TANGIER Cinematheque de Tanger http://www.tingis.be Extrait de l'emission d'ARTE consacrée à la cinemathèque Rif de Tanger La Cinémathèque de Tanger Le cinéma Rif est un vieux cinéma tangérois des années 50 qui a fermé il y a quelques années. Yto BARRADA, une artiste photographe tangeroise, a décidé de le racheter et d'en faire la Cinémathèque de Tanger. Elle s'est battue pendant deux ans pour trouver les financements nécessaires à sa construction, à un moment où les cinémas de Tanger, en pleine difficulté, fermaient les uns après les autres. Yto Barrada n'avait qu'une idée en tête : amener le meilleur du cinéma aux Marocains. Un pari fou et à contre courant, matérialisé par une programmation éclectique, des documentaires, des films pour enfants, des films commerciaux et un large public : la salle obscure, désormais, n'est pas réservée aux hommes. L'architecte Jean-Marc Lalo a dirigé les travaux en conservant l'atmosphère des origines. Mohammed Saouef est projectionniste et Zeïneb Safsa guichetière au Rif depuis 27 ans. Ils évoquent tous les trois les changements de mœurs et de goûts des spectateurs de cinéma. A travers tous ces témoignages, Rim Mathlouti dessine pour Metropolis le portrait de ce lieu.
