KILAYA TANTRA GURKHUKMA part 2 Continuation from part 1 : Dungse Thinley Norbu Rinpoche wrote: „The wrathful Sambhogakaya deities are natural skill of the peaceful deities (Tib. Zhi-bahi.rtsal) or natural self-luminosity of the peaceful deities (Tib. zhi-bahi rang-gdangs)."(5) As it is written in the Prayer for good Fortune at the end of Vajrakilaya Gurkhukma sadhana : „With inconceivable miraculous abilities that tame in whatever mode is deemed necessary, may there be good fortune of the Buddha Vajrakumara!" This research should improve the level of Buddhist academic studies working with living traditions of Buddhism. General observation is that there is a gap between academic research done at universities and living traditions of Buddhism. In many states of this world there is very low education of general public about Buddhism. One of the aims of OBF INTERNATIONAL is to provide contemporary Buddhist studies and e-learning for everyone interested in Buddhism as well as for practicing Buddhists through Rime/unbiased approach. PRACTICAL INSTRUCTIONS for those interested in Buddhist practice of meditation : 1.Practice five ethical rules (Skt. pancasila): become a vegetarian, without drinking alcohol, smoking cigaretes or using drugs. Purify/detoxify your body, energy & mind with the help of Buddhist Wholesome Medicine-formulas available by sending request to OBFI Headquarter buddha-dharma@a1.net . 2.Go for Refuge to Three Jewels: Buddha-Dharma-Sangha. Buddha Shakyamuni is the teacher of gods & men.Practice 10 perfections (Skt. paramitas) combined with sila-samadhi-prajna. Practice 10 enlightened activities as taught by the Buddhas. 3.Become a Bodhisattva and practitioner of Vajrayana-Diamond Path of Enlightenment. Only at that time one is able to practice sadhanas like Vajrakilaya tantra Gurkhukma. NOTES & SELECTED BIBLIOGRAPHY : 1.Dudjom Rinpoche II.Nyingma Chöjung/Nyingma School Wisdom Publ. DANCES OF 8 MANIFESTATIONS OF PADMASAMBHAVA This is 4th Visual Dharma (2004) from the International Institute for Contemporary Buddhist Studies. It was created at the time of translating Dharma text "Gypsy Gossip" by Khyabje Thinley Norbu Rinpoche and publishing the text at Vajra-Garuda e-Publications on CD-ROM (ISBN 961-91189-1-X). This Visual Dharma is inspired by excellent Teaching which Rinpoche offers in his explanation of the mantra of Guru Padmasambhava (outer, inner and secret meaning) as well as ennumeration of Eight manifestations of Guru Rinpoche. Life and liberation (Tib. Padma Ka`i Tang) of Buddha Padmasambhava was written down by Lady Master Yeshe Tshogyal (8th Century A.D.) . It was later discovered as hidden treasure (Tib. terma) by Tertön Orgyen Lingpa (14th Century). In 1912 it was translated into French (published in 1933). In 1978 it was published in English language. This chronology shows that Buddhism and its sacred texts are present in Europe from the beginning of 20th Century and that Buddhism is one of the religions traditinaly present in Europe ! This fact must be observed by institutions of Europe, USA and others (Councel of Europe-Strasbourg, European Commission-Brussels, United nations- New York etc.) which organise international conferences and dialogues about religions in Europe and America. See our 5th Project: Human rights and gender equality -- collaboration by the White paper on Intercultural dialogue at the Council of Europe. 2008 is the year of Intercultural dialogue. According to Terma tradition Guru Rinpoche was born from the immaculate Lotus on the Danakosha lake in the country of Oddiyana. He was supreme emanation (Skt. Nirmanakaya, Tib. Tulku) of Sambhogakaya Buddha Amitabha, the Buddha of Limitless light and life. In 8th Century Guru Rinpoche was invited to Tibet by the king Trisong Detsen. Guru Rinpoche has countless manifestations. His main Eight manifestations with correspending gestures (Skt. mudra) are presented in this Visual Dharma. Guru Rinpoche did not have mortal, material karmic body. After spending 55 years in Tibet, he departed on the sun rays. His Eight manifestations have peaceful and wrathful aspects -- according to the needs of sentient beings to be tamed. Based on his Eight manifestations there are numerous initiations with sadhanas, visualisations and mantras. Traditional religious dances, practiced by Buddhist monks at different Buddhist religious festivals, present sacred dances with masks, costumes, movements and gestures (i.e. at Thimpu Tshechu in Bhutan, Mani Rimdu festival at the Everest region in Nepal etc.). This Visual Dharma is direct teaching with the aim of connecting pure perception of every viewer with natural and continuous stainless energy of Padmasambhava´s Lineage. At each 10th lunar day of every lunar month Vajrayana Buddhists throughout the world meditate and celebrate one of the manifestations of Buddha Padmasambhava and his heroic Dharma activity to liberate sentient beings from suffering. Birth of Guru Rinpoche is celebrated on 10th day of 6th lunar month. Our Guide in this degenerate age, Buddha Shaqkyamuni, prophecied, that He will reappear in this world as Buddha Padmasambhava. His promisse was fulfilled. OPEN BUDDHIST FORUM INTERNATIONAL- Serving, upholding and protecting the Teachings of Buddhas and the unity of all Buddhists. Int. Bhutan: Election Results Are In ANCHOR: The people of Bhutan delivered an unexpected verdict in their first ever parliamentary polls Monday. They have embraced democracy, but surprised many with who they voted into office. Here's more. STORY: Bhutanese seem to have found their voice after a century of royal rule. Landslide winner was Jigmi Thinley, a man very closely associated with the country's revered and loved king, who promoted himself as a champion of ordinary people. The present king's uncle, Sangay Ngedup, was trounced in the