Uomini, donne e bambini, che per mesi hanno atteso una risposta concreta da parte del Comune di Torino. L'ufficio stranieri ha dimostrato di non essere in grado di trovare una soluzione per queste persone, costrette a dormire per strada con lavvicinarsi dell'inverno, e così, per rispondere alle inefficienze e alle mancanze del comune gli occupanti della ex-clinica hanno deciso di alzare la testa per rivendicare il diritto alla casa. Sappiamo bene che il problema casa non riguarda unicamente immigrati e rifugiati, ma è un problema di tutti e tutte nella nostra società. E la lotta per la casa attraverso loccupazione di edifici vuoti e abbandonati allincuria e alla speculazione è un gesto che tutti possono fare, e siamo pronti a dare la nostra piena solidarietà a tutti gli italiani che, stufi di stare per anni in lista di attesa per una casa popolare, stufi di pagare un affitto esagerato, stanno vivendo in case occupate o decideranno di farlo. Già un anno fa un gruppo di rifugiati/e provenienti dal Corno d'Africa nelle stesse condizioni e con gli stessi bisogni, occupò uno stabile in via Bologna dove tutt'ora vivono ottanta persone e che il comune sembra aver dimenticato. Questa nuova occupazione è la continuazione di quel percorso, consci che solo l'unione ci darà la forza di resistere e abbattere quelle politiche economiche e sociali che anche qui, nel ricco occidente, generano sacche di povertà non tollerabili. Oggi, sabato 25 ottobre, la Lega Nord ha organizzato un presidio per chiedere lo sgombero delloccupazione, inventando fandonie sul fatto che lo stabile sia pieno di clandestini, o che loccupazione della clinica San Paolo voglia far nascere un nuovo centro sociale: niente di tutto questo! Oggi la clinica San Paolo è diventata una casa per chi non aveva nemmeno un tetto sotto cui stare. La Lega vuole dividere e strumentalizzare, vuole cercare consensi soffiando sul fuoco della paura e della crisi economica: vogliono far finta di essere il partito che sta dalla parte della gente, ma sono alla fine dei conti uno dei tanti partiti che urla e sbraita e poi corre a dividersi soldi e poltrone fregandosene dei bisogni reali delle persone. La lotta per la casa è una lotta di tutti e tutte e si può vincere solo se ogni occupazione viene difesa da tutti. Rinnoviamo a tutta la cittadinanza l'invito a portare solidarietà politica e materiale alloccupazione e soprattutto ad opporsi con ogni mezzo a chi, come oggi, cerca di strumentalizzare le lotte in nome di un carrierismo politico basato su valori razzisti e xenofobi.
