Azura Plays - Dr. Mario Online RX This is one of the secret segments I was talking about for Season 2. I was waiting and waiting for this one to come out, but it was taking so long I began to lose hope... but then I woke up to discover it's golden beauty just waiting to be downloaded... "_____ Plays" is a segment where one of the members of Team Azura make a 10 minute video of a new game that they JUST purchased. It's designed to be sort of like a "First Impressions" video demo of the game. Unlike people who review the games (Which I guarantee you would have close to 0% trouble in locating) this gives you all the rough idea on what we thought of it the first time we played it. So why did I wait for Dr. Mario Online RX? And why do I keep calling it by it's full name? Because... I... LOVE... DR. FREAKIN MARIO!!!!! So to sum it up in a few words, This video is the first 10 minutes of me playing the new Dr. Mario game, available on the Wii Shop Channel for 1,000 points. My opinion? BUY IT! Azura Plays - Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit TRIAL I was debating whether or not I should even bother submitting this video, but in the end I decided that I may as well since it's already been made. I probably won't be making too many more videos for the rest of the week, so I'll give you one more before I'm off to busy-town for a while... Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit is a new fighting game that releases on June 10, 2008. It plays similarly to the old Dragon Ball Z: Budokai games (before Tenkaichi) but has evolved the combat system greatly. It's hard to tell what to honestly expect of the game just by playing a trial version (you only get to play two fights in the trial) but based on what I've seen, I have very high expectations of this game. From a graphical standpoint, it's amazing. You can trigger special cutscenes that play in the middle of matches depending on how you fight, which adds a neat little sense of nostalgia to those who watched the show. For example, if you attack Raditz with the Kamehameha, a cutscene will trigger where his scouter detects an increase in Goku's power level, similar to what he did in the show. Once the game comes out (I'll probably have it by the end of today) I'll probably be playing it non-stop for a while, so be prepared for a sudden decrease in video creation for a while. Azura Versus the World: Mega Man 2 - No Powerups on Quickman The next Azura Versus the World challenge I recieved was for me to complete Quickman's stage in Mega Man 2 without any powerups of any kind. This would mean having to traverse the horrific and dangerous laser beam drops of doom. How did I fare? See for yourselves! Note: The technical name for the challenge was "Don't die from touching the lasers without using Time-Stopper" but since that's a long and drawn-out name, I just changed it to "No Powerups on Quickman's Stage". Azura Vs. the World: Subspace Emissary 2P Intense (Part 1) NOTE: On July 11th I recieved a message from YouTube that I was displaying content that was copyrighted by a company called "IDG COMMUNICATIONS S.A." in this video. I'm not entirely sure who these guys are or what they mean, but we recorded the gameplay personally as well as the audio commentary. I'm completely in the dark, so if anyone could help me understand a little better, that'd be awesome. ANOTHER NOTE: Looks like the problem was solved. Something about a misidentification of something or other. Oh well, nothing to worry about. Let's hope it doesn't happen again anytime soon... Azura Vs. the World is one of the other new sessions on Channel Azura that I wanted to start during Season 2. These will have no direct scheduling and will be done as I feel like them, so expect to randomly see these guys floating around over time. Subspace Emissary is the story mode of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, spanning over a huge story about a shady villain trying to destroy the video game world by blowing it up. Mario and an all-star cast of Nintendo characters must work together to defeat the Subspace Emissary in an action-platformer style that utilizes the Super Smash Bros. engine. Like most modes in the game, Subspace Emissary has multiple difficulty levels, ranging from Easy, Normal, Hard, Very Hard and Intense. Not only that, but you also have the option to have a second player assist you over the course of the game, making it easier and harder all at once. But I've strayed off topic a little bit, back to the video... Azura Vs. the World is a video series where I take on challenges and requests sent in by viewers. Although this particular challenge was never actually sent to me, I decided to do it just as a preview of what they will be like as I continue along. What is the challenge this time, you may be asking... Complete the Subspace Emissary mode on Intense difficulty with a second player! You may be thinking, "If there's two of them, doesn't that just make it easier for him?" Unfortunately, no. It makes it harder. A LOT harder. Both players share the same stock (lives), so if either player is doing badly, both of you will suffer for it. In addition, if you run out of stock and the first player dies, it's an automatic game over, no matter how well the second player is doing. This does not apply in vice-versa though, so as long as the first player is hanging on, you can continue along even if the second player is gone. ... and yes, just to make things funnier for the viewers, we're doing commentary this time around. Yes, both players are commentating, so you get to hear both of us as we suffer. Actually, I never even introduced my co-player yet, even after all of that. Heh... sorry Jordan, I got a little long-winded there. Jaymonius, fellow B.S. Battler and roommate will be assisting me in my endeaver to complete this game on it's hardest difficulty. Together we hope to make some decent progress, we may even finish it if we try hard enough. How bad can it be, right? ... right? Enjoy, because there's plenty more where this came from. Azura VG Channel Stream Notice (June Edition) It's time once again for me to make an announcement for an upcoming stream show that I've been planning for some time now. This time, we have a whopping eight players lined up for the event, which will be