Jeenih Larath Najaf - Mulla Bassim Karbalaei Mulla Bassim Al-Karbalei recites the famous kasaed/poem Jeenih Lar Najaf for Imam Ali (a.s.) in Holy Najaf, Iraq, in front of a crowd of thousands. It was recited in the Imam Ali Mosque, the large, holy structure were the Imam is buried. This was shortly after Saddam Hussain's capture, and was the historic return of Mulla Basem Al-Karbalaei to Iraq after 20 years. Imam Ali (as) is the cousin of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (saw), and was greatly loved by the Holy Prophet Mohammed (saw). Imam Ali's struggles, oppressions and martyrdom is mourned and is an inspiration to millions around the world today, by people of different religions, denominations and schools of thought. على الرغم من أن الامام الحسين توفي منذ ما يقارب 1300 عام , إلا أن شهادته وكفاحه ومحنته هي مصدر الهام الملايين في جميع انحاء العالم اليوم. الملايين تبكي وتحزن عليه كما لو أنه توفي بالامس. قصيدة الرثاء هذه هي استذكار لآل محمد وكفاحهم واضطهادهم. ضرب الصدر ليس فقط تعبيرا ثقافيا عن الحزن ولكنه في الأساس يعبر عن مشاركة آل محمد في مأساتهم ويخلق جوا من الحزن. كما يظهر أن حبهم هام ونقي ويثيب الله تعالى عليه --- Imam Ali (as) had amazing patience, piety and generosity. He was a lion on the battlefield and was the most generous off it. He always looked to serve his Lord, giving everything in his power for that Lord. Every one of his strikes on the battlefield was in the way of God, if he ever became angry, he would stop fighting for awhile and than resume fighting. When asked about this, his reply was he didn't want to kill out of his own anger, only out of God's anger. When the Islamic state came under his ruling, he ensured equal rights for Muslims, Christians and Jews living in the state. He had full knowledge of both the Bible and the Torat. In his time he was oppressed by his own people, his right to lead the Islamic state was taken from him, and his wife, Fatima Zahra (sa) [the daughter of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (saw)] was oppressed and killed. Imam Ali (as) met his Lord on Lailat al-Qadr (The Night of Power) in Ramathaan at the age of 63. He was struck on the head by an assassin whilst Imam Ali (as) was in prostration, leading the morning prayers. The strike intensified an old wound and the sword was poisoned. After he was hit, Imam Ali (as) said that his killer should be given water before himself, an example of his almost limitless generousity. After three days the Imam (as) died a martyr. His killer said regarding this, that the strike that he hit Imam Ali with would have killed any man, but because it was Imam Ali in prostration to his Lord he didn't die. Imam Ali (as) is buried in Najaf, Iraq, in a shrine that is a place of pilgrimige to hundreds of millions across the world, including both Sunnis and Shias. Imam Ali's (as) character has caused him to be loved and respected by hundreds of millions across the globe, from different religions, demoninations and schools of thought. -- Surely we are God's, and to him we shall surely return لاَّ يُحِبُّ اللّهُ الْجَهْرَ بِالسُّوَءِ مِنَ الْقَوْلِ إِلاَّ مَن ظُلِمَ وَكَانَ اللّهُ سَمِيعًا عَلِيمًا Allah loveth not that evil should be noised abroad in public speech, except where injustice hath been done; for Allah is He who heareth and knoweth all things. (Surat 4, Ayaat 148) وَمَا بِكُم مِّن نِّعْمَةٍ فَمِنَ اللّهِ ثُمَّ إِذَا مَسَّكُمُ الضُّرُّ فَإِلَيْهِ تَجْأَرُونَ And ye have no good thing but is from Allah: and moreover, when ye are touched by distress, unto Him ye cry with groans; (Surat 16, Ayaat 53) قُل لَّا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا إِلَّا الْمَوَدَّةَ فِي الْقُرْبَى Say: I do not ask of you any reward for it but love for my near relatives; (Surat 42, Ayaat 23) ذَلِكَ وَمَن يُعَظِّمْ شَعَائِرَ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّهَا مِن تَقْوَى الْقُلُوبِ That (shall be so); and whoever respects the signs of Allah, this surely is (the outcome) of the piety of hearts. USMC - Najaf Battle, Iraq 2004 - AC/DC 'Thunderstruck' - HD/HQ clear This' the same ACDC-Najaf I had on just re-uploaded it in HQ. *** The Battle of Najaf was fought between U.S. and Iraqi forces on one side and the Islamist Mahdi Army of Muqtada al-Sadr on the other in the Iraqi city of Najaf in August 2004. Major conflict began on August 5, when the Mahdi Army attacked an Iraqi Police Station at 1 AM. Their first attack was repelled but the MA regrouped and attacked again at 3 AM. Soon after, a quick reaction force (QRF) from the MEU was dispatched at the request of the governor of An Najaf. Around 11 AM the QRF came under heavy machine gun and mortar fire from the Mahdi Army within the Wadi as-Salaam, the largest cemetery in the Muslim world. A U.S. Marine UH-1N helicopter was shot down by small-arms fire on the second day of the fighting while conducting a close air support mission over enemy positions. Four U.S. military personnel were killed during the heavy street battles fought between the Mahdi Army and U.S. and Iraqi forces, until the MEU withdrew temporarily on August 7. Then the U.S. added three battalions to the battle: * 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division * 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division * 1st Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. During the fighting half a dozen U.S. Abrams tanks and Bradley fighting vehicles were damaged or disabled by insurgent RPG fire in the narrow streets. One UH-1N helicopter was also shot down without loss of its crew. Fighting began in the city centre and then moved through the cemetery. After several days the fighting shifted to the environs of the Imam Ali Mosque when the Mahdi Army withdrew and took refuge there. U.S. Marines from the MEU encircled the complex and began a siege.
