Sukhoi Su-47 (Su-37) Berkut Supersonic Jet Fighter The Sukhoi Su-47 Berkut (Russian: Су-47 "Беркут" - golden eagle), also designated S-32 and S-37 during initial development, is an experimental supersonic jet fighter developed by Sukhoi Aviation Corporation. The NATO reporting name for this aircraft is "Firkin". A distinguishing feature of the aircraft is its forward-swept wing, similar to that of the Grumman X-29. Although the Berkut has been referred to as the Su-47 since 2002, suggesting that it is a ready-for-production warplane, it will more likely be heavily redesigned (as part of the Prospective Air Complex for Tactical Air Forces program) before any series production begins. The Su-47 designation may or may not be reused for the PAK FA design. Tags: Sukhoi Su47 Su37 Supersonic Russian Jet Fighter |

RC SU-47 Test Flight CRASH More at our website! http://www.RCPowers.com So this is more test flying of forward sweeping wings, full moving rudder, and "thrust vectoring". Its not really thrust vectoring but it has prop-wash blowing over the control surfaces and some guys call that "thrust vectoring" and I don't know what else to call it. Anyway, its just a simple plane with some different ideas we are trying out. For every successful plane we come out with, it takes about 10 designs that don't work so well. Its nice to do these weekly videos so everyone can see that we are dopes that crash just as much as everyone else. SU-47 vs MIG 1.44. Who is the BEST? Su-47 (S-37) Berkut Experimental Fighter Aircraft, Russia The Sukhoi Design Bureau of Moscow, Russia has developed the Su-47 (previously called the S-37 Berkut or Golden Eagle) fighter aircraft, which first flew in September 1997. Su-47 is in a forward swept wing configuration and uses a highly unstable triplane (with three main lifting surfaces) aerodynamic configuration. The Su-47 completed the first stage of flight trials in December 2001. In May 2002, Sukhoi was selected as prime contractor for the next-generation Russian PAK FA fighter programme. The PAK FA will be a development of the Su-47 but without the forward swept wings. MANOEUVRABILITY The Su-47 has extremely high agility at subsonic speeds enabling the aircraft to alter its angle of attack and its flight path very quickly, and it also retains manoeuvrability in supersonic flight. Maximum turn rates and the upper and lower limits on air speed for weapon launch are important criteria in terms of combat superiority. The Su-47 aircraft has very high levels of manoeuvrability with maintained stability and controllability at all angles of attack. Maximum turn rates are important in close combat and also at medium and long range, when the mission may involve engaging consecutive targets in different sectors of the airspace. A high turn rate of the Su-47 allows the pilot to turn the fighter aircraft quickly towards the next target to initiate the weapon launch. The swept-forward wing, compared to a swept-back wing of the same area, provides a number of advantages: higher lift to drag ratio; higher capacity in dogfight manoeuvres; higher range at subsonic speed; improved stall resistance and anti-spin characteristics; improved stability at high angles of attack; a lower minimum flight speed; and a shorter take-off and landing distance. FUSELAGE The Su-47 fuselage is oval in cross section and the airframe is constructed mainly of aluminium and titanium alloys and 13 per cent by weight of composite materials. The nose radome is slightly flattened at the fore section and has a horizontal edge to optimise the aircraft's anti-spin characteristics. The Mikoyan Project 1.44/1.42 is a Russian Air Force prototype fifth-generation air-superiority fighter aircraft. Apart from a number of names along the lines of "Object/Project 1.44/1.42", the aircraft is also known as the MiG-MFI. It was unofficially known for a time as "MiG-35", although MiG is now using this designation for the export version of the MiG-29OVT. The MFI has also been referred to by some sources as MiG-39. Despite the prototype status of the 1.44/1.42, NATO has assigned the reporting name "Flatpack" to this aircraft. The relationship between the 1.44 and 1.42 designations is unclear outside the military world, and these are generally used interchangeably. For simplicity, the 1.44 designation is used throughout this article. Development The MiG 1.44/1.42 has been shrouded in mystery throughout the course of its existence. The Russian government cancelled the MFI program in 1997 due to the unacceptably high per-unit cost of the aircraft (Ф2.05 billion RUR, US$70 million). Development continued, with the first test flight taking place on February 29, 2000 and two confirmed test flights in 2001. In Russia's abandonment of the MFI program, the PAK FA (Перспективный Авиационный Комплекс Фронтовой Авиации - Perspektivnyi Aviatsionnyi Kompleks Frontovoi Aviatsyi - Prospective Air Complex for Tactical Air Forces) program was initiated for the development of an aircraft designed to fill a role similar to that of the F-22, and come at a size and cost similar to that of the F-35 Lightning II. In 2001, India agreed with Russia to make the PAK FA program a development/production joint-venture between the two nations. Both Mikoyan-Gurevich and Sukhoi submitted concepts to the Defense Ministry for the PAK FA program (MiG entering an updated Project 1.44), but the Russian Defense Ministry selected the Sukhoi Design Bureau as the primary contractor for the PAK FA fighter. Design work has commenced on a backward-swept winged derivative