Ditto for Republic's subsequent adaptation of Roark's second novel "Fair Wind to Java" (1953) starring Fred MacMurrary and Vera Ralston. Note Batjac's coincidental syllabic similarity to another film-related company's name, equally famous: DANJAQ. Founded by Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman in 1962, Danjac is still the holding company associated with the cinematic career of Ian Fleming's James Bond. I cannot recommend "George Garland's" Western fiction as passionately as his nautical fiction. Although competent and bearing the stylistic touches so much more evident in his sea stories, none of his works in the Western genre are remarkable—in spite of a Western Writers of America Spur Award in 1967 for Best Novel for "Hellfire Jackson," co-written with Charles Thomas. Pokemon D/P Walkthrough Part 7: Gym Leader Roark Welcome to Part 7 of my Pokemon Diamond/Pearl Walkthrough. In this episode I battle the Oreburgh City Gym Leader, Roark. Roark is the master of Rock type Pokemon, so be sure to have grass, water, and fighting types ready. (Steel and Ground types also work nicely, but you probably don't have access to that yet) Roark can be tough if you don't play right. Most of his pokemon are high in defense, so special attacks like Bubble should work well. His Cranidos is the main threat, try to take it out quickly before it starts causing trouble. Here is a list of the pokemon Roark uses, and the moves each of his pokemon have: Geodude Level 12 -Rock Throw -Stealth Rock Onix Level 12 -Stealth Rock -Rock Throw -Screech Cranidos Leve 14 -Headbutt -Leer -Pursuit Recommended Pokemon: Piplup - Bubble Turtwig - Razor Leaf Monferno - Mach Punch Budew - Mega Drain Machop - Karate Chop/Low Kick After defeating Roark, you will get the Coal Badge which lets you use the HM for Rock Smash outside of battle. I discovered this uber awesome D/P missingno. glitch. Yea I discovered it :) Anyways to get it there are two ways, I'll tell you one and you can figure out the other. 1. You need a way of skipping the battle sequence and getting to the lab without in anyway battling anything. 2. At the lab the proffesor will give you a missingno., the pokemon will actually be called -----. I reccomend naming it Missingno. but you can just keep it blank. 3. Go to Roarks gym without battling (yea you even have to skip the Rival battle) 4.Get past your rival when he's bloking the door (use walk thru walls) 5.Go straight to Roark, do NOT battle the trainers or your game will freeze, and there you go NOTE: Your missingno. will die if you dont use a health cheat! Pokemon Pearl Walkthrough Episode 12:Gym Leader Roark Last episode, Dawn beats the hell out of Oreburgh Gym's underlings. In this episode, Dawn faces........ well, she crushes Roark, the Gym Leader of Oreburgh City. Turtwig Ownage!!! Lol. Toaster and Rider didn't play a part at all.. Oh well.... Now, for a bit of walkthrough. You don't have to worry about this gym. Not at ALL. All the starters are effective against him. Turtwig-learns Absorb at level 9 -learns Razor leaf at level 13 Chimchar-Evolve it into Monferno at level 14.It will then learn Mach Punch, which is super effective against Roark's Pokemon. Piplup- learns Bubble at level 8. It's not much, but it works just fine... There, need I say more??
