Draggin' A Line--The Spamtones (1994 Durant, IA) From the Vaults presents... "Draggin' A Line," a chestnut from Tommy James and The Shondells as interpreted by Eastern Iowa's legendary Spamtones, circa 1994-ish. Jim, Kirk, Mitch,and Dana comprised (and often compromised) The Spamtones. The Spamtones are known to have rollicked far more than other rollicking combos of their era--which was short-lived. The recording is Dana, Mitch, and Kirk - Jim was only part of the award-winning live performance at Fireman Days in Durant--believed to be 1994 or earlier. The Artist Formerly Known As Mitch still has the trophy, reportedly - unless Kirk has it. Jim had it for a while when he lived in Indianola. The recording is believed to have been made in Durant, Iowa. This is the seventh in the From The Vaults series from Ruckus Recordings. That's just what I call the stuff I've recorded and there's more to come. D.Andrews always recorded in a very DIY manner, using mostly consumer audio equipment, boogered together in all sorts of ways.