of Sukhoi's experimental Su-47 Berkut aircraft. PAK FA proves to be a very ambitious program, with production of the PAK FA fighter planned to commence in 2010. MiG-MAPO and Yakovlev have also been mentioned as secondary contractors. The MiG 1.44 is currently serving as a technology demonstrator for the PAK FA program. The in-development PAK FA aircraft will use the same in-development Lyulka AL-41F engine planned for the 1.44. Russian Sukhoi Su-47 Fighter Jet The Sukhoi Su-47 Berkut (Russian: Су-47 Беркут - Golden Eagle), also designated S-32 and S-37 during initial development, is an experimental supersonic jet fighter developed by Sukhoi Aviation Corporation. A distinguishing feature of the aircraft is its forward-swept wing, similar to that of the Tsybin's LL-3. Its NATO reporting name is "Firkin". The sole aircraft produced is an advanced technology demonstrator prototype and manufacture of a planned second flying prototype was cancelled. Originally known as the S-37, Sukhoi redesignated its advanced test aircraft as the Su-47 in 2002. Officially nicknamed Berkut (Golden Eagle), the Su-47 was originally built as Russia's principal testbed for composite materials and sophisticated fly-by-wire control systems. The aircraft makes use of forward-swept wings allowing superb maneuverability and operation at angles of attack up to 45° or more. TsAGI has long been aware of the advantages of forward-swept wings, with research including the development of the Tsibin LL and study of the captured Junkers Ju 287 in the 1940s. Forward-swept wings yield a higher maximum lift coefficient, reduced bending moments, and delayed stall when compared to more traditional wing shapes. At high angles of attack, the wing tips remain unstalled allowing the aircraft to retain aileron control. Unfortunately, forward sweep also induces twisting (divergence) strong enough to rip the wings off an aircraft built of conventional materials. Only recently have composite materials made the design of aircraft with forward-swept wings feasible. Like its US counterpart, the Grumman X-29, the Su-47 is primarily a technology demonstrator, one intended to lay the foundation for the next Russian fighter. Such a fighter must not only be as advanced as the US F-22 Raptor, but must also compete for funding with the more conventional MiG 1.44. However, Sukhoi is now attempting to market the Su-47 to the Russian military and foreign customers as a production fighter in its own right.[citation needed] The forward swept wing created a major stall hazard. Also the cockpit view was inadequate compared to the F/A-22 Raptor. This attempt to create a fighter better then the F/A-22 encountered a significant setback when the SU-47 crashed shortly after takeoff on its fifth flight, due to many problems. These problems were: a stall due to inadequate wing surface, a slight twist in the left wing, and a right engine malfunction. The Su-47 is of similar dimensions to previous large Sukhoi fighters, such as the Su-35. To reduce development costs, the Su-47 borrowed the forward fuselage, vertical tails, and landing gear of the Su-27 family. Nonetheless, the aircraft includes reduced radar signature features (including radar absorbent materials), an internal weapons bay, and space set aside for an advanced radar. Though similar in overall concept to the American X-29 research aircraft of the 1980s, the Su-47 is about twice the size and far closer to an actual combat aircraft than the US design. To solve the problem of wing-twisting, the Su-47 makes use of composite materials carefully tailored to resist twisting while still allowing the wing to bend for improved aerodynamic behavior. Due to its comparatively large wingspan, the Su-47 is to be equipped with folding wings, in order to fit inside Russian hangars. Like its immediate predecessor, the Su-37, the Su-47 is of tandem-triplane layout, with canards ahead of wings and tailplanes. Interestingly, the Su-47 has two tailbooms of unequal length outboard of the exhaust nozzles. The shorter boom, on the left-hand side, houses rear-facing radar, while the longer boom houses a brake parachute. Maneuverability The Su-47 has extremely high agility at subsonic speeds, enabling the aircraft to alter its angle of attack and its flight path very quickly while retaining maneuverability in supersonic flight. The Su-47 has a maximum speed of Mach 2.34 at high altitudes and a greater than 9g capability.[2] Maximum turn rates, and the upper and lower limits on airspeed for weapon launch, are important criteria in terms of combat superiority. The Su-47 aircraft has very high levels of maneuverability with maintained stability and controllability at extreme angles of attack. DEITE TIS EIDHSEIS LIAKO TV KAI liakopoulos Liakopoulos - Enimerosi - paparologia mandoles Demosthenis Liakopoulos (Greek:Δημοσθένης Λιακόπουλος) is a controversial TV personality in Greece who can best be described as a national mysticist. Dimosthenis Liakopoulos has studied Physics in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and claims to have made extended studies — albeit, apparently, on a personal and not academic level — in Astrophysics, World and Greek history, the paternal texts of the Orthodox faith and the evolution of military technology throughout the centuries. He has worked for 20 years as a High School physics teacher. He claims to have worked for NATO for several years [citation needed] ; subsequently he quit and dedicated himself to TV-shows and book publishing. His first television show was "Dimosthenous