My ode to Watchman Nee - A History Maker I was contemplating even posting this because I didn't want people to get the wrong impression and think that I was trying to detract any of the focus from the Lord. This is clearly not my intention in the slightest. When I was in middle school my dad told me about a writer named Watchman Nee, at the time I thought it was unheard of to hear of any Asians preaching the gospel. Yes I was very naive and still had a lot of learning to do in life, I still do! lots more to learn. Anyways this is just another slide show I put together of random screen caps from the dvd "The Cross, Jesus in China," with the music "History Makers" from the band Delirious?. I figured what not a more fitting song to choose from in regards to Nee, truly a history maker from all his lectures, writings and his life experience. I was going to attempt a biography here but I found various other sources that can do a lot better job than myself. Authors like CS Lewis, Oswald Chambers, Billy Graham, Ravi Zacharias have stood next to a truth that has never been swayed by the popular beliefs of man(made) philosophy. And many experienced persecution that could force any Christian to really question whether or not what they believe is in their hearts or in their minds. Being a westerner I am gracefully at the liberty to believe in what I want without much (physical) persecution, but many men and women around the world are will to be imprisoned and beaten for their beliefs. My flesh makes me sick at the most pitiful of things that causes me to blunder into submission. I will earnestly seek the gospel until my death. Another quick thing. Listen later in the song when they talk about what it means to be a history maker. You don't have to go through some atrocious life struggle to be a history maker, nor do you need to be of celebrity status. I agree a history maker to me is a loving parent, somebody who puts their friends before themselves, who lives a selfless life in spite of their circumstances... basically being transformed into the likeness of Jesus Christ.
