Max Schindler - Archive Interview Part 1 of 6 In his 6-part oral history interview, news director Max Schindler talks about his early years as a cameraman/production manager in local TV in the 1950s. He describes his entrance into network TV in the 1960s on "David Brinkley's Journal", as an associate director. He speaks of his transition to director and about several of the important news events of the day, including the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Civil Rights Movement, and the Vietnam War. He describes directing news coverage following the Kennedy assassination and capturing the images of the JFK's coffin being placed onto Air Force One. Schindler describes covering other '60s events including Martin Luther King's "I Have A Dream" speech and the 1968 Democratic National Convention protests. He describes in great detail, his two-decade long association with "Meet The Press", which he began in 1965. Schindler describes his work from the 1970s to today covering such events as Watergate, the Iran hostage crisis, and Papal visits to the U.S. Finally, Schindler describes his work as a Washington director for the "Today" show, which he did from 1975 to the time of the interview date (2003). Never Let You Fall -- Oskar Schindler A memorial I made for Oskar Schindler after recently seeing "Schindler's List." It's also kind of a memorial for the Holocaust victims. I found the song a couple of days ago and realized that there could not be a more perfect song for this movie or for this heroic man. By the way, if this video becomes a political battlefield for all your stupid 9/11 conspiracy theories or your sick neo-Nazi comments, I WILL disable comments. Please, just leave a review of the video if you like it, and don't be cruel or disrespectful. In my opinion, if you flame these types of videos, you disrespect the victims. That alone, should be enough to silence anyone. One more thing, I know Anne Frank was not one of the Schindler Jews, but she was still a Jew sent to a Nazi concentration camp who suffered as much as any of them, and deserves recognition in this video. A mon papi qui resta, cinq ans durant, prisonnier en Alllemagne. A toi, le grand absent de ma vie depuis six ans... encore si présent pourtant. Aux "naufragés" de cette guerre, toutes ces étoiles éteintes trop prématurément, trop injustement, trop inhumainement. Aux "rescapés", ceux qui ont témoigné, raconté l'Innommable, le sang du ciel, la douleur muette, le gouffre humain, l'"humanimalité"... quand bien souvent leur parole était étouffée. Aux Justes, ceux qui dans l'ombre, ont risqué leur vie pour sauver celle d'autrui...