Dialogoi" ("Demosthenes' Dialogues") which included interviews of scientists, historians and politicians. His latest TV-show is called "Dynata kai Ellinika" ("Loud and Greek") in which he promotes his personal beliefs about history, technology, and politics while advertising the books he publishes. These books are written either by himself or by some of his associates. His claims His fame is due to an eccentric mixture of what he claims to be apocryphal knowledge, history, and religious texts, which he regularly evangelizes in the books he authors as well as his TV infomercial, broadcast on various hours of the day by a multitude of small Greek TV stations. In his infomercials Liakopoulos promotes, at times aggressively, at times using rather naive arguments and at times with a substantial dose of humour, the sales of a series of books containing supposedly astounding revelations, which he claims to have been presented to him through father Iosif Vatopedinos and father Paisios of Mount Athos, as well as Saint John Trahonitis from Lemesos of Cyprus; he frequently invokes their authority to substantiate his claims, insisting that "the wise sage has said so!", Greek: "το είπε και ο σοφός ο γέροντας!", which has evolved into something of a catch phrase. The books cover a multitude of conspiracy theories most of which have to do with the Apocalypse, "New World Order", "Global Zionism", "Extraterrestrials", "The Theory of the Hollow Earth" and other obscure topics. He combines elements from a multitude of conspiracy theories, blending them with pseudoreligious and pseudohistorical facts in order to present an explanation of world developments that is characteristic to conspiracy-themed publications. One example is his claim that according to religious texts of the Christian Church, Alexander the Great was instructed by the Christian God to seal the exits of the interior of the earth by building Pyramids. In this way the so called "putrid nations"—apparently something like the Morlocks in H. G. Wells' "The Time Machine"—have been trapped inside the hollow interior of the earth waiting for a chance to come out. Liakopoulos has stated that he doesn't always agree with all the theories mentioned in his infomercials, although it's not always clear which of them he promotes and which he only mentions; this makes it much easier to distance himself from theories that appear in his shows and books, when they are proven to be obvious frauds. The most popular book he promotes is probably the two-volume series "O Kairos gar Eggys" ("Ο Καιρός Γαρ Εγγύς"—The Time is Nigh) which contains what Liakopoulos calls prophecies pertaining to the future of Greece and the world until the year 2024. In this book it is stated that Russian technology will be superior to the arms of NATO and will bring back Russia (referred in the prophetica texts as 'the blond race') as a superpower during the upcoming World War III. Thence, the Byzantine Empire will become the most powerful nation in the world bringing a Golden Age with peace and justice to the entire planet. Metallica - Orion (Stereo!) (w/ Sukhoi Su-47: Russian: Су-47 Беркут Golden Eagle) To enable STEREO click here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuAVg6N44k0&fmt=18 When it was released, Master of Puppets provided many metal fans with an alternate image to the commercially popular glam metal bands such as Poison, and Quiet Riot. The album sold over half a million copies at its time of release without any major video/radio airplay, making it the band's first record to be certified Gold by the RIAA. The album is often credited for innovating thrash metal, specially for the fact it included some rhythms which were written in a more progressive-like mode, and it also added acoustic features along with an ambient similar to power metal in at least some parts of the songs, all of these not credited to the thrash scene, thus being innovative. The album was influential to the later started post-thrash scene, mainly stylistically. The album has also frequently being tagged by critics as "one of the most influential heavy metal albums of all time". The band's line-up during the album's recording was James Hetfield (vocals, guitar), Lars Ulrich (drums), Kirk Hammett (lead guitar), and the late Cliff Burton (bass). The album is remembered in part due to the death of Burton shortly after the release of the album in a bus accident while supporting the album on tour. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of its release, Metallica played the album in its entirety on their Escape from the Studio '06 tour, for the first time ever at the Rock am Ring festival on June 3rd, 2006. These concerts included the first-ever complete performances of the instrumental "Orion" (though the song's lengthy middle section had been performed at various times as part of instrumental medleys and bass solos since the early 1980s). The title track was ranked Number 51 in the "The Greatest Guitar Solos" from Guitar World. In 2006, the album was voted the fourth "greatest guitar album of all time" in Guitar World. And the April 5 edition of Kerrang! was dedicated to it, providing readers with the cover album "Master of Puppets: Remastered". In March 2007, the guitar magazine Total Guitar ranked the 100 greatest riffs of all time. The main riff in "Master of Puppets" was ranked as number one. Track listing: 1. "Battery" -- 5:13 (James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich) 2. "Master of Puppets" -- 8:36 (Hetfield, Ulrich, Cliff Burton, Kirk Hammett) 3.