spanning from 3:00 to 9:00 PDT on Friday June 27. Azura, Jaymonius and Neko will all be there, as well as an all-star cast of guests, including ProtonJon, HylianHero, Rulerofice, Squigi and Pompay. As with last time, we'll be playing a variety of games, including Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Mario Kart Wii and others. Channel Azura News Update This video is basically going to be bad news... No, I'm not stopping making videos, but due to my life slowly becoming busier during the summer holidays, expect video production to slow down quite a bit. I'll try not to let myself fall too far down, but I wanted to come up with a way that I could keep everyone posted on how I was doing. Then it hit me. http://azureblade49.blogspot.com/ Yeah... I know, it's a blog. Big whoop. Only, it's not really just a blog. I'll be using it for several different purposes, some of which you guys might find interesting. Firstly, I'll be using it as a blog, so I'll keep you all posted on how my life is doing and, if I'm busy, you'll know why without spamming my YouTube account with random messages all asking the same questions. If there's a lack of videos on YouTube, you'll figure out why if you go to the blog. Secondly, it will be a Log, so I'll be keeping track of what games I've been playing recently. I wanted to try logging what I've been playing for a long time now, so I finally decided to buckle down and give it a go for the month of July, just to see how well I did. Lastly, it will be a gateway of sorts. Not a magical gateway, but you'll learn a little more about me from reading it every now and then. Azura and CMSPW at it Again... (Not Officially 4) Sonic (Azura) Vs. Fox (CMSPW) on Mario Bros. Just to set the record straight, this match isn't the fourth in the series of Azura Brawls CMSPyrowolf matches, because it was retardedly short AND I missed out on the commentary. This little gem, like most of man's greatest discoveries, was an accident of sorts... I don't get the chance to brawl on this level too often because most of the people I play with hate this stage. It doesn't play similarly to other stages in that you're almost required to use the enemies in the stage as weapons for easy kills. It also doesn't help if your opponent is capable of reflecting said projectiles weapons back at you for increased damage and flight distance. I don't fight a lot of StarFox character-using players in Brawl, but I know to watch out for this reflector. I was a little TOO cautious though, almost borderline paranoid of it. I was afraid to throw my weapons and froze in the moment. The result was this video... I missed out on getting the commentary for this, so I just saved the replay data and turned it into a video. This video is more or less my "I'm nothing amazing and should not be treated as such" evidence. If you like watching Azura get his ass handed to him (in seconds, no less) then this video is for you. I also swapped out the music in this stage for a song that I think went a little better with the scenario. Bonus points to anyone who can correctly guess where it's from. Channel Azura June Stream: Brawl Replays #1 Thanks again to all of you guys who came to watch the stream. It was wicked fun and I hope you all enjoyed the show. I know not everyone was able to come, so I've tried to come up with a solution. My original plan of recording the show and playing the highlights on YouTube failed due to my computer not being able to handle all of what was happening at once. However, I was able to do something else... BRAWL REPLAY DATA!!!! I don't have any audio commentary for these ones, but I do have music that I can provide to keep these interesting. I'll swap out the songs and replace them with new music that I personally chose. So far they all look pretty nifty (I even had to create my own audio loops for some of the shorter songs, match 2 and 3 in this video specifically) so I hope you enjoy. Channel Azura June Stream: Replay Matches 03 Here you go guys, this is going to be the last of the replay videos that I make for the June Stream. This should cover all of the main highlights of the show. I'd like to touch up on each of these matches in more detail, if I may... The first match in this video may seem kind of out of place compared to the rest of the matches here. "Why are there only three people playing in this match if there were eight people there?" This match was actually played BEFORE the stream went up, it was played with Jaymonius, CMSPyrowolf and myself almost 15 minutes before the show started, and as such I left that it deserved to be seen somewhere in this set. CMSPyrowolf was kind enough to be a moderator for the chatroom, so I think he deserves a spot on here somewhere as a way of me saying "Thanks, man!" "Why the song that you chose?" is another question I'm expecting people to ask. I like energetic and upbeat music, for one. That, and it's from a series made by Sonic Team, so it is, theoretically, still a valid choice. It's no worse than anything else I've put in previous videos (Kung-fu Fighting... what the hell was I thinking?). The series is also getting a new game for Wii later this year, so I could even use that as an excuse if I needed one. Luckily, I don't need an excuse, it's a good song and it fits in the energy of the stage very well. Matches 2 and 3 in this video were "Super duper happy fun time" matches, where people who wanted to have lots of fun chose random and giggled to themselves about who they got. I was lucky enough (I use the term "lucky" sarcastically) to get Captain Falcon on this match, but my Captain Falcon is in dire need of practice, as you will no doubt see from this match. I chose the song here because I was almost heartbroked to find that there were no Donkey Kong 64 songs in Brawl's vast song list. The song in question was the world map theme, probably the only song in the entire game that I remember (it's been years since the last time I had the chance to play). The third match in this video was just plain silly. I have no comments for it, because it was just so silly... That just about sums it up. Now that I'm done with these, I can get back to the rest of the videos in the Season 2 lineup. I'll be sure to announce the next stream date whenever I get around to planning another one.