polls, winning just three of 47 seats. But regardless of the results a solid foundation of democracy was built. [Dasho Kunzang Wangdi, Chief Election Commissioner]: "It is a day that we are proud to tell the world that the Bhutanese people answered the call of their majesty to lay a sound foundation for democratic constitutional monarchy. We want to tell you that people are together to make this process a great success." Yet this was not a vote against the kings of Bhutan or a century of royal rule. Most people were upset when King Jigme Singye Wangchuck said he was imposing democracy instead of handing power down to his son. Bhutan's people voted for stability, and chose a party with plenty of experience of serving under the fourth king, and promises to preserve the achievements of his rule. As it is written: „With bad advisors forever left behind, from paths of evil he departs for eternity, soon to see the Buddha of Infinite Light and perfect Samantabhadra`s supreme vows." Buddha Amitabha (Jpn. Amida-ji, tib. Öpame) represents Lotus family in the mandala of five Dhyani Buddhas, coresponding with W part of the mandala. His Pure land is Sukhavati (tib. Dewa chen), Pure land of Infinite Bliss. Buddha Amitabha is venerated by all schools of Mahayana schools (Tien-Tai, Zen, Pure land) and Vajrayana schools. Human beings can be reborn in Sukhavati by sincerely (single minded) recitation of His name, particulary at the time of death. In China, Japan and other counrties there are many Amitabha Buddha temples with standing Amitabha, offering helping hand to all devoties. There are mudras (hand gestures) of rebirth in Sukhavati. In Vajrayana Buddhism there is beautiful prayer for rebirth in Dewa chen. Practice of Phowa-transference of consciousness at the time of death has precise instructions about Amitabha Buddha being present on the crown of one´s head. In 21 Verses of praise to Tara there is this verse about Amitabha : „From her (Arya Tara´s) hair-knot Buddha Amitabha constantly pour down streams of light." Thinley Norbu Rinpoche wrote in his Offering praise: „All fortunate beings are guided on the miraculous path to the lotus field of Buddha Amitabha by the blessings of your divine, magical activity." Nirmanakaya Buddha Padmasambhava is the emanation of Amitabha. Pure land Buddhists are remarkable for their sincerity, purity & devotion to Amitabha. Daily chanting of NAMO AMITABHA (pronounced Namo Amitofo in Chinese) brings peace of mind, simplicity, concentration & separation from samsara. This inspired chanting was provided by the Buddha Edu. foundation in Taiwan (CD for free distribution). It helped us to prepare this Visual Dharma to benefit all. Pure land Buddhists practice such chanting during 7-day meditation retreat. Chanting is not interrupted by any other speech. It is very effective practice to pacify wandering thoughts . This obstacle is experienced by most modern people. NAMO AMITABHA chanting helps dying and dead beings. Instead of being sorrowful & confused at the time of death of your relatives & friends, try to chant NAMO AMITABHA for them while listening and viewing this Visual Dharma. The aim is to help dying or dead being to be reborn in Amitabha`s Pure land from where he/she will never be reborn in samsara again! PRACTICAL INSTRUCTIONS : 1.Become a vegetarian for the rest of your life. Don´t use any intoxicants. Purify your body, speech, mind & resulting bad habits. Prayer and recitation of NAMO AMITABHA during your life will help you greately at the time of your death. Amitabha Buddha promissed to accept to His Pure land every being who sincerely recites His name. After being reborn in Sukhavati one will continue practice toward complete Enlightenment. In Sukhavati there are perfect Teacher, perfect time and perfect circumstances. Samantabhadra (Jpn. Fugen, Vn. TWENTY - ONE VERSES OF PRAISE TO TARA This is 35th Visual Dharma, prepared at Vajra-Garuda e-Publications of the Buddha Dharma in 2005. In Nov. 2007 it is published on OpenBuddhistForum channel to benefit all beings. Reciting this mangificent Prayer and performing 21 prostrations brings great merit/pozitive energy, development of six perfections and qualities like fearlessness, courage etc.. Arya Tara has countless forms and emanations. In this Prayer we invoke actions of 21. principal forms of Arya Tara. Arya Tara, the mother of all Tathagatas is inspiration for many ancient and contemporary Buddhist Masters. In his Dharma work White Sail, Dungse Thinley Norbu Rinpoche writes in the Offering praise : "All beings, desperate orphans lost in samsara´s wilderness from lack of faith, are nurtured and enlivened by the vast panacea of the milk of your unconditioned love. You prayed and prayed to emanate in coutless feminine manifestations to create Triple Gem´s appearances for all beings, leading them to purelands beautified with unfading trees of turquoise leaves..." In August 1994 Her Eminence Jetsün Chimed Luding Rinpoche from Canada offered Initiations of 21 Arya Taras to many Atiyoga/Dzogchen parctitioners at Merigar Dzogchen Community in Italy. Her Initiations were according to the tradition of Master Atisha. Twenty-one Verses in Praise of Tara is recited also by many Tibetans. In this Visual Dharma we recite it in English which brings the same merit as reciting it in Tibetan (Om je-tsün-ma pag-ma drol-ma la chag tsal lo...). Arya Tara is guiding us on the supreme Path of Liberation, because her essence is Liberation. This Introduction is part of contemporary Buddhist Studies, performed at the International Institute for Contemporary Buddhist Studies of Buddha Dharma. Contemplating about the meaning of Dharma is tenth Dharmic Activity as taught by Buddha Padmasambhava. We invite all Buddhist scholars and translators to join the Institute , thus benefiting many beings.
