Alvin's California Adventure My week in California compressed into an awesome 6 minute clip! I had over 2 hours of footage, and it took me forever to make. Here's what basically happened in California... I was with my grandparents, and brothers Alfred and Jesse. DAY 1: Disneyland! Checked out a few of the classic rides and shows. The fireworks were incredible! DAY 2: San Diego Zoo! Saw all the animals (Poor little fellahs locked up all their life. At least they're happy. Just dont' tell them what they're missing out on in the wild!) After the zoo, we caught the AMTRAK train and took a 2-hour ride back to our hotel. The scenery was awesome! I wish my camera hadn't died, I'd definitely have added more to this clip! DAY 3: Disney's California Adventure! This was an awesome day, full of exciting rides such as the Hollywood Tower of Terror, and the Super Screamer roller coaster! Dude, I'll admit this was my first time on a roller coaster and I kept wanting to go to that one again. At night we watched the Electric Parade, an awesome display of lights and disney characters! DAY 4: Knott's Berry Farm. This was the first Theme Park in America, used to attract folks to buy berries and other goods from the Knott family's farm. I didn't buy no jelly, but the rides were the greatest by far! The wooden tracked Ghost Rider, 3.5 G-force Silver bullet, The Supreme Scream where they lift you 30 stories up, and drop you! The sweetest was the Xcelerator, which accelerates from 0 to 80 mph in 2.3 seconds, and launches you up for the sheerest, steepest drop I've EVER seen! The rides were the highlights of the day, but there were also some neat shows like a cowboy stunt show and mexican dancing. DAY 5: No footage of the fifth day. It was a day to relax. We watch Pirates of the Carribean 2 and went shopping at the Block at Orange Shopping Center. DAY 6: Disneyland (again) where we went to the old and classic rides like Pirates of the Carribean (YOHO Homes!) and the scariest ride ever... I mean, I went Knott's Berry Farm and rode the Xcelerator... but NOTHING compares to this. My bros and I wanted to throw up afterwards... "It's A Small World After All!" Ahhhahaha! Yeah that song was stuck in my head so long, and I dreamed of little puppet children dancing everywhere! DAY 7 (Final Day): Universal Studios! THIS is what I was waiting for. We went to Hollywood and saw all these famous movie sets, including the airplane crash scene from "War of the Worlds" (Incredible film by the way) On our tour, all sorts of things tried to kill us. Like a giant monkey, a shark, dinosaurs, and flocks of voracious scarrab beetles! Got to watch Fear Factor Live and learned about special effects in movies. It was so much fun, but sadly, we didn't even have time to see HALF the park! That's okay... more inspiration to go again some time! Hope y'all have fun watching, cuz the video took me HOURS to make, even if it's so short. Like most of my clips, it's fun, fast paced and with many shots. ⌂Alvin and the Chipmunks Movie Pictures⌂ Possibly the most popular TV and musical cartoon of all time, The Chipmunks enjoyed two periods of prosperity -- the '60s era of adolescent Baby Boomers and the '80s, when the Boomers' children were growing up. The man who brought the Chipmunks to life, Ross Bagdasarian, was born on January 27, 1919, in Fresno, CA. He came to Los Angeles in 1950, and appeared in the films Viva Zapata, Stalag 17, and Rear Window. Bagdasarian also worked as a songwriter, reaching the charts first in 1956, as his production of Alfi and Harry's "The Trouble With Harry" hit number 44. He later charted two solo singles (recorded as David Seville), "Armen's Theme" and "Gotta Get to Your House." In 1958, Bagdasarian began experimenting with a novel technique -- recording normal vocals but then speeding up the playback on a tape machine. The process yielded the number one hit "Witch Doctor" in early 1958, and the phenomenon mushroomed later that year when his Christmas gimmick single The Chipmunk Song spent four weeks at the top of the charts. "Alvin's Harmonica" reached number three just two months later, and Christmas reissues of "The Chipmunk Song" charted in the Top 40 over the next four years. The Alvin Show premiered on prime-time television in 1961, with all voices supplied by Bagdasarian. It only ran for one year, but was a success in a Saturday-morning slot. Five more Chipmunks singles charted in the early '60s, and five LPs also did well, including a Beatles cover album in 1964. Although Bagdasarian died in 1972, his son Ross Jr. revived Alvin, Simon, and Theodore in 1979 on Saturday mornings and on the 1980 album Chipmunk Punk. The series became more popular than in the '60s, and albums of the Chipmunks singing country, Christmas, rock, and Hollywood favorites were big sellers, though they didn't enjoy chart success.
