El Rock Psicodélico Música Psicodélica La música psicodélica, música ácida o lisérgica (en referencia al ácido lisérgico) es un género musical que pretende evocar, ya sea lírica o sonoramente, la experiencia psicodélica. Las drogas psicodélicas han sido usadas por varias culturas premodernas y muy a menudo su uso era y es acompañado por música tal como ocurre hasta hoy en algunas culturas del chamanismo americano. De todas formas, el termino "psicodelica" es ligado a la música por vez primera en el rock surgido a mitad de los años sesenta en Inglaterra e influenciado por el movimiento hippie dentro de una perspectiva estética que también era compartida por el arte psicodélico en sus formas visuales pero esencialmente ubicable dentro del movimiento de la psicodelia ligada a la expresión artística de la experiencia psicodélica. Esta perspectiva estético-musical del rock psicodélico influenció otros géneros como el soul o el funk en el llamado soul psicodélico y el p-funk de George Clinton, el rock progresivo o el jazz fusión y a músicos más allá de EEUU y Gran Bretaña alrededor del mundo. Después, en los años 80 algunas variantes de la música electrónica y del trance retomarían la estética psicodélica en la música en géneros como el psytrance, en los noventa el psybient y el los 2000 el psybreaks. En alguna forma también la psicodelia influenció al dub, el cual usualmente es ligado con el consumo de marihuana. En la década de los ochenta y noventa aparece el dub electrónico el cual también sería importante precedente en la evolución del psybient. El rock psicodélico se caracteriza por su carácter algo místico, la improvisación en las composiciones y su relación con las drogas alucinógenas como la psilocibina, cannabis, y, sobre todo, el LSD. No existe una definición rigurosa de este género, y con frecuencia se interpreta como tal todos los tipos de sonido comprendidos entre el raga rock (es decir Rock con influencia de la música sinfónica de la India), acid rock, hasta el hard rock. Muchas de las bandas pioneras fueron influenciadas por una gran variedad de géneros, incluyendo el folk, el blues el free jazz y musica autoctona de diversas partes del mundo. La corriente principal de este género vino a la luz entre 1966 y 1967 y podía ser reconocido por características como melodías modales, letras esotéricas describiendo sueños, visiones o alucinaciones, canciones largas y prolongados solos instrumentales, y efectos electrónicos como delays, reverberaciones, ecos, flanger, feedbacks y otros efectos sonoros. Entre los exponentes pioneros principales del género estarian The Beatles, The Grateful Dead,13th Floor Elevators, Pink Floyd, Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix, y otros. Despues de los años sesenta apareceran nuevas bandas y movimientos neopsicodélicos como las bandas de los ochenta Spacemen 3, The Psychedelic Furs, y en los noventa y 2000 Phish, Apples in Stereo, The Flaming Lips, Polyphonic Sprees y últimamente, MGMT . Asimismo destaca el género británico del Shoegazing de fines de los ochenta y comienzo de los noventa con bandas como My Bloody Valentine, los muy raga Kula Shaker o The Verve en sus 2 primeros álbums. Asi mismo podemos considerar el genero Stoner Rock asociado con el consumo de marihuana y con bandas como Kyuss, Monster Magnet y Queens of the Stone Age. Por último consideremos las bandas en los 2000 asociadas con el término Psychedelphia de Philadelphia, EEUU como Bardo Pond o los britanicos The Bees y los suecos Dungen.
