Oh so criminal Basically this is an audio/video exploration of the current state of, and impending changes to, copyright law in Australia. Specifically referencing the absence of an appropriate fair use clause in Australia's legislation and the total lack of protection for new, emerging and unforeseen forms of media in the Free Trade Agreement that has just come into force with America. It does this explicitly by abusing copyright of easily referenced popular culture audio and video icons. I've taked liberties with clearly watermarked and otherwise identifiable content from Australia and the US. Content such as commercial TV national news, pop music videos, TV interviews, movies, animations, commercials and even some acting I did for a cheesy TV show. -- entry for Thought Thieves Tags: THOUGHT THIEVE$ oh so criminal |

Cape Wind Greenpeace Wind Power PSA Greenpeace has a 30-year history of protecting the world's oceans from dumping, over fishing and other exploitation. As such, we do not take this decision to support the Cape Wind farm lightly. It is also our belief, backed by studies of this and other offshore wind projects in Europe, that any environmental impacts caused by installing these turbines offshore are minor, especially when compared to the truly profound impacts of global warming on the oceans, estuaries and coastal lands. From the ice pack of the polar regions to the coral reefs of the tropics, global warming is already directly harming ocean ecosystems. Tags: Greenpeace Cape Wind |

U.S.M.C staff sergent describes U.S war crimes in Iraq Confessions of war crimes by a U.S.M.C staff sergent. Edited for length from the original to fit YouTube requirements. Full video and description at http://radio.indymedia.org/news/2005/12/7821.php Truly, I don't know what to think. Yes, he is a war criminal, but he was brainwashed into being one by a system of government, a media bombardment, and a military program that all told him that what he was doing was right. He figured it out though. Eventually he got out. After it was too late. Does that make the crimes forgiveable? Under what kind of context? Do we believe in redemption? Interview with 3 people that broke into Drax Power Station Interview with three people that broke into Drax Power Station and shut down equipment in a bid to protest lack of real action on Climate Change. Under the shadow of Drax power station, the Camp for Climate Action burst into life. Running from August 26 to September 4, 2006, this totally unprecedented project involved hundreds of people from across the UK coming together. The camp was a great success, with a packed programme of workshops, and the camp itself was organised in an environmentally-friendly way, and powered by sustainable energy sources - wind turbines, solar panels, and small-scale biodiesel. Participants used as little power as possible, and produced as little landfill waste as possible, as the majority of waste was either composted or recycled. Direct actions included a ten hour blockade of Hartlepool nuclear power station, and a mass convergence on Drax coal-fired power station. These rushes were collected on the day of action and the following day. They were screened as they are at the Camp. They were played along with music. If you do screen this footage, I would reccomend that you do the same. Bring the volume of the music up and down to create your own feel. Otherwise it might be a bit dry. Read about the Climate Camp (or add your own report), on indymedia. http://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/actions/2006/climatecamp/ -- SOURCE: http://clearerchannel.org/media/page.php?id=1157&prefix=video Tags: environment activism |
