In the first verse, Beth takes the drug, because she sees she's losing Mick. So she tries to get him to turn her into a vampire, but he doesn't. In the second verse Mick sees he's losing Beth, so he wants to become human, but finds that he can't. There is no cure. Through out the rest of the video, both Mick and Beth want to find a way to be together, but they can't change each other or change themselves. That said, will Mick ever become human? Will Beth ever become a vampire? Or will they ultimately have to let each other go? Will they get their happily ever after? And will they ever learn to accept who they are and just be happy? The ending is ambiguous. Again, I know the video's a little different, but oh well! :) Enjoy!
